  1. 'The Sox having to rely on Javvy Vazquez is precisely why they won't go anywhere in the playoffs. Id rather "ride" Buehrle and take my chances there, at least we know he has the courage to battle.
  2. I still think the White Sox lose this game, but they are showing some heart here.
  3. They will not pinch hit for Thome. Ozzie is going down with the geezers.
  4. QUOTE (That funky motion @ Sep 27, 2008 -> 08:11 PM) Not just Javy. I would throw in Fields among others. While I have no issue getting Roberts if it can be done, the fact of the matter this team has many more problems than what Roberts would solve. It is my belief a youth movement should begin this off-season.
  5. QUOTE (That funky motion @ Sep 27, 2008 -> 08:05 PM) How about Roberts? The O's need pitching, give them Javy. In what dimension do the Orioles give Brian Roberts for Javy Vazquez?
  6. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Sep 27, 2008 -> 08:48 PM) Richard apparently has more balls than anyone of this team. Richard's heart and toughness isnt the question at all. I'd give hm a shot at the rotation next year for sure.
  7. QUOTE (Friend of Nordhagen @ Sep 27, 2008 -> 08:32 PM) Didn't you hear? I mean, Swish wasn't even available. Kenny had to pry him loose. Baaaaaaaad move? Yyyyyy-eeeesss! Yep and then we got him and played him out of position the entire year, but Kenny made up for that by bringing in Griffey, who hasn't been a credible CF in 5 years. So in essence, Kenny has loaded up this team with a bunch of Designated Hitters...Konerko, Thome, Griffey...hell, even Dye is a DH now (or maybe LF) and I see NOTHING Swisher does that well except draw some walks, which doesn't help much when you have no speed and you're a station to station team. The entire make up of this team sucks. I want less all or nothing hitters, a real CF, a bit more speed, youth and enthusiasm. This team is a wretched jalope.
  8. And I predict he will throw 3 hit ball for 7 innings.
  9. QUOTE (Wanne @ Sep 27, 2008 -> 08:28 PM) I officially HATE Nick POS Swisher........WORTHLESS. When that trade happened I hated it. The guy is a sorry hitter, carer average under .250...sad thing is, he isn't even sniffing .250 this year. NICE.
  10. QUOTE (lostfan @ Sep 27, 2008 -> 08:23 PM) He still is what he is even after his last 2 pathetic starts. Obviously nobody is going to give up an A+ prospect for him but something of value could be gotten for him at least. The problem is, who is going to step up and replace him? Pitchers don't just fall out of the sky. Hence me saying Javy still has value. Who cares who replaces him at this point, just get rid of him. I am sure a good GM will understand that it would be a great thing to dump Javvy WHILE actually improving that spot in the rotation. Basically, this team is old and the minors suck. This team has that long run of futility look coming up about them...if Kenny can prevent that then he's the genius some think he is. I for one, doubt.
  11. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Sep 27, 2008 -> 08:20 PM) I think we're beyond choking. We're just horrible now. Maybe last year wasn't a mirage. It was...this year is the byproduct of two teams (Tigers, Indians) having an inordinate amount of injuries. If they stay healthy, the Sox (and Twins) are playing for third this weekend. This White Sox team WAS NEVER a playoff team this year. Completely 'doing it with mirrors' concept that got swallowed up in their station to station paradigm
  12. QUOTE (lostfan @ Sep 27, 2008 -> 08:19 PM) Good thing Javy has decent trade value. The above is not in green, because it's true. His trade value is severely diminished now. The book on Javy is open, he can't be counted on, he's a sub .500 pitcher career...at best we'll get either an aging veteran or a couple middling prospects. If we get ANYTHING close to a A prospect we'll be very lucky.
  13. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Sep 27, 2008 -> 08:15 PM) I cant believe that people are blaming Javy for these 5 runs. The last 2 were on a pitch that was outside. The other 3 were because the umpire started to squeeze him and Ozzie has sat on his ass the last 5 days. If Ozzie wont stick up for our players who will? He wont even get out of the dug out, he doesnt care. While I agree with your point about Ozzie, the fact is this is SOP for Vazquez, he's a loser...the bigger the game, the worse he is. One thing about F.Garcia...like him or not and sometimes his antics were boorish, but he MANNED UP when the lights were bright...so what does Kenny do? Go get a bunch of fluffers like Vazquez. He needs to be gone the first day of the winter meetings.
  14. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Sep 27, 2008 -> 08:14 PM) Barring him stepping up in the post-season, he's long gone. There is no way he'll be around. They'll get value for him, but Ozzie and Kenny won't forget this bedwetting. There will be absolutely no post-season for this team.
  15. Laughable. Most disgusting season I can remember in a long time. I am SO LOOKING forward to the off-season when we (hopefully) get rid of about half this roster.
  16. Choke continues. WHY THE HELL didn't the Twins just win to put us out of our misery. Javvy needs to be moved in the off-season. Indians getting ready to blow this game open.
  17. Nice job so far by the hitters, NOT. This is a AAA pitcher...he may in time turn out to be OK in time, but 1 hit through 4 innings is not good.
  18. QUOTE (Good Guys @ Sep 27, 2008 -> 07:50 PM) Javy looking good. Statistically yes, but he's hung meat a couple times and they've missed. He's not holding Cleveland to 1 run tonight. We need some runs.
  19. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Sep 27, 2008 -> 07:45 PM) The fact that our manager thinks that hitting Brian Anderson 2nd is a good idea, is scary. I want him playing, he should be a tad further down the lineup. I would rather have Alexei there. I tend to agree, but this team isn't exactly the most versatile ever...we have a ton of 6-spot hitters.
  20. Holy Cow....Sox win tonight, we jump back into the lead. COME ON DAMNIT
