Wonder how his teammates look him in the eye.

It's going to take more than a couple wins and seeing Rowand to get me excited. Fool me once . . .

It really depends on how the parents handle it. The kid is doing a commercial like hundreds of other kids. If the parents can keep it in perspective and the kid can keep it in perspective he won't wind up any more screwed up than other young adults in America. I am hoping that Reebok is saterizing Nike. I just may buy more Reeboks if that's the case.

The booing seemed to be unfair. I was expecting Broduor but thought Giggy was very deserving. The way he played against Dallas made me a believer. That 5 overtime game was incredible.

LOL which along with being a Sox fan, doesn't speak well for my intelligence

This is cool, Carlton Fisk is also the Red Sox greatest catcher I wonder how many more players would be on two teams all time list. Ruth? That pitcher who won a Cy Young with the ScRubs then bolted with no return I forget his name. Maddux?

This is the first time I've done a league on Yahoo. If I'm late for the draft how does Yahoo handle it? I just found out I'll be in Mexico for part of the afternoon. I'm hoping for a speedy trip back.

Hmmm. Hard to argue with that list. It's shame that not everyone on the list is in the HOF and at least one isn't wearing a Sox cap, oops I mean White Sox cap. Great memories. Who on this current team has a chance to make the list? About the only one I can think of is MB or Maggs and they have a long way to go.
-
poor fielding!! OMG on this team how can you tell? I don't think we have a Golden Glove candidate on this squad. It's an adventure on every fly ball or grounder. Years from now I'm going to remember this team like a big old clunky stationwagon with a loose spark plug wire. Sometimes she runs like top and sometimes she kinda limps along dropping body parts. Unofficial and the PTC here might not mean anything but here's the stats Picks to Click Player wins (Regular Season) Magglio Ordonez---6 Frank Thomas--7 D'Angelo Jimenez---4 Carlos Lee--3 Joe Borchard--2 Jose Valentin--3 Joe Crede---1 Paul Konerko--- Tony Graffanino--- Sandy Alomar--- Armando Rios-- Miguel Olivo--- Brian Daubach-- Willie Harris--- Aaron Rowand-- Josh Paul---

Frank for the 2nd time this week.
-
Damn I forgot we break ties. I thought I had 3 in a row with Lee.

I recall some very good Oakland teams that seemed to hate each other. They won nicely. ANd on the hockey front the last Stanley Cup appearance by the Hawks was with a super wacko Mike Keenan pulling more strings than a puppeteer. I hope PK gets so pissed off he goes 3 for 4 with 5 RBIs and then Frank is so pissed he follows with 4 for 4 and 5 RBIs.

Unfortunately we have a mold for our stars and Frank isn't always fitting that mold. So much of human communications is people's perceptions of you. If I think you are a whiner, whatever you say will be processed through that filter. If you are shrugging your shoulders, turning away, etc. that will determine what I think. If I have to ask a question three times instead of once before it's answered that will influence the way I process your answer. From what I have seen and heard Frank is the kind of person who's friends will comment "I'm certain that is not what he meant or you have to know him to understand what he was really saying." That is dangerous for someone in the public eye. Reports aren't claravoyant (spelling?) and I think they don't "get" Frank.
-
Where can I buy one? Just kidding. What a stupid idea. The screw up the game last year by mistake. Last year was a slow steady series for dumb decisions. Now, in one year, they activly commit a few errors. Amazing. Don't forget to vote for every NL stiff. We want that home field advantage.

But which color did Van Halen want removed from their backstage food spread?
-
I believe you are 100% correct and in this age of ass kissing PR driven players (think hopping and blowing kisses) he may come off as whinning or selfish. When in fact he is the opposite.
-
Good point. I wonder what his career numbers would have been if he played in the NL. I'm thinking his HOF position would be much better. It would be a crime if at the end of his career he isn't voted in, an even bigger misjustice than a certain Chicago 3rd baseman from the north side.
-
Would you agree, using only his on camera quotes, that Frank could have used some PR lessons through the years? MLB has rarely promoted him as a league superstar while others with lesser skills and stats have been. He has made some publicity blunders, and at times has left an impression to some as a whiner. In his defense many times it was him offering his honest appraisal of the situation.

I love the "W" for White Sox ones the best Unfortunately only about half of a bag are "W"s the rest are "M"s
-
For all he's done over the years for this team if Frank wants to play shortstop I'd let him. Fortunately he's smart enough not to. My favorite scene this season was Frank sprawled out at first from reaching (successfully) for a throw from 3rd. That was the biggest smile I've seen on his face in years. I wonder what kind of career numbers Frank would of had if he played his career in the NL?
-
Frank is one of the only players in baseball that when he comes to the plate I'll drop everything and watch. I am a huge fan of his when he steps into the batter's box. Outside the box his "game" drops off terribly. It saddens me when Shammy can be "the most popular man in baseball" and Frank doesn't come close. The fact that there are so many passionate anti-Frank fans out there means something. There are so many lesser players with better PR.

So can we agree now that we won the Colon trade?
Texsox replied to sox-r-us's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I thought it was a winner from day 1. For all the b****ing I've done about the man, I have to agree on this one, he did a great job manuevering it around. Thank you Mr. Steinbrenner. And KW did ok too. -
90 degrees, sun is up, birds are singing, and the Sox scored 10 runs last night in a win. ahhhh the world is good
-
The Edinburg Roadrunners just had their Boy Scout night Saturday with giant fireworks show and a win! Some great baseball. My favorite was a hit and run with the batter going opposite field to the hole when the 2nd baseman moved to cover 2nd. I love sound fundemental baseball. Worked just like a movie.

Two in a row last week with Frank. New week so I have to keep riding him. Go Big Hurt
