2023-24 NFL Season Thread
Texsox replied to CentralChamps21's topic in A and J's Olde Tyme Sports Pub
There are still a lot of question marks and inconsistency in Fields play. I think the Bears are trying to create as positive of a situation as they can for their #1 pick. A weekly controversy over who should be starting isn't how they want this to unfold. If they had a veteran who figured out how to stay in the league, help guide him along, it would be different. But trying to develop two QBs when you've never managed one, is just too big of an ask. -

All in on Williams. I really hope he has a long and successful career. This would be a horrible heartbreak if a hopefully once in a lifetime first pick is a bust. Is there a billy goat type curse on Bears QBs? -

Sox speaking about bringing back Clevinger
Texsox replied to PolishPrince34's topic in Pale Hose Talk
And if you consent to some rough sex you consent to everything including being choked until you pass out then continuing to have sex while unconscious? Let me help you with that. 1:10 in will get to the important part. I actually give a s%*# about infidelity and would never cheat on my spouse. But you be you. -

Whatever. -
I'm in the inc. One, it's so preliminary and dependent on factors that the Sox can't control. Example, if Cease blows out an arm next month it's an easy A win. I do think the team received as much as they were going to getz. Everyone in the league knew the Sox wanted to move him. Hot take it's a B and they were never going to get an A level return.

British co-worker asked why no relegation system in MLB like the EPL?
Texsox replied to caulfield12's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Expand the playoffs to sixteen teams with only those teams getting a share of the playoff revenue and a greater share of the national TV deal. Relegation by revenue. -
Everyone has announcer examples, I'm trying to think of a player? I can't.
-
Seems like players are treated differently. Can you think of a player treated like Benetti?
-
You didn't think players are different than announcers or secretaries?

Does their paycheck really depend on it? I can think of guys like Rocker with homophobic comments, or Campanis with racist comments, getting fired but I can't think of anyone getting fired for calling out teammates or the manager. Bottom line, players can't manage themselves. They need coaches and managers. They all failed. It really doesn't matter if they liked the guy or not. I think most folks like working for a manager who leaves them alone. So it doesn't surprise me they liked working for TLR.
-
True in most situations without multiple year contacts. They could have just said something neutral but actual were positive. You didn't believe them which is the position I think of most Sox fans. Lying or not, the bottom line is they failed and it's likely they need a manager, they can't manage themselves.
-
Are you thinking they received a bonus for saying positive things? I know it doesn't fit the narrative we believe, but I'm not going to dismiss their public comments to guess what they really felt. If we are going to make some guesses I'll go with the guys appreciated a manager who left them alone to be professionals. And we learned that young professionals today need someone on their ass to perform.
-
The biggest surprise for me was TLR stayed out of clubhouse matters. Guys initially we're actually happy to play for him. Luis and TA had positive things to say. Liam said it was a positive reason for him to sign with the team. Only a few guys have ripped him after leaving.

Will any team give Trevor Bauer a last shot?

Too bad he can't be "manipulated" into not being a dirt bag. -
JR: have we done all we can to crush the few reminding fans at Soxtalk? Whomever will listen: Greg still has room to be even further depressed. JR: I have an idea!

No. Sorry Bob, I don't believe I can. I'm still trying to figure out how we got ChiSox. -
I still think week is misspelled in the thread title

Horrible for Nashville, perfect for Vegas.

I spend a lot of time camping, backpacking, hiking and have literally seen hundreds. One state park in particular is loaded with them.
