QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 3, 2008 -> 09:43 PM) Konerko is still hitting .0001 above Swisher. The bash brothers part Deux.
-
What in the hell is going on with Sexi Alexei? The boy is looking unreal over the last week.
-
Swisher back to .203...the boy is hot now. For some bizarro reason I still have that lug in my fantasy league. I needed a Catcher so I picked up Salttamachia and cut Adam LaRoche instead of Swisher. Maybe this guy will get back up to toward his lofty .247 career average, which means he's gonna need to hit well above that to make that average.

QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 3, 2008 -> 08:33 PM) Good stuff....after that bad inning, you sense a KC rally here. Yea I get the feeling as well, but as someone above already said...if we can't hold a 6-nill lead against the Royals we suck anyway.
-
I wish Dye could have gotten on there so we didn't have the pitcher leading off next inning.
-
Floyd is doing good, CQ is CQ, AJP is swinging the bat well and sexy Alexei seems to have 'figured out' the majors a little bit. Some nice stuff going on with this team despite some of the crap we have.

QUOTE (RME JICO @ Jun 3, 2008 -> 08:04 PM) ding, ding, ding, Swisher now batting .199. Awesome. I knew he could do it. (Disclaimer: I hated trading for him -at least the price we paid- at the time and his lovely performance on the diamond has done nothing to change my mind, injuries to Sweeney and DLS notwitstanding)
-
With the .200 mark being reach, what will Swisher's next goal be? .190 batting average here we come. The guy is an automatic out.

QUOTE (joesaiditstrue @ Jun 1, 2008 -> 03:31 PM) when uribe starts playing instead of Alexei "because Uribe is not a defensive liability", i'll probably stop watching these games all together. i took some heat for bashing ozzie on this site, and today was a perfect example of why i think his baseball IQ and overall intelligence is rather lacking, he's just not smart. I can't fathom how Alexei will NOT be playing nearly everyday. He has really improved...A LOT in a short time. The kid needs to be on the field. For as lacking in smarts as Ozzie is, I dont think he'd even think about sitting A-Ram

What should Ozzie do with Swisher?

QUOTE (Frankensteiner @ May 30, 2008 -> 12:14 PM) I wouldn't touch Furcal. Guy has a lot of tread on his tires which is scary for a speed guy. Plus he'll cost a fortune and he's not really worth it unless he's playing like he has this season. Guy was a pretty big bust last year (.688 OPS). Totally agree, but Kenny won't be afraid of him. Cabrera is a temporary solution for this year. I still would like to pry Hu from the Dodgers or see if Arias in Texas has rebounded any? We have ZILCH in our minors at SS. As far as Swisher...career .246 hitters typically dont spend time in the top of the order...he's a solid 7th hitter. -
Shields is a great young pitcher, but Count has been pitching like a young 38 year old again.

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ May 28, 2008 -> 09:53 AM) When you see a guy like that, who struggled through a first few years in the low minors, then suddenly takes off the last couple (which he has)... you have to wonder if he's "figured it out", or if he's just outgrown his cohorts. A trip through AAA should tell us which it is. And unlike some folks, I personally have no problem with a guy who is 28 at AAA and raking, if he really did just take a few extra years to figure things out. If he can contribute at the major league level, even if he's in his late 20's, so be it. Maybe not as ideal as a 22 year old, but still of value. Excellent philosophy.

QUOTE (jphat007 @ May 28, 2008 -> 02:13 PM) I bet ozzie is worried about 2 walks again. I think that's probably why they went that route. If Bobby's control was impeccable they may have put Martinez on. Somehow, they got a W today. WOW. -

Linebring not sparkling here, but he has 2 outs in 2 ABs...the Delucci out appeared (based on Gameday) to go to the wall. -

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ May 28, 2008 -> 01:47 PM) Marte was a highly touted prospect, but that doesn't mean he's going to pan out. Offensively and defensively he's been very disappointing to say the least. I even noticed him making a dumb attempt yesterday at Alexi Ramirez bunt (which went foul, but he was going at it as if he was going to make this ridiculous play trying to field it before it went foul and he'd have had no chance). That's what I thought and I agree. -

Didnt they trade Kouzmanoff, because Marte was supposed to be this stud 3rd baseman? -

QUOTE (SoxFan562004 @ May 28, 2008 -> 01:31 PM) yeah, I like Baker a lot too. I think Gray Race was actually a very good album and haven't been overly thrilled since Mr. Brett came back. I'm 29, so my wheelhouse with them was that lineup, they put out "Along the Way" on DVD, it is good I liked Gray Race too, but I personally think Process of Belief was their crowing achievement so we disagree a bit there (since that was the first album when Mr. Brett came back). The Palladium DVD is a masterpiece...it shows what a good band they really are and have become. Quite an impressive development from their 4 chord hardcore punk beginnings (although they were never REALLY 4 chords like the Ramones or someone).
