    Stupid Protest

The weird thing is, I swear they must have travelled to this thing. The group of protesters were way too white for down here. I noticed a few out of state plates but we get a lot of winter Texans so I couldn't be too certain. I am told by a well heeled friend of mine who dropped $10,000 into the scholarship fund to hear him speak it was a very interesting and entertaining speech. He went on about old people should step aside and let younger people have their chance. Too bad Reagan didn't take his advice.
  3. Are you using netscape? With 7.1 you have to do some of this manually. For example[ Step 1 click on the drop down menu before typing the text. For green it will insert color=green in [] brackets Type whatever you wish to be in green and click "close all tags" it will insert /COLOR in brackets. Basically with color it is in brackets color=red/blue/whatever to end it is /color in brackets They have to be [] not () or or {} The key is pulling down the menus before typing the words if you are using netscape. Just don't use a lot of green. I don;t want to run out of the green ink.

    Stupid Protest

President George H.W. Bush was speaking on campus last night and as I drove in on my way to class I had a weird 60s flashback. Long hair, peace signs, and picket signs. The one that caught my eye was Drop Bush Not Bombs All I could think is: Hey Idiot! It's his Dad the EX-President Speaking
  5. My thinking depends a lot on Frank's future. I believe Maggs is the heir apparent to Frank's role. The guy to build around for 6-10 more years. I'm probably old school but I like guys who play their entire career with one team because the team and the player want it. For those that say do not sign him to a long term contract, don't b**** when a player tests the free agent waters for the same reasons.

    Food Thread!

Italian, I miss it so. Easily my #1 favorite. Sushi, great down here, plenty of choices. German for me is eating memories. Especially my great grandmas baking. They owned a bakery in the old country. Fled as the Nazis came to power, brought the recipes. I use to eat at a German place just off the Kennedy on the way to the stadium. I forget the street. A Wal*Mart opened up across the street. The cook/owner was really interesting. One night he got us drunk and taught us how to eat. God put our nose right there to keep us safe and help us enjoy the food. Mexican, especially the sea food. Pork ribs. I need to be specific. We do a lot of beef ribs here. Texas BBQ. Some bristek, beans, rice, potato salad, onion, pickle, and jalapenos. Sometimes the chicken instead, or a pork roast. Texas BBQ is awesome, even PA might admit it.

    Sox statement made

I told you they only way they air "Sox" fans is if they are drunk and disorderly. Wear the Cubbie Blue and you are the lead.
  8. Mom has 10 kids and is prostituting herself to pay the rent. I don't know to cry or scream. That seems a bit weak. She is implying she was hooking 24/7 and couldn't get home for a couple hours? I doubt she got a "Pretty Woman" weekend deal. I wonder what life her kids are going to have.

    Off to NY

I didn't start listening to a lot of country music until the mid 90s. I am liking Yellow Card right now. And I'm looking to get tickets for Aerosmith and Cheap Trick cominbg to town. This is the biggest show since David Lee Roth played a local bar for a $10 cover My buddy and I got tossed for requesting Van Halen tunes I couldn't remember when he left.
  12. When did you taste PA?
  13. I remember one night crusing Michigan Avenue and LSD in a convertible with the top down listening to ole blue eyes. Oh what a night. Late December back in 63, what a very special time for me, but I digress. It actually was a decade or two after '63. It was the first time I spent any quality time with this women. Next morning she left for her home in New York and took my tape with here. We argued briefly if New York, New York or My Kind of Town was better but agreed that Vegas was probably his favorite place.
  14. Little Miss Dynamite, just blew my world away, It was a pitiful sight, me beggin' her to stay, I never had a hunch, so how was I to know, She packed a punch, that knocked my heart out cold, She put a hurt on this old cowboy, broke my heart like a little play toy, Brought me to my knees from ten feet tall, The night she left me in Amarillo, I cried crocodile tears in my pillow, The bigger they are, the harder they fall, How could a blue - eyed beauty only five foot three, Lay a Texas size heartache, on me She came across so cool, I didn't think that I'd get burned, Now I'm a big ole' fool, with a leavin' lesson learned, Thought I was strong, like ole' Hercules, She proved me wrong, with her little "Ce La Vie", She put a hurt on this old cowboy, broke my heart like a little play toy, Brought me to my knees from ten feet tall, The night she left me in Amarillo, I cried crocodile tears in my pillow, The bigger they are, the harder they fall, How could a blue - eyed beauty only five foot three, Lay a Texas size heartache, on me How could a blue - eyed beauty only five foot three, Lay a Texas size heartache, on me Joe Diffie Texas Size Heartache
  15. LOL, that was from when they were an indie band. For about 45 seconds I've always wondered how much a factor Kennedy's assisination had on the Beatles welcome to America. The time of year, the mourning period almost over and America looking for something, anything to feel good about again. No doubt they would have been big stars whenever, but just like we make jokes to release tension I believe we saw an enormous release of emotion that had been bottled up for months. We allowed ourselves to be happy again.

    no pizza in texas

A more truthfull sermon you may never preach . . . The first pizza shop may have been in NY, but they are so far behind Chicago in this culinary art form, this delicate balance of fats, oils, gooey cheese, spicy sausage, ahhh Hey Jim, what's your favorite beer for a sausage and cheese deep dish?

Spoken like a true New Yorker Sadly, you probably believe this. To a native Chicagoan, it's like saying a mother is a mother.

    What's a "good" BMI?

Hmmm if you should be a couple pounds heavier anyway, how much does silicon weigh? Seems easier than just eating a bunch more I'm joking Steff. As long as you are not starving yourself, let your body decide where you should be. Continue to eat a healthy diet and don't worry about the pounds. Oh crap. I just computed mine. I have to get on the treadmill, Good day y'all. 28.1 Just for grins I checked my college weight of 6'1 145 and found out I wasn't underweight like I assumed. I've only put on 70 pounds since then, is that too much

  23. Plus we have to remember that the Astros are actually considering Clemens their 4 or 5 starter. At least that's been some of the comments I've read down here. I find it hard to believe, perhaps taking some pressure off Clemens for thos provisions. My guess is if Houston is in the race after the All-Star game Clemens is too competitive to sit home.
