  1. I heard it as democrates and republicans. Still the best to in Chicago debate still comes down to our lack of success isn;t as bad as your lack of success. Damn I wish we were comparing WS wins. I would even trade two or three Cub WS wins for 3 or 4 White Sox WS wins. I might even trade straight up if we won first
  2. Question... How do you have the lineups before the game goes on the air? Is there a pre-game on FSN? Do you hear it on the radio? Thanks! actually if you go to MLB.com's gamecast of our particular game they usually have it posted about half an hour or so before the game. But FSN usually has them in the pregame, as does AM1000 pregame. Aren't the official, final lineups presented to the home plate umpire just before the first pitch? Until then, changes can be made, correct? Anyway, I'm upset now, because I get the Boston feed for today's game. I have the MLB Extra Innings package, and no Hawk/DJ. I suppose it's better than nothing, though. I love the away feed when we win
  3. cwsox, Do you believe people should be judged more on their actions or what's in their heart? Would it be more wrong, in this case, to believe that homosexuals are somewhat less than than human and do nothing or believe that they are the same as everyone else but scream hate and taunt just to be like a group you are hanging with?
  4. IN-STADIUM VOTING ENDS TONIGHT AT U.S. CELLULAR FIELD With in-stadium voting over tonight at U.S. Cellular Field the only way to get Sandy Alomar, Jr. (4th place) and Frank Thomas (5th place) to the All-Star game this year is by voting online. Cast up to 25 ballots at whitesox.com. Vote online now! http://lists.mlb.com/u/148391/9587661 Damn, I must have missed the fine season that Sandy is having.
  5. Sure is easier if a couple people pitch in. One way is to allow people to enter PTC and OU in the same email thread. Example: I'm taking Thomas and under Two different people can add up the stats. One guy tracks the PTC the other the OU. I would be willing to alternate with someone on the OU.
  6. Which goes back to something I wrote earlier. We get hung up on the language not the action. We can say dislike but our actions scream hate and vice versa. When we are afraid to speak our minds things begin to get weird. Discuss the emotion in whatever words you like. Rational people can discern what the hell your talking about.
  7. You don't get this kind of life changing material on mlb
  8. Like the last one, I'm expecting an overnight from amazon.com When I was living in Wheeling and working in Schaumburg I never would have thought of ordering books online. Here in South Texas we just now had a rreal book store open. I see Waldenbooks and WalMart are discounting the book trying to sell other Potter merchandise.
  9. statistics . . . 1001 ways to say we suck this year
  10. LoL thanks for the compliment and to answer ur question...... I think he could field a crew of 25 good hoes..... just cant find a good enough person manage his hoes.... so they dont perform up to snuff. Kenny William's Ho Down Come see us on Cicero Avenue before or after the game and for you north siders, we just added a new location on North Street.
  11. I had to buy two copies or my kids were going to be fighting over it.
  12. This team does seem to make a lot of mistakes. I can still see the look on Crede's face when he realized he need to actually tag the base on a force.
  13. 2000 years ago the people were very similar but their lives are very different. They would live their entire life (30 or so years) in the same area surounded by similar people with similar ideas. They worked much longer hours for a lower standard of living. A simple disease like the flu or diareha diahareera diahrea oh hell the s***s could kill them. On the human emotion side they loved their kids, enjoyed a good joke, were entertained by other people in plays, sports, etc. So we ahve been very similar in that regard for thousands of years.
  14. Not trying to sound like a troll, please don't take it that way but . . . What made your grandparents lives so much better than yours? My grandparents had the Depression and WW2. My Dad served in Korea, there was the cold war, etc. Housing is better today. Life is easier. Better health care. I'm trying to think of any Quality of life issue than is worse now. Nostalgia is for boring people living boring lives and Sox fans remembering our last pennant.
  15. your sig is the best. I lol everytime I see it. Do you think he (KW) could pick some talent and have them perform?
  16. Texsox

    WTF?

Which is why one should always be careful what one says. A lot would depend on the pitch thrown (fastball v. curve), and the testimony of a lot of expert witnesses. I believe in MLB history one person died from a beaning, in the days before helmets. I forget the circumstances, but I kind of remember there was bad blood between the players involved.
  17. Not saying that it was better then, but I do notice we have more ways of communicating and say less. Actually I see the under 25 crowd with more imagination and guts than the 35 to 60 crowd. We avoid conflict, smooth things over. The under 25 crowd will sow what they reap in another 15 years. Your stuck with what your parents started. As far as living lives to the fullest I think each generation has done better. I know I do more than my grandparents or parents and my kids are doing more than me. Education is definately better in a lot of ways. Each generation builds on the previous and the foundation that is being left to the current crop of 20 somethings is too polished, too phony. But in defense of my generation we didn't invent light beer, Zima, or wine coolers.
  18. lol. What was I thinking plus I was relying on a Bobby V. quote on baseball tonight me bad.
  19. Besides, Roman is what 16? He needs to grow as a person. He isnt gonna do that following or trying to make others happy. Every great lesson I have learned, is through a mistake of my own. I thought he was older. At 16 humans are so screwed up, especialy males. It is so easy to take a black and white view of the world and hate this or that. Then you get that job with a boss not like you or move into a house next door to someone not like you. After you get to know them you realize they are a lot like you.
  20. Texsox

    WTF?

I agree 100%. A pro knows how to pluck the batter. A beaning is dangerous and borderline criminal.
  21. Joe's too popular. Steinbrenner is stuck with him.
  22. Could be interesting, are you interesting in doing the work, or just the critisizing? me? or JUGGERNAUT? I wasn't criticizing. I love the PTC and if we have another game will probably jump in on that also. Not you Tex, sorry that's why I didn't include your post. I wasn't sure if I was seen as criticizing JUGGERNAUT for his idea. I didn't intend to. I also didn't take his comments as criticizing the PTC, just the team's efforts. It certainly is more exciting when you have to spend a minute or two with the box score to separate four or five players. I proposed a PTS as in pick to suck during one of my Sox really really suck phases. Who's going to have the most errors with game losing errors counting as double. How about bonus points on PTC? Only if the Sox lose.
  23. We can't hate anyone anymore. We sanitize the language. Worry about self esteem issues. We don't inflict our believes, opinions, or descriptions and accounts of the game on others. All very boring. I like speaking to people from different backgrounds, with different opinions, who make me think. Shallow comments without any substanance are generally a waste of time. I don't believe we are born to hate another group but it develops in our life. Perhaps through trauma, or a bad experience, or something as random as trying to get into a girls pants. (I professed to liking Barry Manilow music once just to get laid. Hey it was a nice concert)
