QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Mar 18, 2007 -> 04:10 PM) When Blake plays 1st, who will play 3rd? Andy Marte
-
wow... the Padres had a lot of guys from JCA...
-
Very impressive rebound by Danks... keep it up!
-
I think a big for Danks today is to see how he bounces back next inning.
-
Danks is struggling now... falling behind, not finishing his pitches
-
Well... when you leave fastballs right down the middle...
-
when your going good, even getting jammed will produce good results
-
Erstad w/ the deep fly ball for the sac-fly.... 5-0 white sox

QUOTE(Grindersrule @ Mar 18, 2007 -> 03:26 PM) Danks seems to work at a Buerle like pace. most lefties work fast
-
Branyan should stay in the infield.
-
2-bagger for Hall... glad to see that David Wells still sucks.

QUOTE(striker62704 @ Mar 18, 2007 -> 03:23 PM) What a stud Danks is. Sorry Gavin. Good luck in AAA. Or possibly in the pen.

That was a really good changeup! Danks with a fairly easy 1-2-3 inning...

QUOTE(Heads22 @ Mar 17, 2007 -> 09:31 PM) Sweeney's not a centerfielder, and he's getting eaten alive this spring. He needs AAA. Sweeney, however, can play above average D in CF. Also, he has just been having a bad spring. You can't tell me his last 3 spring trainings were flukes. Especially his first one when he was only 19. And if Ryan Sweeney is dominanting AAA this year, which I expect he will be, and we are having CF problems, why not stick him out there in CF?

QUOTE(South Side Fireworks Man @ Mar 17, 2007 -> 09:24 PM) Whatever happened to that pitcher (I think his name was Lujan) that the Sox got for Chris Stewart? I think he was in sinle A last year. Was he in ST camp with the Sox this year? What are the Sox' expectations of him for the next couple of years? BTW, anyone know how Stewart has been doing this spring? Is he expected to be in the Majors this year? No, I am pretty sure he hasn't pitched with the mlb club this spring. I would assume that the expectation for him is to make the pen in 2-3 years or be trade bait. And from what I have heard, Chris Stewart is competing for the backup C spot and can possibly get it.

We always have god... um, I mean, Ryan Sweeney.

Right now it looks like Pods will start in LF and leadoff and Erstad will play CF and bat 2nd. Terrero will also probably be the 4th OF since Anderson seems to have a pretty bad injury and if he doesn't start he will be in AAA. Now, vs. righties at least, Ozzie seems to have his mind set at batting Pods, Erstad, and Thome bacb-to-back-to-back, and IMO, that would be idiotic having three lefties in a row. Now, I have no problem with Erstad batting second since he is good no. 2 hitter, and Iguchi can be a good at the bottom of the order. But 3 lefties in a row is just a sign of disaster, IMO. If I had it my way, I'd, like many others, have Dye bat third. He can get on base, hit for power, average, and has good speed. He fits the 3 spot perfectly. And some say we should sandwich the lefty, but instead I would bat Konerko 4th since he is a better hitter then Thome at this point in his career, and is a better run producer. Thome would bat 5th, and Crede would bat 6th. Basically my lineup vs. righties would be... 1. Podsednik - LF; 2. Erstad - CF; 3. Dye - RF; 4. Konerko - 1B; 5. Thome - DH; 6. Crede - 3B; 7. Pierzynski - C; 8. Iguchi - 2B; 9. Uribe - SS Now, IMO this would be the perfect lineup. Thoughts?

Pods, Erstad, Dye = OF Terrero = 4th OF

QUOTE(Beastly @ Mar 14, 2007 -> 10:34 PM) Why not Spivey? I wasn't sure about him but I was just curious of your reasoning of not bolding him. Spivey is pretty much washed up, IMO.

QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Mar 15, 2007 -> 10:45 PM) Yet you have 8 posts in this thread.... shhh!

QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Mar 15, 2007 -> 11:15 AM) If things go well (and assuming no trades are imminent), Pods will be ready for opening day, Anderson will start in CF, and Erstad with be the 4th OF. I may be the only one who feels this way, so I'll say it. I have a feeling that, if he does indeed get to start in LF, Pods will have the best year of his career all-around. OBP of .350-.360 with another increase in his walk total, 75-80% SB% by not forcing as often, decent situational hitting, and defense in LF getting a bit closer to average (though as usual his speed has to offset his weak arm and not-great judgement). I would be estatic if that happened.

QUOTE(GoSox05 @ Mar 15, 2007 -> 09:09 AM) I can't stand Baseball Prospectus

This thread is useless since this will never happen!!!!

If Heath has another solid first half, he could be a really good option for trade bait.
-
correct me if I am wrong, but all these players can still play in the spring training games, right?
