It's really going to depend on who is the 2 year olds biological father.

Jeff Loria goes after Mark Buehrle, Jeter, others

They should be talking about his HoF induction not text messages. -

After fifty plus fucking years following this team and tens of thousands of dollars or more going to games, merch, MLB packages I expected more than one damn WS appearance in my lifetime. But that's all there will be. Not hyperbole, just looking at the facts. Go another thirty or forty years of this s%*# and tell me how you'll feel. How about a couple more championship windows that end like this sandwiches between 90 loss seasons. The troll is JR and the crap he's pulled on Sox fans. -

And I dislike hearing my favorite player's name get dragged through the mud even if it's unfair. I think it sucks. You guys don't think it sucks. -

Come on JR loyal? He's not loyal to players or fans. Disagree if you like. JR is loyal to himself, his shareholders, and a fewfront office staff (not scouts in particular) but that's about it. Second point. I don't want my team making player decisions based on their dogs and I'm not going to criticize even a scum bag, whiny ass, owner for doing it. -

Agreed, two of the worst. I'm offering an analogy. I don't think the Marlin's did anything wrong by not thinking about a player's dogs in a trade. Others questioned it and I'm explaining my reasons. -

Who you defend Hahn if he said they took less or didn't make a deal because of a player's dogs? How many pages would that fill in the fire Hahn thread? Mark had an offer and the team didn't match it. No loyalty towards a franchise player who would wear a Sox cap in the HoF. Then after making him a generous offer to come to Florida the next team includes him in a trade. Again, no loyalty. That seems accurate. Jose is in an Astros uniform. Again no loyalty towards a player who worked his ass off for the club. -

And still a better owner than JR. -

There are no loyalties in baseball. And it wasn't trading just him, wasn't it like half the team for half a team? -

I'm not certain we would understand if Hahn said he took less than he could have gotten in a trade because of a player's dogs. I remember wondering since they had the ban why he would have signed with them. He also should have fired his agent for not negotiating a no trade to areas with a pit bull ban. I do wish he was getting more votes for the hall. He's easily someone who I'd like to see there. -

Enough to be included in the 400 page book and one of only a couple items from the book to be mentioned in the article. That and the color of the tiles in the stadium. So you are probably correct. -
I'm wondering how many games he cost us. Probably more than 10. JR did make me regret TLR leaving. It actually did get worse. If they kept Ricky we'd probably be talking dynasty. At least multiple playoff appearances instead of cleaning house.

By trading him to a team in a country that banned pit bulls? -
DNA testing and hopefully birth and school records will be conclusive. Reporting on this must be difficult. Even allegations in today's world are career killers. Buy it's a story and if true, he deserves the scorn and ridicule.

You can float names but convincing someone to take that position is a completely different story. I was thinking maybe BA was smart enough to set a deadline for being named permanent and forced then to decide before he stuck his neck out any further. Convincing kids to come play for you knowing they might not be playing for you is a tough position to be in.

Making him much for valuable in a trade. It's not just the numbers on the back of the card. Those contract numbers help as well.

It's bound to happen. I'm certain the organization will learn from their mistakes and get better.

We know they aren't about that. Mid level finishes with an occasional first round exit. That's our boys. -
It is easy to believe a quality organization could take former first round Sox draft picks who were underachieving and develop them into MLB talent. I'm a fan so I'm going to believe the Sox can do that with other players. Change of scenery. New coaches. Desperate to keep their dream alive.

One hand.

Mark Buehrle was one of my top three favorite Sox players this century. Sucks to find this out. -
I wish any of that were possible. What do you think the chances are that any of that will happen? Besides some players getting older they aren't going to fire anyone, they aren't going to tell the world their plan, they aren't going to lower prices, and fans aren't going to swallow more fake dreams from the front office. But it's a beautiful vision. It's what a real organization would do that valued fans.

True. I was kind of generalizing. While Schaumburg was better than nothing, it still seemed like wasted time.
-
He's in his first season as manager. I think there are plenty of reasons to think he'll improve in the next couple of seasons. He won't be fired. He isn't going to get a better offer and tank to get out of his contract early. Our only hope is he grows into the job as the team improves.

@CaliSoxFanViaSWside great point about never broken. I think we forget that these guys lost a couple years and would have been learning in AAA in other organizations.
