I'm not certain we would understand if Hahn said he took less than he could have gotten in a trade because of a player's dogs. I remember wondering since they had the ban why he would have signed with them. He also should have fired his agent for not negotiating a no trade to areas with a pit bull ban. I do wish he was getting more votes for the hall. He's easily someone who I'd like to see there.

DNA testing and hopefully birth and school records will be conclusive. Reporting on this must be difficult. Even allegations in today's world are career killers. Buy it's a story and if true, he deserves the scorn and ridicule.

You can float names but convincing someone to take that position is a completely different story. I was thinking maybe BA was smart enough to set a deadline for being named permanent and forced then to decide before he stuck his neck out any further. Convincing kids to come play for you knowing they might not be playing for you is a tough position to be in.

Making him much for valuable in a trade. It's not just the numbers on the back of the card. Those contract numbers help as well.

It's bound to happen. I'm certain the organization will learn from their mistakes and get better.

We know they aren't about that. Mid level finishes with an occasional first round exit. That's our boys.

It is easy to believe a quality organization could take former first round Sox draft picks who were underachieving and develop them into MLB talent. I'm a fan so I'm going to believe the Sox can do that with other players. Change of scenery. New coaches. Desperate to keep their dream alive.

I wish any of that were possible. What do you think the chances are that any of that will happen? Besides some players getting older they aren't going to fire anyone, they aren't going to tell the world their plan, they aren't going to lower prices, and fans aren't going to swallow more fake dreams from the front office. But it's a beautiful vision. It's what a real organization would do that valued fans.

True. I was kind of generalizing. While Schaumburg was better than nothing, it still seemed like wasted time.

He's in his first season as manager. I think there are plenty of reasons to think he'll improve in the next couple of seasons. He won't be fired. He isn't going to get a better offer and tank to get out of his contract early. Our only hope is he grows into the job as the team improves.

@CaliSoxFanViaSWside great point about never broken. I think we forget that these guys lost a couple years and would have been learning in AAA in other organizations.

How can you read that and not be upset? 15 Mil that isn't being used to actually win games. Find one positive thread here. As soon as I log on it's all s%*# news with this team. I post something slightly positive, that they are signing some former high draft picks and the next post immediately points out they are failed draft picks. Crushed that right away.

That explains a little bit why he was off to such a slow start. Hopefully he has a chance with a different team.
