Sorry fellas, as much as I want him LA Radio has been reporting all morning that Clement will be signed by the Angels by tonight. We now need Odalis Perez, and much cheaper.
-
The more I think about it, the more I like this trade. We save money, get a legitimate base stealing threat (unlike one we have seen in YEARS), and a QUALITY reliever that was in the top 10 in holds last year in the NL. The guy had a 2.63 K/BB ratio last season, compared to 2.00 for Damaso. We still got plenty of pop in Konerko, Thomas, Dye and Rowand to drive in Pods and Urine. What am I missing, fellas?
-
Yup! I am laid-off from my job in 2 months anyways. this keeps me looking busy. And if my boss approaches my office, I just look annoyed (like Costanza did with the Yankees in that hillarious Seinfeld episode).
-
I'm in and I think we should keep what you said (1QB, 2 WRs and 1 RB), plus 1 of either TE, K or Defense).
-
I think adding the speed of Podsednik would be smart of KW, I'm just thinking we're giving up too much. They should throw in a prospect at the very least.
-
Why would we? We'd have Rowand, Podsednik and Dye. And who's "falling in love with players???" I said I LIKED our OF the way it is. I don't LOVE C. Lee, but I agree with the 90% of those here that know it's a terrible trade if it happens.
-
Yeah, and a leadoff hitter SHOULD be a 2B we acquire. I like our OF as-is.

Anyone listen to any Online Radio Stations?

Dude for Dance/House Music these two are sick! http://www.fusionchicago.com/enter.php http://grooveradio.com/ Chicago vs. LA house. -
I'm not. I don't see anything happening today, as a matter of fact. The morning after the winter meetings ends? Nawww.

It wouldn't be the Brewers, so I'm thinking it could possibly the Sox (forgetting about the Unit trades already) or the Padres (who lost Boomer). I want Clement bad.
-
Rotoworld has a different trade then Ben Maller: The White Sox and Blue Jays have discussed a trade in which Toronto would receive Carlos Lee and Joe Crede for Miguel Batista and Eric Hinske. With Corey Koskie around, the Blue Jays shouldn't have much interest in Crede. However, they could move him on to a third team. Lee would play first base in Toronto. Dec. 13 - 12:14 pm et Still a bad trade IMO.
-
I'd do Lee and Garland for Hallady, but that's about it.
-
Well they ARE steroid-related if they mention the fact the Mets are now turning their attention to Manny, Delgado or Maggs because of the steroid issue and Sosa possibly being a part of it.
-
Beat me to this one, found on Ben Maller's rumors. Horrible deal if it is made.

BOOOOOO BOOMER!!! I can't believe he left. Oh, well...we'll take the draft pick. I was hoping that the Pads would then turn around and try to bring Clement back, especially since he sees that his good friend and former rotation buddy in SD Woody re-signed. Now I hear they are trying to deal for Kevin Brown again, with the Yanks expected to pick up a huge portion of his salary. Ugh!

At least my second favorite team was in the running! Great story. Seriously, both the Sox and Padres care about their fans. I remember in 2000 going to a Padre game where a vendor soaked me accidentally with a beer I had ordered. I was too buzzed to really even care, as I was sweaty and stinky already, yet the PR guy that took down my information after witnessing it went ahead and sent me 2 tickets to each game of a series with the Rockies. Decent seats too.
-
Hey Indy, just don't turn on the other channel! (WSI) Ever seen the movie The Ring? :puke
-
For signings, my wish list includes Matt Clement (been a fan since his Padre days), Wilson Alvarez (best #5 starter available) and JEFF KENT for second base. Wishful thinking I know.
-
Ok, Hudson's going to the Cards. So I'll say it again....Garland/Anderson for Marcus Giles/prospect.
-
You guys also know that for $5 you can sit in the "park inside the park" located in deep centerfield, where you can bring coolers full of stuff (except beer I think) and picnic on these hills, where you can see the game live and on a huge 75-100 inch bigscreen. It's a lot of fun.
-
Not that I saw in the 3 games I went to last season. You can go through any section to buy anything you want or "roam" you just can't go down the steps to get to the good seats, obviously.

Greatest stadium I've ever been to. Just no parking unless you're willing to shell out $18. Park in a trolley stop lot for free (called Park-N-Ride's) and take the trolley for $2, which stops right in front of the stadium and operates until the wee hours of the morning. Also avoid sitting in the seats on the roof or floors of the Western Metal Supply Company building. The thought might entice you, but the view isn't so great.

I read on Rotoworld that the Braves are thinking about a Marcus Giles for Tim Hudson swap. They basically want a young stud to replace Wright and soon-to-be-gone Ortiz. I know Garland's no Hudson and will probably never be, but how about the Garland/Anderson combo for Marcus and a prospect from them? Doable?

I'll be making the trip from Phoenix as well. Man I tell you 2 years ago the Sox played my Pads in the Cell, now they are coming to SD this year and I am moving to Phoenix, where they won't be visiting the BOB. Unreal luck I have.
