Unless there is a play making center fielder somewhere out there I hope we stand pat. Adding a starting pitcher to an already excellent starting rotation does absolutely nothing to help this team win, when the reason we don't win (consistently) does NOT revolve around said rotation. Get us a position player who can field his position and hit some baseballs around while maybe stealing the occasional base and then we're talking.

I cant wait until this day is over so we can quit talking about Halladay. Great pitcher, but the asking price is bizarre I don't want the Sox involved assuming they even had the prospects to get Halladay (which I don't think they do since the Jays are asking for can't miss elite pitching prospects). And the idea of including Danks or Floyd in a Halladay deal is just beyond stupid.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 31, 2009 -> 12:00 AM) Way to shut em up again, Dwayne. Does that person who called him a human piece of s*** the other day still feel that way? The worst player on our roster saves a perfect game and beats the Yankees. That is not a human piece of s***. Congrats again, Dwayne. Whoever called him that is shameful. No matter how bad one thinks Wise is, getting personal like that is not cool. Despite his hit tonight and catch last week, I personally don't believe he belongs on a ML roster. I'm glad he's made a couple good plays, but his ineptitude in countless other situations has also costed the team. That said, your point about the personal attack is definately a good take. -
Bizare game. Not sure if it's a sign things will start to get better or if it was just a lucky win...lucky in that the Yankees gave us a run and Wise wins the game w/ a walkoff single. Those two things won't happen often

What a hilarity of a game. It was fitting Wise would do something to help win it. Amazing. -

If AJ can't get a game winning hit here, we'll have Wise coming up with 2 outs. How does it work out where Wise could be our last hitter? -

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 30, 2009 -> 11:38 PM) And he struck out 2 guys and had Swisher 0 and 1. So. That does not mean you can't change speeds at least once in 15 pitches. -

Wished Matt would have thrown a slider at some point...every pitch in that 9th up until the homer was a fastball. -

QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 30, 2009 -> 11:29 PM) Yankees found themselves a stud set-up man. They need to get another guy for setup and put him in the rotation. A guy with Hughes skills needs to be pitching from the start, although I see why they have him there...without him they have nothing to get to Mo. -

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 30, 2009 -> 10:59 PM) Because. LOL. I found this funny. Kinda like when you're having an argument when you're a kid and you have NO REASON for doing something and the only answer you can come up with is, "Because"... -

Another absolute gem from our starting rotation. Whether it's Mark, Richard, Danks or Floyd ... Count hasn't been brilliant lately, but hasn't been totally terrible either. Ridiculous this rotation is in the midst of a 6 of 7 game losing skid. -

QUOTE (Princess Dye @ Jul 30, 2009 -> 10:30 PM) I fear we're gonna need an outstanding performance from Gavin. Yanks are lookin like a team that slipped up for a second but are waiting to take over again We need an outstanding performance from our starting pitching EVERY NIGHT...we usually get it, but it's not often good enough. Im sick of rumors about Halladay...we don't need him, we can pitch...lets add a little offense to this team. -
