LaRussa part 2. I liked part 1. Like most movies, the sequel sucked.
One thing I really respect about Bevington is his love for the game. He was managing in an independent league when I met him. He really looked like he gave a damn on a 103° night in front of hundreds of opposing fans.
Cut two games off the regular season and make it a 8 game playoff. Personally I'd love December Madness with a 32 team playoff. Couple you image the betting possibilities?
I agree. I'd love to see college football have a 32 team playoff, almost like basketball. Cut the regular season short.
But I also want to see baseball cut back to a 150ish game season and add two rounds of playoffs. But there are traditionalists who want the regular season to "mean something".
He's definitely a guy that was only going to go to a team really serious about winning a World Series. Big move by the Tigers. I'm certain they are cheering this signing all over Michigan.
I can't wait until they eliminate the draft and just make every player a free agent.
Until then, a bird in the hand. I'm hoping for the highest pick this year. Live for today and don't worry about tomorrow.
I like this move. Hopefully he works hard this off-season and continues the positive trend. The downside is we're not exactly the destination for healthy playing.
Because not many folks want guys rushed to the majors like Vaughn.
It's "give the young guys a chance" until they under perform then "blame the team for rushing them."
I'm finding Ranger fans to be very nice. Jerry, it's not you, you're you. It's me. I'm not good enough for you. You'll find someone new. I may even keep you some as a side chick. As your grandkids what that means.
Texas A&M won't have to look very far for an excellent candidate. Jeff Traylor at UTSA would be a great fit. But he may be too much of an idealist for them.
I went to a lot of games in years that there were no chance of a playoff appearance. I really wish I could get back to that mindset. Bring at the ballpark, seeing some good plays from either team. Just the experience.
