...while meaning Tom Seaver lol

The Indians were our farm team for a while.

Uh oh, the dirty little secret now is that Leury has a higher BA than Vaughn.

Not at the quantum level

...for a last place team.

In 2006 Ozzie had Sean Tracy come in in the 7th just to bean Ranger Hank Blalock. It was Tracy's third appearance after being called up a few days earlier. https://www.post-gazette.com/sports/ron-cook/2006/06/18/Cook-Guillen-off-target-in-beanball-incident/stories/200606180179

On the flip side it will be real interesting if the Sox are coasting along 30 games over .500 and Leury and Hamilton each have 300+ plate appearances when Eloy and Luis come knocking...

I'm imagining an NHL model ?

Talk about protection for Lamb. He's gonna see better pitches than my kid saw in 7 year old coach pitch league.
-
Inclined to agree but doesn't that make it awfully risky for the Twins because of the possiblity the new guy accidentally lets a pitch get away from him especially given his nerves coming in?
-
Bat Grandal right ahead of Yermin. He draws his obligatory walk and then they are stuck pitching to Yermin with 1B occupied.

Regarding whether Mercedes, or TA gets plunked...I don't doubt it happens but it does concern me. I don't want anything to wind up in suspensions for our guys, much less injuries if benches clear or anything.

Given the resources the Sox have there is absolutely no reason to be focusing on KC or CLE. The Sox' fortunes will totally be a result of what they do or don't do with the tools they have. They only reason you cannot write off KC or CLE is because someone will be there to benefit should the Sox simply wet themselves this summer.

And the old axiom comes back into play: "when you're going good you're not as good as you think and when you're going bad you're not as bad as you think." -

Backs kinda against the wall tomorrow to salvage a split. Gonna be Dylan's chance to become a man and pull the team across. -

Sheesh, at this point this lineup would be better off if they could let Eloy and Luis walk up to the plate with canes and swing one handed. -

Leury? Apparently no spot or situation is too important to hand to him. -

Isn't this the manager who yanked out and threw third base in protest once? -

We need to face some better teams. The quality of the competition is dragging us down. -
https://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/31440076/why-chicago-white-sox-mlb-most-interesting-best-team Its a deservedly complimentary report of the team. What's amazing was something I didn't realize until after I had read it: they didn't mention TA once. This is the former batting champ and one of the most charismatic personalities is the game, but yet there is so much other talent on the team that demands attention. It just speaks to how loaded they are.

Ok, so whose gonna be ROY? Yermin, AV, Madrigal....... or Kelenic, who in one evening has already managed to suck all the air out of the room?

It is a good question. NFL players come straight out of college, and the best NBA players transition straight out of their Little Tikes plastic hoops it seems. Why does MLB require so much longer an incubation time?
