  1. Beer will fix that right up. Of course, based on personal preference you may wish to treat for glacoma first
  2. Flash would be cool. Set up guys don't get much respect.
  3. gotcha Iguana Every game played has a winner and a loser even the forfeits.
  4. I agree they haven't put up the same numbers as the start of the season. I just think they could right the ship and go on another big run. I don't think you should ever count out a team in front of you.
  5. You're going to look like a Pirate fan . . . Hope it heals fast.

    Good news

Dr. Koch were you brought in to consult on this case I'm inclined to agree with you. If the Doctors are cheering some movement in a foot it seems he should be more concerened about walking then playing basketball. He does have some things going for him. Great medical support all the way, young, athletic, in good shape. I would never count an human out of anything but the NBA demands a lot from the body and there is no place to hide. Can't DH.
  7. Iguana, didn't your momma warn you about hanging out with bad influences?
  8. Until KC swoons, I'm thinking this is a three team race. Barring major trades, I will be very surprised if more than 4 or 5 games seperates the Twins and Royals.
  9. cliche warning! You have to throw out the history book on E-Lo the way he's been pitching this year. Remember, he was going to fade in May, swoon in June etc. Just like Mark complained about the Hump Dome then pitched lights out. Same thing with Estaban and the 'rays.
  10. I don't see Maggs or Everett in an asg uniform unless it's as a last minute replacement. E-Lo is a lock to be on the team and a favorite to start but a lot may depend on his next two outings. Of Sox players, Frank should be the first position player picked. I think you are correct about an AL win. Most years I pick the NL but after looking at the voting the AL is looking good. We'll see how the managers do.
  11. It was until the 2003 Tigers came along . . .
  12. I discovered that if you add up every team's wins and compare it to every team's losses it is exactly even almost every year

    Ghosts

I believe they did in Ghost Busters I believe the ghost of Bill Veeck is hanging around Cominsky and smiling at us paying Alomar and Everett next to nothing.

    Good news

That is good news. I also like the team continuing to pay him. I imagine there is an insurance company covering this. Do you think he qualifies for workers comp?

    The Wave

I heard from a buddy of mine that he got up to buy a beer right when the wave came around and wasn't able to live it down the rest of the night. His buddies where busting his chop for being a ScRub fan.
  17. The debate really isn't about how good they were/are/or will be, the issue is are they a good fit for the 2003/2004 Bulls and I don't see what they would accomplish. They wouldn't even help sell tickets after the first week of the season. This could be billed as what The Rooks Reunited Tour? I cheered hard for both of those guys and am glad they played for the Bulls. But, like an ex-lover, it's rarely good to reunite. Hang Pippens jersey from the rafter when he comes to town and kiss him goodbye.

    Oreos

Double stuff? Isn't that a XXXX movie?
  19. The questions must be good. I nailed all the 2 pointers and nothing else. Can we count top 3 finishes? I can't seem to get over the hump.
  20. Not like the aquired a Met or Ranger
  21. I'm tired of potential. I'd rather have a guy that will produce in the mlb than someone who may produce. With free agency and all the bulls*** getting three to five season's in the ml from a guy is pretty good. Why waste time on a A or AA or AAA when you can make a move to help a team trying to win now. We have a draft every year and a few guys are going to turn heads in A, a couple in AA and a couple in AAA, maybe one or two will play for the ml club. After 30+ years of watching this, especially after free agency, develop your minor league talent enough to trade for a current producer.
  22. Let's see 4th of July I have to go with an American born player, I'm taking the Jefferson City Mo. native, the 6'2" 195 pound righthand hitting 3rd baseman Joseph Crede Seems like he plays better in the sunshine. Not that I have anything against Panama, Puerto Rico, Venezuala, etc.
  23. damn I wish we either had spell check or I slowed down when I type. Sorry for the spelling errors.
  24. We're still haven't demonstrated the ablility to close. Seems we are still letting teams back into games in the 7-8-9 innings. I believe Koch will continue to improve and I like Flash but they have also proved to be Botch and Flush at times. Who to trade? Do we have an extra right hand hitting outfielder or 1st baseman that could be part of a major trade? I don't believe we can move anyone else from our farm system without touching a top prospect to get anyone who could help this team. If we move someone from our mlb roster I would hope we get a solid star in the middle, not end, of their career. The big question in my mind is JR and company also willing to open the checkbook this month if things are looking really good. For example if we are in 1st by July 28 do we go shopping with cash, not just prospects? I think we reached just high enough to grab guys who are upgrades without giving away the farm. The nest move could be the biggest gamble of all.
