  1. Looking at the purchase price, and the current valuation, I would think he could take great pride in his stewardship. I'm certain most of his investors are happy as well. As an owner who seemingly had a leadership position among the owners for most of the 90s and early 2000s, he could take pride in being part of the fastest rise in valuation for all teams. It just is not what fans take pride in.

  3. If he doesn't pan out we know who to blame. Just laying the ground work.
  4. Great another prospect rushed to the majors.
  5. I find this much easier to believe than he has no pride.
  6. If every team won one less game and the Sox won 29 more, would that really make a huge difference to the game overall? Is that really the difference in ruining the game? Are fans anywhere else complaining about the Sox? Is a Pirates fan giving up the game because the Sox suck this bad?
  7. I've never met him and he doesn't do many interviews so I really don't have an opinion on if he has "pride". You don't think he's proud of his family or business accomplishments? And in the grand scheme of life I'm not certain that wins and losses for a baseball team is something I'd base my pride on.
  8. If JR spent about $75 million on a few free agents this team could win 50 or 60 games.
  9. He's had a good life. Successful business career. Nice family. Championships in multiple sports. I doubt he worries too much about our opinion.
  10. The other teams should be forced to give the Sox players to avoid the embarrassment and make the league more competitive. The other teams should force the Sox to field a team they could possibly lose to. The other teams should force the Sox to spend more on players, which also will force them to spend more. The league should allow the Sox to have the first draft pick which the other teams pick for the Sox.
  11. Aren't there more people living in the suburbs than the city?
  12. This. There are no sugar daddies wanting to bankrupt themselves buying championships. The Rangers won a championship after moving to Arlington.
  13. Could it be that JR listens to the people that work for him and they told him they improved the offense?
