The one thing that Steinbrenner can say is he has gone out and got almost everything the manager and coaches have asked for. I would love to see George owning a team in Chicago as long as it was on the south side. Nice to know Zimms still alive and feisty. Whatever happened to Lee Ellia? I always thought he had the best insight on baseball fans.

It's fun when your winning, sucks when your not. I like Dibs on the radio most of the time. I thought he was a genious when he picked the Sox.

As I posted elsewhere, I keep telling myself . . . I will not get excited by one win, it will only hurt later I will not get excited by one win, it will only hurt later I will not get excited by one win, it will only hurt later I will not get excited by one win, it will only hurt later I will not get excited by one win, it will only hurt later But damn it was a good win! We can't win them all, only the next one. I'm not holding my breath that this will start a 7 or 8 game winning streak. Remember some teams have those! Wow what a concept stringing together 7 or 8 wins.

The more I think about the lawsuit the more unfair to the manufacturer this seems. I sympathize with the guy that got hit but why not sue the manufacturer of the ball? Or his parents for not giving him faster reflexes? The bat was legal at the time. We want our equipment to give us every advantage within the rules. Think golf, using this analogy if I shank a 1950s persimmon wood and hit a guy he wouldn't sue, if I used a Calloway ERC I could be sued!? Sorry, the bat was legal you took the risk when you play.

Hate to read more into this but . . . I'm wondering if JG was thinking "I only threw 98 pitches and want a complete game shut out" or "Botch!! Let me out there, I don't want this f***ed up"

I'm not going to care, it will only hurt later. I'm not going to care, it will only hurt later. I'm not going to care, it will only hurt later. I'm not going to care, it will only hurt later. damn

It's been a while since the season started but I don't remember Koch being "on". I would agree if the pattern in the beginning was on, on, off, on, off, on, on as I remember it was off, off, on, off, off, off Plus, as far as having him work it out wouldn't it be better to work out the problem in a 10-3 game vs. a 1-0? As if we ever have a lead. His problem may be adjusting to new team mates, stadium, pitching coach, etc.

"Actually I am fully in support of making prisioners work while they are in prision" And when their work takes jobs away from law abiding people do you still agree? Happened to my friend's business. He had to lay off 6 workers when a state prison won a contract that he had for the previous 6 years. 5 years for a fight. If this happened at the Dew Drop Inn in Stickney do you think the guy would have gotten 5 years? If this guy had attacked you or I he wouldn't have received 5 years.

I love the "ping" of an aluminum bat. Makes me nostalgic for 1973 The switch back to wood won' happen on a team by team basis, the NCAA would have to switch, then state by state at the high school level. All the way the manufacturers will be fighting and lobbying, it's the American way. I was in grade school when aluminum first hit the market and remember hitting my first home run when we switched. I know I batted bettr with aluminum. The early models would only last a few games then flatten out. You could really have some fun after the flattened a bit. Was it Frank T. or Robin V. who played wood as an amatuer so he would be ready for the pros?

You can bat a guy 1st, 3rd, or 7th and it doesn't make a damn bit of difference when the entire team manages 3 hits. I don't buy the b.s. that someone is comfortable batting in a given spot. By the second inning you might come up at any point in the lineup. The only reason I was more comfortable batting second was I figured I would have an extra at bat most games. Every player should be ready to contribute based on the situation. You might be batting 7th in the order but could lead off an inning, so get your ass on base. You might be 4th in the order but come up with a runner on second and no outs, hit behind the mfing runner and move him up. Let's get a little production then worry about fine tuning it. We aint the M's

Maggs

Using the kick in the ass theory we should win this one (game 2). Colon has been pitching well and there is no way we could commit 4 errors tonight.
-
Exactly, a reverse pick to click. With so much blame to go around, this could be more fun than seeing who can go 1-4. No fair picking JM, KW, or JR. At least if I had Crede last night I wouldn't have been so pissed. "Oh, I can't just stand near the base"
-
. . . at least have some fun. Who's going to really suck it up tonight? Errors, hitting into douple play, timely strike out, forgetting you have to tag the m-fing base, grooving a 0-2 fast ball for a round tripper, perhaps a wild pitch. I'll take PK
-
Just wondering what's being said on the sports talkers in Chicago? I'm assuming there has to be a fire JM and/or KW ground swell.
-
It doesn't f***ing matter where anyone hits or plays on this team.
-
7-7 7 back and I'm drinking 7 7&7s every 7th inning.

Frank How about The Pick to Suck! So many candidates
-
I'm still opto-mystic. No clue why. I agree with all the analysis that says we suck but, in the end, I keep thinking this looks like a team that could get in the playoffs. We may get swept once we're there, but at least have a post season. I can't believe that Maggs will finish the season under .300. I beginning to believe PK has something wrong and can't figure out why the team doesn't just deal with it now. Frank, I'm not so sure this is as good as it gets. The starting pitching for the most part is better than I expected. The closer less so. I thought this was a 7-3 maybe 8-2 stretch coming up with a major building of momentum now 6-4 may be a reason to rejoice. Still 6 out in May isn't that bad . . .

Who the f*** would want Carlos Beltran??????? Yep. he would definately mess up the great team chemistry we have going. Plus how could we get him in the lineup?
-
This team couldn't pour piss out of a boot if the instructions were on the heel.
-
Can we order a DNA test? Maybe he has a dorky twin brother who's playing this season for him . . . lol

They aren't hitting with the bases empty, they aren't hitting (unless dp count) with guys on base, they aren't hitting early, they aren't hitting late. Is it too much pressure? Is it diminishing skills plus undeveloped skills multiplied by a slump? I can't figure out what's wrong and I have zero faith that JM and KW can figure it out. When was the lsat time they looked like they were having fun? Have the time it looks like they're holding in a bowel movement. You have to still have hope but the only path to the playoffs will be to catch the Twins and Royals.
