The hardest thing to sell is a bad version of a product that others have readily available. I would argue is even hard to sell Chicago to players from outside the Midwest. Those that want year round warm temps are getting south. NY and LA have better side money potential and equally good night life. The AL Central is a boring division without a marque. State taxes are high and that's half your games. Selling time shares in Branson may be easier.

As I've said, the Sox have to overpay, perhaps considerably, to land a free agent. Now that may be a couple million to a low of medium FA, that could be twenty or forty million to a premier free agent. No wonder we don't land them. I don't think it's a worse version. It was a family decision. However *they* want to spin it doesn't really matter. No one disputes it because it doesn't matter and allows everyone to save face. And thank you for that example. Jake is a perfect example of a player on a decline who lands on our roster. Former this and that. I think we agree it's a tough sell as the Sox GM. Players aren't exactly lining up hoping for a call from Getz. And it won't any easier until there are huge changes, starting in the chairman's office.

I'm some organizations they actually make offers that are reasonable and actually acceptable to the player. So it probably won't happen.

I believe the hope is they extend him before he hits FA. Which probably also warrants a The f?

Thank you for the permission to spin it any way. "It's my wife, not me" is a wonderfully modern strategy. She also made some great financial transactions, she consulted with foreign governments, and she flew a US flag upside down. Translated, my career may get so bad down the line I would sign with the Sox, so I'll find an excuse like " it's not you, it's my wife. Bro, you know how it is, happy wife, happy life." It actually doesn't matter why, it's another example of the Sox needing to over offer to obtain a player. Anyone ever waive a no trade clause to come to the Sox?

His future is summers with his wife Ali and their daughters. He reached for the gold ring and his head smacked into the horsey on the merry go round.

Across the league? Or LA versus Pittsburgh? There are lots of variables. The Sox are capable of offering a contract to a middle of the rotation guy. They will likely have to overpay unless the guy likes pitching to small crowds and no run support. He will probably be coming off an injury and be willing to accept a prove it contract.

Membership is free just like here. There is a secondary tier for $12 which gets you some cool swag.

Since we're chasing the 61 Mets for worst 162 have record, it should be noted after 8 short years of sub .500 baseball they won a WS in 69. 2032 Baby

They were a dumpster fire before the term was popular.

Which is fine. He's an upgrade. But how about a fresh face from outside the organization to start next year?
-
I'll write off this year. Any replacement will be temporary and likely from within. I want to see someone from outside and not a bottom feeding organization.

Interleague killed the rivalry.

Grab a fiddle, the devil will make you a deal.

I'd be really interested to see how he does. My guess is he'd do well.

Isn't that true of basically every manager and GM? Coming here is career suicide.
