  1. But much like the folks that embrace the tank but don't enjoy the losing the "just move asshole" crowd doesn't want to see the team actually move. Chanting sell the team for a couple decades has done nothing. That shows engagement and caring. Indifference is what would really hurt. He knows he can win back passionate White Sox fans. He can f*** us over all day and we keep coming back as soon as the product in the field is good. Winning back fans who don't care is much, much, harder. That will get his attention.
  2. I don't believe anyone had helped me to hate this franchise as much as you. Thank you. I blindly just enjoyed Sox baseball. Kind of thought we were a middle of the road franchise. I never knew just how fucked up this franchise has been.
  3. A week ago I was accused of trolling each time I said move the damn team. Nice to see the idea is gaining momentum. Chicagoland may go a couple seasons without a second team but someone will move in. Possible expansion to 32 teams. The Cubs will see a bump in attendance as the casual fans enjoy the northside. Life goes on. Nashville is a great city and road trips to see the Sox will be fun for the folks that keep them as their team. I think a big stadium in Mexico is better for baseball. During JRs ownership the Bulls managed to build a solid team that complimented Jordan. He also got new stadiums built for the city that we've all enjoyed. I'm not going to take that away from him. It's tough to win championships in sports. He got himself a bunch. He made a lot of money for his investors. At the moment things are bad and the criticism is flying his way. But in the end I'm certain he's happy with the life he choose.
  4. Gives them a chance to rehearse the answer before the coaches start asking those questions. Lol
  5. This is an all time crap roster, Pedro stepped into a bad organization, with bad player leadership, and followed a manager who was battling health issues and wasn't taking an active role in building any culture. We've watched their every move for years and didn't pick up in how bad things were internally. I'm fine with giving him a chance at year two. The team isn't going to be in the playoff hunt. The replacement we get will have less experience as a MLB manager than he has. I'm also fine with showing him the door.
  6. I'm going to remember this win for minutes.
  7. Yawn. It's a good time for Kenny to take a well deserved retirement. Thank you for 2005. Hahn needs to be promoted. Nice job fooling Vegas and most baseball analysts for a couple years. Then stay in your office reorganizing paperweights and watching your investments. Hire someone with a nice resume for GM. It really won't change anything, it will be the same make the playoffs once every ten or fifteen years organization, but with a new shinier smile. New guy promises to get Pedro the players he needs blah blah blah
  8. Eventually they could. Create Jerryland. A stadium with the team (shareholders) being landlords to multiple shops, bars, restaurants, hotels, parks, fitness centers, and other businesses. Renting space, developing buildings. All in a master planned community benefiting Jerry and his investors. Bwahahaha but he'd be stupid to leave the city. The Rangers generated about $40,000,000 this year from the businesses surrounding their new suburban stadium and sit atop their division. Winners all around.
  9. When JR builds that suburban park he will also follow the Rangers' lead and own a piece of the hotels, restaurants, and bars that will also be built adding to his revenue streams. The team will also rebound like the Rangers and have a winning season. Or not. Just because it's working in Dallas doesn't mean it will work in Chicago.
  10. I'm checking the Rangers' scores. They may become my second team.
  11. I wish the last month of the season was just for teams with actual mlb talent.
  12. Kenny pissed you off. The Marlins went straight to Kenny. Know who pissed you off* *Eventually it is everyone in the franchise for one hundred years.
  13. Remember when we thought he'd do better at first? Happy days.
  14. The only thing worse than September games that don't matter are August games that don't matter.
  15. Only two were inducted as managers. The rest earned their way as players.
  16. Thus making winning the AL or NL meaningless. Then winning a division was made less meaningful. We still crown a champion, fans celebrate, some mourn. I prefer head to head deciding a champion, you like how well they play against other opponents. Right now we have teams playing playoff meaningful games in many cities. Maybe you don't think those games are meaningful but they are very meaningful to those fans. Playing a couple months with only a few teams having a chance isn't in the games best interest. Imho Folks said baseball was ruined when they decided on nine innings instead of first team to score 21 runs. How could you think a team won who only scored 15 runs? Crazy. The game changes with the times. Fans want technology to call balls and strikes. Eventually it will happen and the game moves on. Eventually we may have a truly World Series with the winners of leagues around the world. That won't make winning the US meaningless. first three beers are on me next time I'm in town.
  17. People once cared. I agree. Once men stopped wearing ties and hats to the game it was doomed. Once they added more than eight teams the sport was ruined. Nine inning was horrible. We should go back to two separate leagues with two champions who don't play each other. Designated hitter? Relief pitchers? Horrible. Right now end the season for all the crappy teams below .500 and finish the regular season with teams that can actually play. Then September games would actually be meaningful. There is nothing meaningful with a Sox - Rockies game now.
  18. Al Lopez Tony LaRussa 125+ years of Sox baseball. Two HoF managers. And most folks here believe Tony wasn't worthy of being in the hall. So maybe one. So why should we expect anyone better than what we've had throughout our history?
  19. "So he was good two out of three seasons" JR
  20. I think there needs to be two or three Jerry sell the team games each week to get his attention. I want him to sell the team just to shake things up. I know it will continue to be the same old franchise, with the same results. Not at least it will be someone new to complain about.
