If they do dump JM it will be for an interim type of guy to be replaced by a permanent person during the off season. It would also be KW last chance. Speaking of our friends up north, I just talked to a buddy who works for the Houston newspaper and the guys around the Astros organization are privately (or so he says) believe the Cubs are in it for the long haul and feel this is their (Astros) last chance for a few seasons. They actually are thinking a couple year run for the Cubs Makes my stomach churn if we aren't winning also.

I can't remember a Sox team who has disappointed me more. I wish I had followed my usual rule of not looking at baseball until the NBA playoffs are finished. That way if the team really sucks I only have to care until football season. Here it is early June and already I can't stomach another game. I can't even get pissed anymore. Does this Sox team have the greatest drop from expectation to performance?

If a ptc doesn't play (not just doesn't start, he may pitch run/hit) does it count as a pick for the 2 picks rule? I know I have until the first pitch to change but that isn't always possible. Also can we pick by position? For example taking whoever is DH or Catching, etc.

Excuse me but I thought we had a great 1-2 solid 3-4 and who cares really about the 5th starter. The pitching isn't any better than I thought way back when. The positive difference is E-LO the negative is Buerle. I think it (the pitching) just looks better standing next to our pathetic, anemic, offense.

Yes, there is a difference and that is why IMHO the mlb policy doesn't pass the common sense test when you hire from within. Why parade around someone for the sake of looks and then hire the white guy? I hate hollow gestures. The Marlins where suppose to find a couple of minorities, bring them in, then promote their guy. How does that help the guys that get the sham interview? In fact it hurts the guy because later when a position does come up that they really have a chance at people start thinking this guy has interviewed for 4 Managerial jobs and never got one, I wonder what's wrong with him? Was there a little throwing at batters in the later innings? I was "watching" on gameday and it looked like Kock and Marte both were working "way inside" on a couple of batters. I was questioning pulling him after a strike out. I'm starting to feel a bit more relaxed when I see Koch coming in.
