  1. The crappy thing is Jose had good stuff today...yet somehow they manage to scrape up 4 runs. Traditionally, the Sox OWN Verlander...a shame he did (doing) this to us.
  2. QUOTE (DanksFan @ Jul 24, 2009 -> 02:09 PM) and Colon vs. Bonine = Crap Shoot
  3. This is bad. These punch-and-judy hitters are winning the game for them.
  4. Yea gotta start thinking about getting tonight's game. This one is over I think.
  5. Nice inspired offensive effort coming off yesterdays game. Ill admit though that Verlander is a great pitcher, he's capable of doing this to ANY lineup. At least our pitcher brought it to the mound.
  6. Wow, he's moving through this lineup like a hot knife through butter now. If I was Leland I'd let him go all 9. We're not scoring of him...hell, the one run we did get was not earned.
  7. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Jul 24, 2009 -> 01:46 PM) This is why we have a hard time coming from behind late in games. We start hacking early in counts and making quick outs. Definately part of it. Jose nice job big fella.
  8. Verlander will take the 7th and I wouldn't be totally shocked to see him go 8 if the 7th is as easy as the 6th was.
  9. AJ is hitting almost .300 and has only 28 rbis? He's on pace for about 50 RBIs this year. How on earth does that happen?
  10. Jose strikes out the side. He's done well today, gotta get him some help.
  11. Next inning could be Verlanders last, but if I figure Leland will push him to 7 if he gets through the 6th smoothly.
  12. This is what I love about basball...yesterday was total euphoria and today back to the frustrations of fandom. The goal for this weekend is simple...split. They miss BOTH our best pitchers (Mr. Perfect and Danks) and we GET their best. They should be the favorites...lets get 2 of 4 and work from there.
  13. QUOTE (GreatScott82 @ Jul 23, 2009 -> 05:05 PM) Keep this list growing: *No Hitter *Perfect Game *Hit a Homerun *World Series Champion *Won a game in the World Series *Saved a game in the same World Series *Started an All-Star Game *3 Time All-star and growing. . . . . what else is there Sox fans: This list is still quite a work in progress. I don't believe Mark will ever get close to 300 wins due to the fact I don't think he'll pitch long enough to do so, but a solid 200+ wins is easily within reach. Oh yea, there is one more accomplishment (if you will) I'd like to add: -Played his entire career with one team: The Chicago White Sox
  14. It was a great call...great calls are not how much you say, but what you say. Simple calls like "Yes Yes Yes...History" and "Do You Believe in Miracles?" is all you really need when the event takes the proper shape.
  15. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jul 23, 2009 -> 04:16 PM) Nothing will ever top Konerko's slam for me. But I've never gotten as loud/hype as I did after Wise made that catch. Podsednik's homer is way up there for me.
  16. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jul 23, 2009 -> 04:57 PM) The Catch. Move over Joe Montana and Dwight Clark.
  17. I respect the hell out of Ozzie for sticking up for his guy and I do agree with some comments that maybe us fans should give the guys some slack, but... when you sign up for this gig, that's part of mix that you will be booed if you suck. Bobby has sucked and he's been booed...why is this such a weird thing for him (and Ozzie)? He isn't near the first to have this happen and won't be the last. Instead of worrying about the fans, who slap down their hard earned money to watch a bunch of milionaires play a game, maybe they should figure out WHY Bobby is pitching poorly.
  18. this game HAS to be on MLB replay or ESPN classic soon? Get your tapes ready...
  19. QUOTE (Brian @ Jul 23, 2009 -> 04:21 PM) Buster Olney killing it on ESPN. "Not David Wells shutting down a last place Twins team and not David Cone facing a young Expos team." No doubt...Olney knows this perfect game will go down as one of the greatest moments in MLB history...against the defending AL champs and the catch Wise made may have been the greatest catch for the circumstances in the history of the game. Holy moly what a day. Congrats to Mark...probably not as big deal to him that to the fans, but how awesome it is to have HIM on OUR team? 36th round was it? Major league scouts need to start measuring heart and mental toughness instead of raw speed on a pitch. Mark OWNS ALL
  20. Unreal. Simply awesome. Kudos Mark...You are the man. A no hitter and now this.
  21. Tigers lose. This day is really starting to shape up. 3 more outs Mark and you punch your ticket to Cooperstown
  22. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 23, 2009 -> 03:59 PM) 100 pitches for Mark. Does Jenks get the 9th? Way to freaking go Burls.
