  1. I am probably the only one who can say this, but I always preferred the "other" girl in the show Smallville. SFF
  2. QUOTE(RDriesen @ Aug 16, 2005 -> 10:05 AM) thanks. if anything, i have ONE thing in common with wsox fans. my HATRED for the cubs, or at least, their annoying *## fans SFF
  3. I have to say coffee by default. I really don't drink much and when I do it isn't beer - just can't stand the flavor. Gotta have coffee though. When I get up in the morning, I need a cup of coffee more than my first breath. My second favorite beverage now? I am surprised to admit it is those Propel flavored waters. Healthy or not, I just like 'em! SFF
  4. I hate this kind of story. I hate even trying to think about it! I just can't get my mind around what that pain and horror must be like and how it can exist, even though I still know it happens. SFF
  5. From the Red's fansite: No confirmation, or backup resources but a fan over there is saying: Redszone Take it for what its worth. SFF
  6. QUOTE(SnB @ Aug 13, 2005 -> 10:17 AM) Just to step back a minute, does anyone realize that she was also the one who played the teen daughter on Uncle Buck? Something about the smoldering pout she had in that movie got some guilt going for me... SFF
  7. QUOTE(Soxpranos @ Aug 15, 2005 -> 04:19 PM) By the Way Edmunds way above Rowand as well. At least when Rowand dives or crashes into a wall, he doesn't grimace, empty dirt out of his jock, and make a public show of his agony as if begging the fans to notice much he just sacrificed himself. SFF
  8. QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Aug 15, 2005 -> 04:04 PM) You are a brave, brave, brave (and foolish) man. I respect you for this type of honesty. I also agree that in that movie with Kline she was "cute". You know, behind the sharp facial features and "spazzy" (for lack of a better term) expressions, there is something there, I agree. She gets my nod as best "cell phone" girl. SFF
  9. QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Aug 15, 2005 -> 01:42 PM) Surprised these haven't seen light of day yet. These were my two loves when I was growing up: and And I still LOVE 'em!!! Oh yeah, Linda Carter and Erin Grey. I am with you there - although they are venturing towards "valid" crushes rather then "guilty" crushes. SFF
  10. QUOTE(Brian @ Aug 15, 2005 -> 12:47 PM) Kind of a celebrity. I'm probably too old for her though. Wow, just look at her. Wow. With that look, lets just say I bet the judge was happy he had a bench in front of him. SFF
  11. QUOTE(3E8 @ Aug 15, 2005 -> 11:19 AM) Yes, I was assuming the Reds would be willing to get his contract off their hands, which may not be true at all. Yes, I agree the Reds might not want to just give him away just to rid themselves of the contract. I meant, why didn't the Sox claim him so the Reds could either unload him solely to free up $$$ or trade him and get prospects. If KW/JR really wanted him, I would think they should have done that to give Linder as much incentive as possible to deal. SFF
  12. QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Aug 15, 2005 -> 12:40 PM) Loved Bailey...but I fell in with the rest of the world and was all for Jennifer. Funny, I almost named the dog in the other thread "Bailey", but told my wife I would always think of WKRP. ...that is Bailey...right??? Now that I look at her...I am suddenly unsure... Yep, that's Bailey, or as I call her, the "Mary Ann" of WKRP.
  13. How could I have forgotten: I wonder if she would have any inside info on the Griffey front?
  14. You know, if KGJ is such a priority for KW/JR now (and I think it is), and with Chris Young now going absolutely nuts in Birmingham, why didn't they just claim Griffey, offering to just take the whole contract straight up and without trading anyone? I mean, If JR is really willing to open the wallet... SFF
  15. I am not sure who my ultimate guilt is, but since nostalgia has come up, I do remember two truly guilty crushes: Vera from "Alice" (Mel's Diner) and (Welcome Back) Kotter's wife. SFF
  16. What a way to lose the distinction of most wins in MLB once the Cards win tonight
  17. From the Reds fansite: http://www.redszone.com/forums/showthread.php?t=39209 Check the post at the end - it says ESPN News will have a piece about it. SFF
  18. OK let's hear it folks. What odds would you lay that the Sox get him. For or against the trade, what do you think? I say the odds are 60-40 the KW lands him. SFF
  19. From the Dayton newspaper: http://www.daytondailynews.com/spor...813griffey.html SFF
  20. QUOTE(quickman @ Aug 12, 2005 -> 12:10 PM) Because Chris Young is a superstar, or going to be a superstar Right? Just like Borchard or Crede. Right? Chris young could get hit by a car tommorrow. THe Sox should not pass up an opportunity to get an elite player while they are positioned for the post season. This guy will put us over the top and the lineup will scare opponents in the playoffs a hell of alot more than it does today. we need left handed bats against the Angels, Redsox and Yankees. Expecially the Angels, I don't think they have a left hander worth a damn in the bullpen. Make the trade now. Please Agreed. If you want to talk "ceiling", you can give Young the ultimate benefit of the doubt and say he could be HOF. Still, his ceiling is no higher then Griffey's, and Griffey has reached it is at that level now, whereas Young may never reach it. Assuming Young does pan out, the only possible tradeoff is service time, but of course, it only takes one year to win a championship. SFF
  21. Hey, with the Griffey rumors heating up, I hunted for and managed to find the Red's main fansite forum. Although they have a couple of threads on it, they don't have any earth shattering news we haven't already heard yet. However, it is one more resource to keep on top of things. The main reason I bring this up, is that in looking through their threads, the Reds fans apparently have a deep dislike of the Cubs and Cub fans! Apparently, Sox fans aren't just jealous or neurotic because of the city rivalry. Cincy fans have similar attitudes. Here is the main thread discussing the Cubs: RedZone I have just read the first few posts but the thread is already a classic: I think we have some "sister" fans in Cincinnati! SFF
  22. Judging by the choices, I think the thread should be titled "Greatest rock songwriter of All-Time." They are all extremely talented, but IMO the greatest songwriter of all time is Cole Porter. SFF
  23. I love the part where she writes: "If the Twins can sweep this five-game series against Detroit, I'll go to the game every Sunday etc. etc. etc" and immediatey follows it up with a simple "I can't believe we lost three out of five to Detroit." That's some great dry humor there. Seriously, if she were a Sox fan/writer, we would be all over her in a good way, and you all know it. Maybe we should all chip in and really rock her world view by sending a flower bouquet or something... SFF
  24. Jerry, for heaven's sake, eat the Tucson stadium lease money if you have to and buy a hundred acres in Florida, some bases and chalk, and move the team back for next spring! If KW can land KGJ, the Sox will have more attention then a hooker on parole day - and score more, too! SFF
  25. QUOTE(Jeckle2000 @ Aug 11, 2005 -> 11:02 AM) Heres an interesting topic for discussion... Do you think he will ever start again? Personally I think he will stay in the bullpen for the rest of his career.... But I was wondering what opinion you guys had on it? I raised this question in a thread a few weeks back. Of course, he was originally put in the pen to get seasoned to be a future starter. It was great to hear him say he was happy with his role now, but I wondered "what if he hadn't been?". It would seem a catch-22: relieving well made him too valuable to start but relieving poorly would have made it too risky to start him. I posed the question of what he would have needed to do to earn a starting role back but got no answer SFF
