Thank you. I did laugh.

He was released by the River Rats last month so the Giants gave up on him. I don't think he had a lot of options over the past month but I could be wrong. I will say that as often as we have injuries, it's a great spot for him. I hope he picked up a middle infielder glove on the way. Leury Piscotty to the rescue.

Exactly. Music videos, gaming, fall colors, and golf is tiring. They need to be rested for October.

If a Hall of Fame manager couldn't get these guys to perform what chance does a guy with no manager experience have?

Do you still get pleasure out of rooting for a particular sports team?

Season ticket holder to Sox and Bulls. Had a deal with Bears and Hawks season ticket holders to buy some of their games. It was a big deal in my life. When work sent me to deep Texas I thought I'd be really upset leaving that behind. Well in the mid 90s the Bulls were on TV all the time and after attending 41 games plus playoffs for years, I was a little burned out anyway. Later the character of the Spurs won me over. Bye Bulls. Football season games went from Sunday to Saturday. Now with college becoming semi pro, I stopped really watching any football. Bye Bears (but I still peak and am excited for the next few years) For the reasons with Spurs won me over with their character the Hawks lost me. Bye Hawks. Then there is this heaping pile. A couple years ago it was pointed out to me how epically crappy this franchise has been. I use to think we were kind of average and could cheer through most anything. Plus now that I am teaching and coaching I'm watching more high school games. -
Who is in the draft? #1 pick Let's go Hahn

I truly envy you.

It's not even May and we know there won't be any post season play. The "window" was in reality a watercolor painting running with the tears of Sox fans down the brick wall of a condemned building. I just moved $1000 in my summer vacation budget from Sox games to Lake Michigan fishing. Anyone have a recommendation on a good charter captain? I may want to go out of Kenosha.

Iowa or Kansas I think would work for you.

I read this definition of a coach that also applies to teachers. Someone who makes you do things you don't want to do to reach the goals you want to do.

@CaliSoxFanViaSWside continuing In my health class I teach them on day one a summary of everything we will learn. It applies to athletes as well. Coach Tex's class motto "To enjoy a long life span with a high quality of life, I will choose parents with good genes, avoid the bad stuff while embracing the good stuff and not get fatter and fatter until I die like most people in first world countries." Same with athletic careers.

The rewards in education for me come down to making a difference in someone's life. Anyone, in any career, can do that. When I was first a sales manager, later a VP, I had my brag wall. When I was feeling low I could gaze at the plaques and photos. By the end, I was really proud of the employees I hired and how well they did. Same thing as a golf coach. I've played my best rounds, now it's about helping others. Today we combined the ability of a 16 year old with fifty years of playing experience. Very rewarding.

One under par 71 today. Moving on to the state finals.
-
Today was the semi finals of the state playoffs. We just couldn't get enough birdies and we felt like we were losing ground but the 74 has us only a stroke back from advancing to the finals. It's a bit chaotic. The top three teams and the top three individuals not on advancing teams earn a tee time at state. So scoreboard watching is a bit of a challenge. We're going to work our gameplay on the front nine and see how we stand. We're paired with three good players so it will be fun golf to watch.

Mike Clevinger questioned about walkout song before home debut

Can we just stop the entire walk up song thing? It's really been played out. -
Are these rest days unusual, compared to the league?
Texsox replied to Greg Hibbard's topic in Pale Hose Talk
When you have a roster filled with guys who can't run to first or out of the bullpen without hurting themselves you do strange things. I can't wait until all the humans are replaced by electronic versions. Starting with the umps is nice, but I'd rather have robotic players that don't need rest. -
This team is going to lose 90 plus games...

Actually that's the best use of a theme. -
I'm wondering how many MLB players are one or two years recovering from major injuries.

He'll be back.

Who are you? Hahn will tell you the kids are alright. Personally, I can't explain my generation's ability to believe this crap. -
Let's go back to play until one team scores 21 runs. Those games only lasted six innings or so. Damn younglings ruining the game. They don't even wear a nice tie and fedora to games and tell me to put out my cigarette. Let's end this with a home run derby shootout. Three batters, five swings each.
-
I'm all in on ties. I actually don't mind the rule. Hell, it's been all downhill once they started counting fouls as strikes and only four balls for a walk. Damn changes to the game.

Replacing the '97 White Flag Trade will be the '23 White Bandage Trade. Can Journey record "Don't Start Believing"? Phrase to burn Multiple Championship Seasons

Credit to Rick Hahn for finding Keynan Middleton?

Katz will fix him.
