  1. QUOTE(maggsmaggs @ Oct 16, 2005 -> 10:25 PM) Ball 4, Kong even though you are a power hitter, go opposite way for the sake of the team with a fly ball. he tried last time...
  2. My stepfather is a hardcore cub fan and was the first to congratulate me after we beat Boston and before his game. He is pulling hard for the Sox right now and is glued to his tv.
  3. 3 outs and Chicago as we know it will cease to exist.
  4. QUOTE(toasty @ Oct 16, 2005 -> 10:12 PM) i'd rather throw cotts for an inning I agree - I do NOT want to see Jenks face Vlad
  5. to the guy who wanted to know how good Escobar really is: 3.02 ERA with a strikeout per inning this year
  6. QUOTE(CYGarland @ Oct 16, 2005 -> 09:34 PM) I have a feeling Everett's going to lean into one. yeah I just hope he makes good contact doing it this time
  7. QUOTE(JCarver27 @ Oct 16, 2005 -> 09:29 PM) just signed up today, but i've been a sox fan all my life. what a season good time to join! welcome!
  8. QUOTE(fathom @ Oct 16, 2005 -> 09:25 PM) El Duque's warming up? Ugh....with his shoulder rumored to be bothering him, I'd rather go with Politte next inning. If he is the guy that can get it done, I don't care if the friggin rally monkey is gnawing his leg off - He has to get in!
  9. QUOTE(lukeman89 @ Oct 16, 2005 -> 09:13 PM) hey guys we still got rally crede ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

  11. Escobar in. Its okay. I think we win tonight
  12. I'd have taken him out after five. They have an off day if the lose, they should play it like you are down 3-1. Empty the tank.
  13. we've tagged Mariano this year, so anything is possible.
  14. I know exactly what this is like. It feels just like the 1991 Bulls run did. That was the year they finally broke through and won the championship and they did it by just rolling through the playoffs and championship series. I kept expecting there to be drama and a nailbiter for that first ring, but it never materialized. It was odd that after so long it came so easy. So far the Sox playoff wins are mounting up just like for the Bulls, but that "feeling" is there too. My hear still expects a nailbiter somewhere in this, and I still can't even imagine being in the WS, though, so I certainly don't rest easy yet. SFF
  15. I don't know if this is the proper place to start this thread, but I just wanted to give serious props to the folks managing this forum. I have relied on it through the season and especially the playoffs, and have even come to take it for granted. Still, I am amazed at the job that has been done keeping the thing online and smoothly operating when I am sure its been far, far busier then it has ever been in the past. Great job and decision to prune the extra features and do what was necessary to keep the site running uninterrupted thus far. Just thought someone should recognize that . Soxtalk SFF
  16. QUOTE(sox-r-us @ Oct 14, 2005 -> 10:35 PM) I wish that if we do get to the World Series we could have added Frank Thomas to the roster just to give him one focking at bat at the Cell in a World Series (I doubt we can do it now since we put him on IR) The only thing that sucks about this great run by the Sox is that our best man is not there.....we miss ya Frank....please do come back. If the Sox were to make it to the WS and possibly even win it, Frank not in the lineup will remind me of Sweetness not having a chance to score a touchdown in the 1985 Super Bowl. *chills down my spine* SFF
