  2. Is that really his quote? I couldn't find it anywhere. I suspected he had more smarts than that. :fthecubs
  3. sarcasm starts here -- The AL Central is such a riviting story with such marquee names; KC vs. Minny vs. Sox. (I can't get green to work) Come on, except for a few cities, nobody cares who the cannon foder will be for the Yankees, BoSox, A's and Mariners.

    Kobe update

And let's remember what we learned from Tyson. At any moment, up to and including penetration, a man or woman has the right to say no and activity must stop.
  5. I've got a hunch someone is coming off our 40 man in a throw everything at 2003 move. First time ever for that feeling. Still I'm happy we can win the division with what we got.
  6. I would really like to see a player to be named later, traded for a player to be named later.
  7. Damn, I like him. I really hate it when the Flubs hire guys I like. Takes some of the fun out of rooting for them. Palmero "Hi sammy, still using cork? Sammy "No, I need to come up with something else . . ." Palmero "Have you thought of Viagra?"
  8. http://whitesox.theinsiders.com/ Actually if you go to Soxnet.net all of that info is on there. This is actually the message board for that site... Well don't I look stupid --Me-- :dips***
  9. An opening page with current standings, last game's box score, etc. would be nice. Basically anything that keeps me from having to go to chisox for basic info. Other than that as always you guys are awesome. Thank you for the labor of love.
  10. Ribbie, thank you for keeping Ribbie and Rhubarb alive in our memories They actually get better with age. I agree there is a close connection to those teams.
  11. Gnawing thought in the back of my mind I would like to share. 6 Home runs is very nice but long ball is feast or famine. We've had way too many lean times this season. I'm more excited about double digit hits. Next week if we see everyone swinging for the roof at every at bat we're going to slide right back down the hill. Remember scoring 3 runs in a series against Detroit? This is basically the same team. Still gotta love them round trippers.
  12. Hose A gets Home A Home B and Home C :sosasucks
  13. Glanville, Isn't he the football coach?
  14. Sometimes the best trades are the ones that aren't made. I assume that someone from the Baltimore organization mentioned this to the reporter. They could be floating the idea out there of the type of player they would want to get. Good non trade in my book. I like Crede and would like to see him around for 3-4 more years.
  15. My God they are thinking post season experience!? Cool.
  16. 4-2 against KC and .500 against Oak and Sea would be just fine. 7-5 and keep moving. We need to start beating the inferior teams. If we can hold our own against the A's, Mariners, BoSox, etc. of the world and start beating the Tigers we will be fine. It's being swept by the likes of Detroit that have hurt our chances.

    Buehrle

While it is nice idle chatter to worry about 2007 may I offer a perspective based on 30+ years following this team? Please don't care about 2005. Win this year. I would rather mark go 10-2 the rest of the season than sign him for 2010.
  18. One of my Boy Scout Troop's Patrols named themselves the Funky Aliens. As we rode into camp this week they "Played that funky music" yep play that funky music to you die.

    Off to Camp

I just finished a week at Buffalo Trails Scout Camp in West Texas. Four of my older Scouts talked me into the Mountain Man Program. Way Way Cool. Drinking from a Mountain spring. Great food. long hikes in the mountains. Nice way to get away from it all.
  20. After a week of living the life of a mountain man in the Davis Mountains, I finally return to civilization Friday afternoon and find a local paper. With great trepidation on my part, I slowly turn to the sports section. Thumbing past the news on Texas League Baseball, I find the major league standings and what to my wandering eye should appear, but a 6 game winning streak! No articles just the standings. Would anybody care to give me the cliff notes version of what happened last week? I now have a dilema. It appears that we win when I don't shower for a week. This isn't going to work while I'm living with polite city folk.
  21. s***, I guess they kind of have to play him tonight.
  22. I think it is going to stay on the front page without pinning. Nice bit of history that chronicles all the different f***ed up things that have happened to this season. I kind of miss the fun days of being 0-3 and thinking we can turn this around.
