We knew it was over. Time to start again. They are clearing the decks. I've worked through the stages of grief and will watch what unfolds next. After living through the darkest days of being a Sox fan I just won't allow my self to invest that heavily in something I ultimately have no control or even input into.

It's been a month, much has happened, how are we feeling?
-
He's worth less to the Sox and the other bottom 10 clubs than to a top 10 club. Without two top tier clubs desperately looking for a #3 or #4 to put them over the top, he won't fetch what he's worth. The Sox will get what he's worth to them, almost nothing. They don't really need him and everyone knows it.
-
Then we'll say they rushed those guys like Vaughn.
-
If the Sox lose in the woods and no one is there to see it, did they lose?
-
I think a 20 game losing streak is possible.
-
I don't think the only care about money is valid. Perhaps if they don't care about money because they ain't getting an over the top package from JR. Can't get a job anywhere else is the pool we have to pull from.
-
Let's remember we don't want to rush anyone like they did Vaughn. So pick guys that likely would not see a MLB roster in their lives and bring them up.
-
Or playing for the Sox sucks that much he'd take a pay cut to go somewhere else.

Paul Janish Hired as Director of Player Development
Texsox replied to DirtySox's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Any organization that willingly avoids any information or opinion is making a mistake. The key is what they do with that information. "Tony, wake up. What do you think about this guy?" "I like him. Good hire." Now comes the key. A good organization will keep looking based on his track record post HoF induction ceremony. Our problem is we don't. -

Surround yourself with people who are better, smarter, and more capable than you are is an old business adage. For Getz that is so easy an assistant college coach and high school coach with zero MLB experience meet the criteria. -
TL:DR worst team in baseball with no hope of recovery.
-
Nothing I love more than reliving memories of the HoF guys that have come and gone. No, not you.

A really good friend of mine while in high school attended basketball camp at Indiana. On the final day they met Coach Knight. He said Knight spoke about basketball and character like our Parish Priest spoke about God.

We already knew a wildcard team would win the WS. Instead of teams playing meaningless games in September those fans can still dream of a WS even if they are out of division championship chances. Division championship banners are nice decorations for some franchises, but a WS win is so much more.

Baseball needs to shed about ten teams that nobody cares about.

Pops has faced 307 different head coaches during that time. If he's not the GOAT he's close.

White Sox on this Day - Things to be Grateful For.
Texsox replied to Texsox's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I love that I now use my White Sox t-shirts for dirty nasty jobs hoping they get ruined. I have particularly targeted "The Boys Are Back" 2021 Opening Day T-shirt. -
I'm certain Vaughn wishes he spent more time in the minors. Riding buses. Working with the minor league staffs. The stuff dreams are made of. He probably fought like crazy to not be moved up. Told them repeatedly he couldn't play the outfield. But they didn't listen.

That's something I wouldn't have believed. Thank you for the insight. Let's hope this guy is worth 5 or 6.

It's been 25 days since the last White Sox loss. That hasn't happened since April 2023.
