Good win. I think Locking up gavin for 15 mil was very smart. As long as he isnt tipping his pitches, he is a great, #3, and a solid #2. Pods should have had that ball in the ninth, but Bobby pulled through. I think my BP is back to normal.

8 Chicago White Sox Gordon Beckham SS Georgia He wasn't supposed to be available at this spot, so the White Sox must be thrilled. He can play second base, but there's a good chance he stays at shortstop. He has tremendous baseball instincts. He'll probably move pretty quickly through the system. He instantly becomes the best prospect in the organization the day he signs. Thats keith laws input. He might be dumb, but he knows more than any of us.

its amazing to me that with the crappy 1b dh types we see on a regular basis suck, that people would be mad that we took a middle infielder who fits our needs exactly.

QUOTE (frankie5angels @ Apr 30, 2008 -> 02:07 PM) Gomez is gonna be a stud in this league. He is hardly a flea type player. But I dont mean just him. Joey Gathright, Brendan Harris, etc. all these 170lb. light hitting, quick feet guys murder the White Sox. -

why do s***heads like Carlos Gomez have unbelievable games against the White Sox game in, game out. I swear these flea type players raise their BA's against us 20 pts a year. -
Well that should about do it for Massett. What a waste of talent. Hopefully he picks up somewhere else.

Why do I have a feeling that first inning is going to happen alot against Floyd? -
For what its worth, I believe he said that Hinrich and Artest would be going to the lakers. So probably Gordon and a big would go to sacremento.

Javy Vazquez.....now what do we do??
bullpenHeat replied to whitesoxfan101's topic in Sox Baseball Headquarters
That's the beauty of the Atlanta deal though. We get a new cheap starting shortstop, and a starting stud catcher for a good pitcher. Two for one. Then we trade AJ, who should bring back a real good bounty. Im thinking he brings back a starting outfielder for next year and maybe a stud minor league reliever or longterm project. I think that since Ichiro is no longer an option, we go this route. Three new starting players covers most problems. I know we love AJ, but man Salty, a shortstop and a young speedy outfielder could make us competitive almost immediately. Sign maybe Rowand or another outfielder, and use one of Sweeney, Fields or Erstad or BA?? for the last outfield spot. Keep Crede around this year if Fields takes left, and trade him at the deadline if he is effective to net some prospects to help 09-10 and we have completely rebuilt on the fly. I hope Kenny can do something of this ilk.... -

Well the good thing here is Cleveland has scored all their runs for game 2, just like they did last year. Lots of 12 run games followed by 2 or less!! -
BUMPED::::::Toby Hall Possibly out for the season
bullpenHeat replied to Steve9347's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Well.....Who is available via free agency or trade???? I know Javy Lopez is available. eh. -
Toby Hall injured in the 9th Inning today...
bullpenHeat replied to JDsDirtySox's topic in Pale Hose Talk
the biggest problem everyone here is missing is this. No Toby Hall.....No Brian Anderson. Eduardo Perez will be our righty off the bench if Hall is out for an extended amount, which means, Pablo, or (Shudder) Mack in center. -
Are we really out of contention this coming season?
bullpenHeat replied to Jenksismyhero's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Hello all. My first post here. I think we have a lot to look forward too. Uribe cant be any worse this year could he? What about Anderson? Podsednik should get a healthy full spring training this year, which could be huge for him. 3-5 will be solid again, Dye is playing for a contract. Buerhle is playing for a HUGE contract, so he should be good for 16-17 wins. The catcher situation is much improved. The bullpen is young, but I feel there will be strength in numbers, as if any falter, Charlotte is loaded with hungry pitchers who are capable. The bullpen will struggle at times, but will also dominate at times as well. In conclusion, 8-1 in the lineup cant be any worse than last year, the bullpen should be better than last year, 3-5 is still best in the league, and oh yeah, our 1-4 will be fully rested and healthy. Im smelling 85-86 wins, by early September!!!
