  1. Eleven years of crap players with shitty attitudes.
  2. Wouldn't be great to have dozens of banners everywhere. Pro JR, Con JR. Pro Pedro, Anti Pedro, Getz, everyone in a banner war. Just fill the stadium with banners so no one has to watch the play on the field. Much better experience.
  3. They are definitely a huge part of the problem. Now you have to have a solution. Do you honestly believe it's more likely to sign players with the same potential as these two former all star level players or that they play better? I see Leury Garcia level free agency replacements. For the quickest turnaround we have to hope they return to near form.
  4. Exactly right. The quickest way back is also the most unlikely. Those guys grow up, reduce distractions, and play baseball.
  5. I truly believe him. I really don't think he hates the fans. I do believe his priorities are different than ours. While we believe in winning at *all* costs. He believes in winning at *some* cost and that it is a cost that he believes is reasonable. I don't think he's a bad person. I'm certain he'd be great to have a bees knees with. If building a championship team was easy everyone would do it. So Jerry, it's not you, it's me. But we need to see other people. I've spoken to my lawyer and he thinks I should get the team in the divorce. Let's put it up for sale, you count your money and keep playing the 2005 video and masturbate yourself to sleep.
  6. Everyone lived! And someone learned a valuable lesson about playing with guns.
  7. Throw back Thursday post of the year! Y'all want a positive? The organization was so bad under Kenny and Hahn that Getz couldn't make the changes necessary. He was the only one screaming the right answer while everyone frantically pushed buttons. He heroically wrestled the controls from the terrorists sending the train over the cliff and will be amazing. Why? Because damnit the cosmos owes us one.
  8. It's so bad my Cub loving friends won't roast me.
  9. Great job Jerry. I didn't think you could make this horrible decade any worse, yet somehow you did. Now go get us a great new stadium.
  10. Win quickly. That's a premature celebration.
  11. And that's White Sox baseball. Let's buy that man a new stadium so he stays in Chicago.
  12. Good point. And I would trust you over Getz to turn things around.
  13. Seriously, who in their right mind would take this position? If you actually have a promising career, this will kill it. The smell of desperation clings to everything.
  14. I ran like crazy whenever we had any chance of one. During Dolly we were 70 miles inland and that was too close for me.
  15. What happens next is really simple and very predictable. Fact: No one we like will take the job. The interview process will be JR handing them a press release and asking them to read it as if reporters are in the room. "I'm excited to be the White Sox GM and to bring a championship to the great fans of Chicago. I especially appreciate the challenge of doing so without signing anyone to a nine figure contact, keeping pitcher contracts to under five, I mean four years, and no farm system to build on. It would be overwhelming but knowing I have a Hall of Fame guy looking over my shoulder will make it easier!"
  16. We've been through these cycles multiple times. We've created an opening for some new players to step in. Odds are a couple will be fan favorites. It's almost winter.
  17. "The Angel coaching staff ruined those guys. Katz will fix them right up." Said no Sox fan ever.
  18. Ozzie quietly many weeks before the last two games. While you guys know I enjoy piling on this crap of a franchise there are some moments in our history that I'm pretty damn proud of as a fan of this team. Larry Doby breaking the color line in the AL comes to mind. Baines and Goodwin.
  19. It's cannon fodder. Either a career going up or a career going down. I'd rather start sometime on the way up and lose
  20. Interesting point, who initiated it, who needed to approve it, anyone going to own it? Could be check the wind and give your hand picked candidate a boost.
  21. The safety issue I'm addressing is that the Rate is unsafe and she therefore needed it for protection. I don't believe she needed it at the Rate, in the parking lot near the Rate, and probably not anywhere on her trip home. You are bringing up a different issue. Is the Rate unsafe because she was successful at smuggling it in? I hadn't even thought of that angle.
