  1. How many times have we fallen for that same play? Anybody would be better than TLR.
  2. If we're going to be bad, is way more interesting to watch 125 Ways to Lose a Game. Let's just have everything go bad.
  3. This is (probably) a once in a lifetime opportunity to watch the pinnacle of suck.
  4. He's not blocking anybody from getting time and there are no free agents to sign. What would be gained?
  5. I love baseball, so I'm going to watch someone play. It's just not these guys.
  6. They can ask. Would you give up more for a month or two?
  7. Choice Hotels is a favorite for my business travel. And I'm usually booking four rooms at a time. The free nights hit quickly.
  8. I think we need rose colored glasses.
  9. There is a lot of truth to this.
  10. I'm with SS on this one. Do you have to respond to every question? Did it affect the outcome of the game? Plus, who knows where Crochet was? For all we know he used it as an excuse to get home. He wasn't playing and needed to get some sleep. I think Pedro talking to him could wait until today.
  11. I get that way when JR makes a threat. My thought is then move you asshole. But someone pointed out that as an out of town fan that's really unfair. Which I think is fair. I do miss my ignorant fan days when I'd just go to game after game not knowing how horrible the franchise really was.
  12. Because the past is just a goodbye
  13. I'm cheering for records. I was an active fan for the best team of my generation and damnit, I'm going to be an active fan for the worst team. Psychological it's awesome when you are pulling, cheering, praying, hoping, wishing, for your team to do something and they do!!!! Does it really matter if it's a win or loss? I think we should have a Statue of Liberty night. With silent lips. "Give me your injured, your losers, Your washed up masses yearning for a check, The wretched refuse of other teams. Send these, the felons, tempest-tost to me, I lift my scorecard beside the locker door!"
  14. It's kind of ironic that we're mentioning another Sox pitcher, Tommy John, in this conversation. Tommy was a good and decent family man. A borderline HoF pitcher and someone any Sox fan would want to introduce their kids to.
  15. I have had many conversations with the high school coach here as I tried to understand all of the rules designed to speed up play (pitch runner for the catcher) and protect players (pitch counts,) etc. I was lost within a couple seconds. He is a former pro pitcher and a student of the game. What he said made sense to me. Like all muscles, those used to throw need to be stressed, then recovered, to grow. That number is different for each player. So the number seems to not stress too much many on his staff. They could throw more. But a few kids are maxed with the max.
  16. That's going to be a PR nightmare but it seems like the right thing to do.
  17. He was always in the bottom 20% but never last from all of the reports I read. He was consistently bad and never got better. It seems like he just had a longer career the folks each year ranked lower improved or moved on.
  18. What a memory. I loved this line Meanwhile, St. Louis Cardinals players and coaches were sympathetic to the Marlins' situation, agreeing to take some extra batting practice. However, manager Tony LaRussa said that because the team's plane was scheduled to leave at 7, they could only wait for Steve for another hour, tops.
  19. When I first had Bulls tickets they did a meet and greet and kissed my sss. Then they hosted an all star game, drafted a guard, built a new stadium, and screwed me over.
  20. Especially if you're not a AAA or MLB level player.
