  1. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 7, 2006 -> 09:55 PM) Yes you can. The chances of a comeback are extremely slim. I think my title of Mr. Pessimism has been overthrown by numerous people on this site. I was joking as well.
  2. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 7, 2006 -> 09:57 PM) 22 more games for this team to decide if they want to make the playoffs, or be known as massive underachievers. And please Hawk, don't insult our intelligence by saying you'd rather have Ozzie than any other manager. We are clearly the 4th best team in our division since the ASB. I'm tellin you all. Lou Pinella would be perfect on the southside!
  3. that chick in that commercial after the game is hot...
  4. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 7, 2006 -> 09:48 PM) I know, I was just making a joke. I thought mr. pessimism never made jokes.
  5. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 7, 2006 -> 09:46 PM) Who, the Bears? The Sox only play one game a week, the rest of the week, they suck. Like yesterday. They showed up to play.
  6. Anyone else getting sick of the one game a week this team plays?
  7. Lineup for the rest of the season should be something like this... 1. Sweeney, LF 2. Iguchi/Pablo, 2B 3. Dye, RF 4. Thome, DH (5th vs. lefties) 5. Konerko, 1B (4th vs. lefties) 6. Crede, 3B 7. Pierzynski, C 8. Anderson, CF 9. Cintron, SS With Podsednik, Mackowaik, Gload and Pablo getting spot start somewhere in the OF or IF. And Uribe should never see the field unless it is as a defensive replacement late in the game and we are winning. But, Ozzie refuses to put the team in the best position to win, and puts them in the best position to fail.
  8. Ryan Sweeney pissed of Guillen with that "pitiful" preformance last night. He will now be benched for a week.
  9. Even though Ryan Sweeney went 0-4, he still showed he was already 10x better then Pods. Hit 2 balls very hard. And got a RBI!
  10. God... oh, I mean Sweeney, has had some bad luck tonight. Got robbed of a single which caused him to get his first GIDP (at least he hustled and almost beat it out), and a lineshow right to Crede Sr... I mean Mike Lowel.
  11. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Sep 5, 2006 -> 09:15 PM) :headbang 2.80 ERA over his last 45 IP I couldn't agree more with your sig. And, I would add Jon Garland to that list.
  12. QUOTE(TaylorStSox @ Sep 5, 2006 -> 09:05 PM) How in the hell do you know what goes on behind closed doors? How do you know they haven't called a meeting? How do you know PK's not throwing chairs in the locker room? Because if there was something, the media would have told us about it. There is always a leak, and the media finds out about this stuff. Like someone on the bears leaked info to the media about how Cedric Benson left early at the preseason game and didn't show up for the mandatory meeting or something, so he was fined or something like that.
  13. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Sep 5, 2006 -> 08:46 PM) Konerko's splits since the ASB FWIW; .298/.372/.524 That really doesn't mean anything. And I said lately, not from 3 months ago and plus. Excuse me, I did not say lately, but I meant to.
  14. Did anyone really think we had a chance tonight? A crappy lefty, who has gotten rocked by every other team he has faced, and the sox have never seen before. It was over before the game even started.
  15. Every year before this year, he always acted like the team captian, and lead the team. But when he is finally the team captian, he doesn't act like it. There should have been a team meeting by now. And calling of the team meeting is the team captains job. And what is with his GIDP's? Last year he had like 8 total GIDP's, this year he has over 20 GIDP's. And he has been a big choker and rally killer. Last year he was much better, even though his numbers really don't show it. I am very disappointed in Paulie, and would have expected better from Paulie.
  16. Only players who have not quit... Ryan Sweeney, Pablo Ozuna, Jon Garland, Mark Buehrle, Javier Vazquez, Ross Gload, Sandy Alomar, Chris Stewart, Charlie Haeger, Boone Logan, Matt Thornton, Mike MacDougal, Brian Anderson, David Riske, Rob Mackowaik, and maybe Alex Cintron and Bobby Jenks. Did you notice, most of the players I just mentioned are either backups, or just got called up. hmmmmm, makes you think.
  17. I am shocked my computer isn't shattered in 20 pieces right now...
  18. Watching the Sox right now is like ripping a stinky fart. You know the fart stinks, but you can't help from sniffing the fart. Same way with the Sox, you know they are pitiful and pathetic, but you can't help yourself from watching.
  19. I hope Ryan Sweeney stays as far away as possible from Walker.
  20. QUOTE(chisox72 @ Sep 5, 2006 -> 08:12 PM) Yeah, but they will all be "just missed, what a shame"..... Konerko will be the one to "just miss it." I think he "just misses" one every other at bat.
  21. Brian Anderson and Ryan Sweeney are rookies, so that must mean they need to be hazed by the manager as well as the players. So, the managers way of hazing is that whenever they have a good night, they must be benched for about 3 games.
  22. Ozuna, 2B Cintron, SS Dye, RF Thome, DH Crede, 3B Gload, 1B Anderson, CF Pierzynski, C Sweeney, LF That is what I'd like to see the lineup be the next couple of days. But, with Pods and Uribe benched period, and Konerko and Gooch just having a day or two off to clear their heads.
  23. at least gload hustled, anyone else you would have seen them not even half way to first on that.
  24. QUOTE(GOD @ Sep 5, 2006 -> 07:57 PM) players who need to be benched and their replacements: Konerko- Gload Pods- Sweeney Uribe- Cintron Guchi- Makoviak fixed
