Bossier School Board upholds Advil expulsion Girl had over-the-counter pills in purse at school Melody Brumble / The Times Posted on December 5, 2003 A student expelled from Parkway High for a year for having Advil, an over-the-counter pain reliever, will not be allowed to return to the school. Kelly Herpin and daughter Amanda Stiles, a sophomore, appealed the one-year expulsion to a Bossier Parish School Board committee Thursday night, spending about 10 minutes with the board's administrative committee behind closed doors. The committee and the full board voted unanimously to uphold an administrative decision that Stiles be expelled to the alternative school. School boards hold such hearings in a closed session, but parents have the right under state law to request that such sessions be open. Herpin didn't make that request but did speak to reporters after the hearing. She left before the board voted on her request but learned of its decision by phone. "I'm not really sure at this point what we'll do," Herpin said. "I'm going to have to talk to my husband, and we're going to have to make some plans. I'm not sure we could afford a private school. We've been looking at moving to another area." For the rest of the story http://www.shreveporttimes.com/html/AE0F03...F1898F37C.shtml The school was searching for . . . OMG, cigarettes which would carry a one week suspension and found the motherlode, Advil. No word if it was sell weight or pepersonal use.

A new shock song from rapper Eminem wishes the president dead, the DRUDGE REPORT has learned... On the track WE AS AMERICANS, obtained by DRUDGE, the nation's top selling rapper shockingly rants: 'F**k money. I don't rap for dead presidents. I'd rather see the president dead. It's never been said, but I set precedents and the standards and they can't stand it... We as Americans. Us as a citizen. We've got to protect ourselves'...

We stretch from average highs of 60 in the winter to 105 in the middle of summer. We have beach and golf seasons. Flowers bloom year round. I will admit right now is absolutely perfect weather. By the time June hits we will be basking in 100 degree days for weeks on end so that sucks. But I'll trade weeks of 100 degrees for snow, ice, slush, wind chills of -anything anyday. We have 4 seasons, Spring, summer, bake, and broil. Nothing like wearing shorts to a hockey game and not freezing my huevos off.

Hmmm, snow . . . I remember . . . brrrrr . . . adios frio, hola caliente! The only way for us to get ice on the roads is if my margarita flies out of my hand.

How sad the courts had to decide between these two "un-fit mom of the year" types.

Woman gets 10 years for running over McDonald's manager By ANDREW TILGHMAN Copyright 2003 Houston Chronicle A McDonald's customer who flew into a violent rage when she was denied mayonnaise on her cheeseburger got 10 years in prison today for running over the restaurant's manager. Waynetta Nolan, 37, could have received as much as 20 years in prison for hitting Sherry Allen Jenkins with her car, dragging the employee across the parking lot and breaking her pelvis at the McDonald's in southwest Houston. Nolan showed little emotion this afternoon when the jury came back with the punishment after four hours of deliberation. Earlier this morning, however, as the jury heard testimony in the punishment phase of Nolan's trial, her 43-year-old victim tearfully said she couldn't pick up her grandchildren because of the injuries she suffered in the incident. "I put the mayonnaise on her burger," Jenkins told jurors. "I took the onions and the mustard off. What did I do?" The rest of the story http://www.chron.com/cs/CDA/ssistory.mpl/topstory/2268726

8-year-old accused of fondling classmates Associated Press MOUNT CLEMENS, Mich. -- An 8-year-old boy accused of fondling four female classmates will be the youngest participant in Wayne County's sex offender rehabilitation program, prosecutors said. The boy, who was not identified because of his age, pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor assault charge and no contest to a felony assault charge. He was sentenced Wednesday. If he completes the program, the felony charge will be dropped. The boy will receive individual counseling because the group sessions for teenagers are not age-appropriate, prosecutors said. The judge also sentenced him to two years probation. Authorities said the boy fondled a 7-year-old girl and touched three other 7-year-old girls inappropriately outside their clothing while the children watched "Mary Poppins" at a Mount Clemens school in May. Defense attorney Richard Marcil said he was satisfied with the outcome of the case.

The SS isn't going to make a difference, get pitching or we're f***ed. No way for E-Lo to win 20 again. Mark will win a couple more, E-Lo a couple less. We have to either get Colon resigned or find another.

Jackson's feeling bugged Michael Jackson Michael Jackson thinks authorities may be spying on him in his own home, we hear. The Gloved One is said to be so fearful that his Neverland ranch has been bugged, he's even looking at his teddy bears suspiciously. A Jackson insider tells us the singer believes that law-enforcement officers may have planted electronic surveillance devices in his mansion last month when they spent 12 hours searching the grounds for evidence that he molested a 12-year-old boy. "He ordered a sweep of the entire place," said the source. "They're even running the teddy bears through radio-frequency sensors to see if there might be transmitters inside." southsider, please clarify what you mean by universities graduate their athletes. From what I see and remember the university and the athletic program only contribute to the athlete not graduating. Scheduling of games and practices is tough on student-athletes but if the athlete does not avail himself or herself to the help that is available, it isn't the universities fault. To just pass the athlete along is wrong. The student athlete has to work harder than Joe Sixpack to graduate. Too many student athletes do not understand that and believe the are entitled to passing grades because they are averaging 18 ppg or have 8 sacks for the season. The other problem is some of these kids are in the university only because they have a nice jump shot or can run a decent 40.

Huh? Brando I believe he IS agreeing with you, am I missing something here?

mental health? He was my #1 pick on the staff last year to pitch a big game. I wouldn't be worried about his mental game and only minor worries about his weight. He's going to chew innings, keep you in most ball games, and be a good club house guy. I'm trying to think of a rotation in MLB that he isn't in the top 3.

Frank can take him under his wing

I agree 100%

Pardon me if I'm underwhelmed. I'm judging moves this offseason with the following thought "would that have been the missing piece for winning the division" and guess what? This isn't the piece. Why is it when we make a move somewhere in the guys bio is the phrase minimum salary? So far this off season our pitching has gotten worse. We may have a small gain at SS. We may have a very nice gain as manager. Sounds like seconmd place is stil ours. Whoop dee f***ing do
