  1. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Mar 11, 2007 -> 03:27 PM) Ya, I still hate mlb.tv though. I really do, the quality is s***. The 700K better work good during the regular season. can you increase the picture size for yours? Ever since I got the new windows media player, I can't or just don't know how.
  2. Ramirez is looking good. Everyone was saying that the Ramirez for Soriano trade was a bad one for Seattle, but Ramirez can really help out their rotation.
  3. I wasn't paying attention, how did Anderson get to second? Steal?
  4. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Mar 11, 2007 -> 03:23 PM) f***ing mlb.tv won't work for me for some f***ing reason. Got I hate this s***. Thankfully your link just saved me from throwing my computer. So you got it up?
  5. back through the middle for Anderson.

  7. fly out by Beltran to RF, 2 quick outs for Russel. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Mar 11, 2007 -> 03:17 PM) I am freaking pissed...why is this game not on mlb.tv. If it is a comcast game shouldn't we be able to get it on .tv. BOOO MLB...BOOO. It is on MLB.tv. Go to the whitesox homepage, click watch the sox on mlb.tv and then click watch the game.
  8. A philthy (yes, filthy w/ a ph) curveball by Russel to K Ichiro
  9. 4-4 w/ 2 homers in todays B game for Mackowaik...
  10. Little broken bat ground out by Sweeney QUOTE(LVSoxFan @ Mar 11, 2007 -> 03:04 PM) Pardon my ignorance but who is Russell? One of our AAA guys? I'm out of it... He is gonna start the year off at AA. He is one our top 10 prospects, according to BA. He is tall and can bring the heat.
  11. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Mar 11, 2007 -> 02:36 PM) Terrero has played a grand total of like 2 innings on television this spring and that might be a little generous. You've deducted an awful lot from a VERY small sample size. And if by "hit a little" you mean "about as much as Jason Dellaero then yeah, I agree. If you have MLB.tv I recommend you go back and watch a few Orioles games from last season, talk about pathetic at the plate, he made Brian Anderson look like Garret. It's also enjoyable listening to the announcers openly mock Terrero as he comes to the plate. It took him 23 games and 35 ABs last season to get his first extra base hit. I have seen him play about 10 innings on TV this season so far, thank you very much
  12. QUOTE(YASNY @ Mar 11, 2007 -> 02:36 PM) Mack's history, I believe. With Pods and Erstad, we really don't have a need for anothe LH hitting OF. Mack isn't only a OF. He is a 3B, 2B, and would likely be the back-up 1B in place of Gload.
  13. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Mar 11, 2007 -> 02:33 PM) Sweeney could dearly use another year in AAA, so I'd like to see him fail in ST, as strange as it sounds. He has a chance to blossom in Charlotte, but would likely just be f***ed with in the majors. The way I see it is if you think you are ready and you play great in ST and earn the job, you should get. I really hate it when people use the term 'rushing' when the player earns the job. Rushing a player to the bigs is like what was done last year w/ Anderson. He didn't earn the job, but awarded the job.
  14. QUOTE(scenario @ Mar 11, 2007 -> 02:32 PM) I think Kenny ends up making a move - like trading Mackowiak. I like Mac, but he's redundant as both an infielder and outfielder. Ozuna can play his infield positions. Erstad or Perez can play first. Perez can play corner outfield. Mac's like an extra spare tire. Perez provides more to the team at this point, as right-handed power hitting bench depth. IMO I strongly disagree. Mackowaik is one of the best bench guys in all of baseball, and his versitility makes this team that much better. Also, he is a top pinch hitter. He came through big time a couple times last season.
  15. I am hoping Sweeney will break out today. So far I have been a bit disappointed by his performance. Early in the offseason he was my pick to win the CF job in ST and start the season.
  16. the only thing I don't like is the A.J. Pierzynski on the side. Otherwise, that is a great wallpaper. I might put that up once ST is over and the season starts!
  17. QUOTE(scenario @ Mar 11, 2007 -> 02:20 PM) Regarding Eduardo Perez... Usually teams don't sign a 37 year old to send him to the minors. Plus he smacks lefties around like they owe him money. And he has a very good BA against lefties in the Central (which is loaded with lefties). So... I think he's in. Then it's a numbers game. If Perez is in, who's out? he was a non-roster invitee, and non-roster invitees are brought in to bring a little comptetion, and possibly signed to a minor league contract to provide depth in the minors. Like Redding last year.
  18. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Mar 11, 2007 -> 02:11 PM) Still another hour until game time. Any idea who else is slated to pitch. In another thread Aardsma was mentioned as a possibility. Probably Tracey. Jenks hasn't pitched in a while, has he? So he could pitch. We will likely see 3 innings from Russell and Phillips together, so The means 2-3 relievers will only be used, if everything goes to planned.
  19. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Mar 11, 2007 -> 01:43 PM) But he pitched. I wouldn't write prior off. The guy has good mechanics and just really got screwed by the way he got broughten up with Baker just destroying young pitchers. If Prior is let go by the Cubs after this season because of injury/bad preformance, I would gladly take him. I have always been a big fan of his, and I think he can become a very good pitcher still. If he is not offered arbitration after next season and becomes a free agent, I would give him an incentive laden deal to compete for a job, especially if Buehrle leaves. And if the Cubs decide to trade him it would only take a mid-level prospect to probably get him. Basically either we would have gotten a huge steal, or we just release/DFA him. It would be one of those high rewards, low risk things. Also, his velocity did increase by a 2-3 mph from his last outing this spring. I wouldn't be surprised to see him hitting in the low 90's by the time the season starts, and if everything goes well, in the mid 90's half-way through the season.
  20. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Mar 11, 2007 -> 01:57 PM) That sparkling 7.36 ERA isn't going to help him win a spot. He really has not be able to keep the ball down, at all. ERA's are overrated when you have only pitched 3 innings. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Mar 11, 2007 -> 01:53 PM) It doesn't make a whole hell of a lot of sense to have Terrero, Erstad and Anderson all on the roster at the same time. You could carry Anderson, Erstad and Perez just fine. Any time you want to give Anderson a day off (like every other day) Erstad can slide over the CF and Perez/Mackowiak can take over in LF. Any time you'd like to give Erstad rest Anderson would stay in CF and Mack/Perez could start in LF. There's no reason to both Anderson and Erstad out of the lineup at the same time if they're both starters, there's ample LF help so there should never be a problem getting everyone rest. Luis Terrero serves absolutely NO purpose offensively so instead of wasting a roster spot just so Ozzie can bench Anderson as often as he pleases and replace him with a hitter who is actually worse than BA, the Sox could carry a valuable bat and just do a little juggling whenever someone in the OF needs a day off or has a small injury. I know this may be a little much for Ozzie to handle but I have confidence that maybe Joey Cora or someone can help him fill out the lineup card in case he gets confused. I am trying to look at it from Ozzie's and KW's point of view, and make it look as realistic as possible. There is a reason they signed Terrero first thing when free agency opened up. Obviously they have some sort of plan for him.
  21. Here are a couple of mine... Broadway - Jon Garland Danks - Barry Zito Gonzalez - A poor, poor mans Johan Santana Fields - Scott Rolen
  22. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Mar 11, 2007 -> 01:39 PM) One's not an actual CF, and the other one sucks. Even so, Sweeney can play above average D in CF. And Terrero seems to fit in well. From what I have seen from Terrero this spring, he can bunt, he has a good arm, he gets good reads, he has good speed, and he can hit a little. Right now, he seems like the best fit for the 4th OF'er. That is if he isn't injured badly.
  23. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Mar 11, 2007 -> 01:48 PM) Pitched well in Spring? Because that would be false. I am high on Aardsma after seeing some of his innings from last season, but he is no where near the lock I thought he was going to be at the start of Spring. He's had only one bad outing so far. He hasn't pitched great, but he hasn't pitched bad. He has pitched well.
