I think yr spot on, thank you, best two cents I ever spent! :) but since I have Dish network I'll have to see if they have Comcast sports channel

so how does MLB determine blackouts?

Your Comcast channel on dish is 429. If you turned it to that station you will know if your subscribed , if your not call them up and pony up some cash .

I believe how this works is that it’s determined based on the area you live for instance northern IL northern Indiana southern Wisconsin and so on , if you live in that area your blackout for extra innings. If let’s say you move to Kansas then you would get the Sox games through extra innings.

  3. Keeping Vaughn on the roster in April and not getting the extra year is not very Whitesox ish. Personally, I am torn about losing that extra year for 1 month of April baseball. From a business standpoint I am not sure it’s very smart. Just my 2 cents.

Thank you for clarification, I live west of Rockford. How does a black out occur? Didnt it used to be determined by the amount of tickets sold by the home team in advance?

No I think your thinking football. If you live near Rockford just get Comcast sports channel and you will get the games. Otherwise extra innings will be blacked out. My two cents

Giolito only having 3 years left definitely feels like the Sox are in a window to win with him. Trevor Bauer just broke the AAV record and Gerrit Cole signed a contract for over 300M. Both of those deals are realistically going to be in play for him if he's healthy as a free agent. This felt like the time to get an extension done and it's disappointing the Sox (likely) weren't able to do it.

Very disappointing on Lucas shows the Sox are completely cheap , but Vaughn could have been signed. Totally different category but he could have been locked up.

  6. This is very sad but maybe they learned their lesson as it’s rumored colas is coming and the Sox outbid everyone. Maybe they don’t want to lose a player over 200k anymore. I just want our pipeline in the minors to be deeper. Seems like we miss on a lot of second and third rounders and we have missed plenty of first rounders in the past. Hard to miss on top 5 players but we will be picking in the twenties now and we need  way better scouting and development also hoping we don’t give any more international money away.

  7. Just a morning thought, if Vaughn doesn’t get extended does he go back down and start the season in triple A until we get that year of eligibility back? Thinking with Grandal still nursing he can Dh and eloy can also spot Dh for a month. Just a thought. Have not heard much on the extensions.

Fulmer? When did Katz work with Fulmer?

Agree don’t remember Katz working with fulmer, but it doesn’t matter because no pitching coach can fix him anyway. Fulmer is an albatross cat getting 9 lives because he has some great spin rate. Who cares if you can’t throw a strike.

Here's the problem: who starts if ANYONE gets hurt?

This is why the offseason was a joke.

I would say most teams have this problem with number 6 and 7 starters. You use your best triple A starters or kopech for the time being until you find a trade partner. Most teams are not 7 deep even the best ones. Send Lopez down and have him work on stuff he still could be a number 5 in the waiting.
