How would you respond to someone that said the diamond industry has employed thousands of workers, both skilled and unskilled, and there would be widespread poverty and famine if Africa could not sell a very valuable resource? That is the side of the equation I have always struggled with. The world stops buying diamonds and these people lose their jobs without much hope of replacement. That doesn't seem like helping to me.

I don't have a dog in this fight, but there hasn't been an original thought in baseball in 100 years. Adult Swim on the Cartoon Network. It has bounced a little between 10:00 pm and 10:30 on my system. For a while it was on after Futurama, now it is on before. Someone posted a message from the Family Guy site that another network was thinking of restarting a few episodes. Speaking of Futurama, andone else bothered by hearing Peg Bundy? I watched a Married, with Children episode then happened to flip to Futurama, weird. One thing we have to always remember, like The Beatles leading the way for The Who (greatest commercial R&R band ever); The Simpsons paved the way for every other adult "cartoon" on television. It also created some credibility for a network otehr than the big 3. There is a lot of ground breaking stuff happening with that show. How does everyone compare these to sit coms with humans? Better than Seinfeld, M*A*S*H, Friends, Cheers, etc.?

Abo, Did you do a full custom job like this: I've seen some really elaborate projects that are heirloom quality. The nice thing about that is you will display it for a longer time. Add Maddux to the Santo, Kessinger, line of ex-Cubs who we get at the end of their careers. Yes, I would love to see him in a Sox uniform this season and next. However he would be the number 3 or 4 pitcher in the rotation taking 1 or 2 money. Mentoring younger pitchers? Isn't that why we pay coaches? I guess I'm part way. I have been against about ever military action we have taken in the past 35 years. I also have the greatest deal of respect for those that serve our nation, and endevour to never disrespect that. I know if an enemy was knocking at our door, I will sleep better at night knowing we have the best equiped, best trained, military force in the world. I would not sleep better at night thinking men were being killeed because the President's approval rating slipped 6 points or his buddies corporation has a billion dollar investment in a country and it was being threatened. I believe as a citizen I have a responsibility to make certain the OWG in power use those forces judiciously. Not for political purposes, not for the enrichment of corporations or any other purpose, than our national security. I believe Americans run our government through our elected officials. Being a good shareholder means being diligent in knowing what the company (government) is doing. I have a problem with the America Love It Or Leave It crowd who in "supporting our Troops" blindly agree to send them anywhere at anytime to be shot at. Sorry, some very good humanitarian causes are not worth having Americans die for. I can support my Troops better by making certain they are fighting and risking tehir lives for something worthwhile. One of the things that pisses me off the most about the Vietnam War are the reports from the soldiers who were there; pointing out that the very citizens whose country we were there to save, were the first to high tail it out of rough spots and leave it to the Americans to die for. If we have to go in and help some country we damn well better be back up not the front lines.

I was wondering why King was left off them poll. But I would have voted for Family Guy no matter what other shows were listed. Those of us with kids probably appreciate the times when we are laughing and our kids aren't. Nice that once in a while they don't "get" something we do. At a Boy Scout function (OA to those that are familar) one of the guys brought the DVDs and a digital projector. One by one adults were coming in to see what everyone was laughing at and pretty soon they pulled up chairs and stayed.
