  1. That's an interesting point. My guess is the better organizations will be finding hidden value in players who will benefit from the rules change. That won't be us of course.
  2. I'm wondering if return time from injury protection will start creeping up in more contracts.
  3. Aren't better players, by definition, better at situational hitting? Seems like our starters playing in more games would have helped?
  4. At this point I am think my third place prediction is more likely than winning the division but I'll scoreboard watch a bit. After @Balta1701 convinced me this roster is much better than the 2020 lineup, I'm now blaming in order Injuries then Tony. Hahn hasn't done as bad a job as I've been thinking. I thought this 25 man roster was worst than the past two seasons.
  5. Jean-Luc Godard. While it is true that every film has a beginning, a middle, and an end, but not necessarily in that order. He was the beginning of French New Wave and now has his end while creating an incredible middle.

  8. I didn't think I'd still be caring but here I am. I'm beginning to think I was wrong about this team.

    War in Ukraine

Damn, I want a six pack to celebrate.
  10. I'm scoreboard watching. I never expected to be doing that in September.
  11. Good point. Robert feels more like a continuation than a new injury. If it was June I doubt they would have rushed him back.
  12. When was the last person injured? That's also helping.
  13. Damn damn damn. I thought Alabama was going to be upset by Texas.

    War in Ukraine

Eventually I see some sort of settlement with an "independent" Ukraine buffer between Russian and Ukraine. I don't see Putin leaving without saving face in some way.
  15. I think it's a combination of disliking this team and all the fire Hahn talk.
  16. I guess I just dislike this team so much I can't think of them being actually better than any recent Sox team. I guess Hahn hasn't sucked that bad the last couple seasons then.
  17. Thank you. I'm also leaning that way. But eventually we'll eliminate human players as well. Might be a hundred years from now, but it seems inevitable to me that virtual reality will replace sports reality. B
  18. Is the team better than 2020? Tony still sucks but I don't think the team is better. Maybe I'm just so down on Harrison, Leury, the loss of starting pitching, depth at catcher, etc to see it. I'm with you in that I'd rather have Ricky.
  19. @South Side Hit Men you got my attention with most fans don't watch the playoffs only the regular season? What are you basing that on? The Field of Dreams game was the most watched regular season games with about 5.9 million viewers. Over 10 million watched the opening game of the WS.
  20. Oddly most of the public comments since Tony was hired have been positive. Liam even stated playing for Tony factored into his decision to come to Chicago. Tim has backed him. He gives guys too many chances in my book and is too loyal to players for my taste but I could see the guys playing for him liking that. We hate him, but our perspective is different.
  21. https://sports.yahoo.com/albert-pujols-doesnt-need-700-home-runs-that-just-makes-the-chase-even-sweeter-021905971.html I can't imagine stopping before hitting 700.
  22. I'm not certain that you always fire the GM when you fire a manager. Especially if by most accounts the manager wasn't the GM's pick.
