  1. Patrick Ewing with the frozen envelope to the Knicks was another great one. If the NHL was going to rig the draft, this is the outcome they would want. In a sports championship starved market, winning heals everything.
  2. Except for that whole sexual assault cover up. I'm still not ready to embrace the franchise.

I suggested that we create a Sawx board and make @george a mod. He's my current favorite one post wonder.

    Where did @georgego?
  5. I remember reading his biography when I was in school and supposed to be doing something else.
  6. This made me realize something. Next year there will be some guys in Sox uniforms and I'm going to cheer for them. Some I would have selected for the team, others I would have not selected. So if I know I'm going to cheer, why worry or complain about the process? s%*# players, all stars, it doesn't make a difference.
  7. Just when you think something is idiot proof Hahn brings in a better idiot.
  8. Being twenty years removed from the city I've gone from hating, to not caring, to currently I have Cub fan friends and don't mind seeing them happy. I realized those Cub fans are the same folks sitting next to be at Bears/Bulls/Blackhawk games. We have more in common than I do with the Astros fans around me. I doubt that would have happened if I didn't move. It would be easier for me to root for the Rangers than the Cubs.
  9. Damn it, we're Sox fans! It made perfect sense lol
  10. Who had Eloy/May/Appendix in the pool? I'm taking Andrus/June/Infected hang nail.

@george Welcome to the site. We'll make your Sox problems feel like successes. But feel free to dump Bloom and fight mightily to get hahn.
  12. Since no one is really hanging out in Slam much I thought there was an opportunity for the delayed chuckle.
  13. Finally national media giving them the respect they so richly deserve. Look across the lake, the sun will come up tomorrow and ESPN ranks then next to last.

  15. I'm so glad the team isn't making money.
  16. @Harry Chappas excellent summary. Up until a few years ago I would have been happy to watch a MLB game. I went to games from the mid 70s to the late 1990s regardless of how well the team was doing. It was baseball played by some of the best players in the planet. For the next couple decades I followed the team closely, watched a lot of games on TV, and attended several every time I was in town. Then I finally understood how epically horrible this franchise is. I have no more positive vibes to contribute. If the team creates some positive energy I will gladly sip.
  17. FOURTH overall pick in the draft. 4th. 1 2 3 Then Nick Yeah, that's a bust.
  18. Wouldn't it be perfect to win today and lose momentum with an off day tomorrow.
  19. Yeah! No way we lose a lead late. Said no Sox fan in 2023
  20. 2023 Sox Playoff Chances
  21. MLB would gain a city. Look at all the expansion talk, no one says let's add a second team in X.
  22. There is an excellent chance the Sox will not lose tomorrow. Unless this gave gets pushed back.
  23. Sunday line up? Soreness? Being taught a lesson and trying to intimidate the rest of the roster?
  24. I believe some owners would prefer to not share a city's affections with another baseball team. It would also intrigue some owners to be the hero that brings baseball to (fill in expansion city). I don't really believe it to be true, but JR could basically use it as a "you want me to sell? Look what that got you. Waving goodbye to the team!"
  25. To bad the potential record breaker would be on the road
