Cowherd shows how much of a douchebag he is
zimne piwo replied to aboz56's topic in A and J's Olde Tyme Sports Pub
Isn't Colin Cowchip the asshat who said that hardly anyone showed up for the White Sox victory parade in 2005? -
QUOTE(Soxfest @ Apr 6, 2007 -> 01:43 AM) "You have to remember," sports talk-radio pioneer Chet Coppock said, "in the pecking order we're somewhere between cotton-candy salesmen and parking attendants. ...And there's no question in my mind that in 10 years, we'll be in the outfield." So if A happens and B happens, then it follows that everything up to X, Y and Z will also happen. Can you say "slippery slope", boys and girls? I knew ya could!

Too bad Bill Murray couldn't keep reliving April Fool's Day, that would have been a riot!

I love how the third paragraph in that article starts out Yeah it was a bit of a letdown after winning it all, but they still won 90 games for chrissakes!!! Getting back to the topic at hand, I always thought the earth would have to stop rotating on its axis before Kenny Williams would deal with Scott Boras again.

QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Mar 25, 2007 -> 02:29 PM) Remember when he was missing for several days and the media may a big scene out of it? that was awesome Yep, and IIRC he had gotten a job delivering pizzas while he was allegedly "missing".

QUOTE(Athomeboy_2000 @ Mar 21, 2007 -> 04:17 PM) That is a REALLY cool idea. I had shivers looking at the picture and remebering watching those games. I was thinking that too before I read what you wrote. I believe Fenway has a special seat marking a Ted Williams homer. See here... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fenway#The_Lone_Red_Seat Believe it or not, there's actually a "White Sox Fan" who disagrees and actually thinks it's a "disgrace" and a "despicable move" to honor the two greatest home runs in White Sox history with the blue seats. http://media.www.pucchronicle.com/media/st...e-2726651.shtml Of course this knob also talks about how the rest of the seats were "painted green", he downplays the importance of those "playoff" home runs and he misspells "old Commisky Park". If this tool really is a Sox fan and is truly embarrassed, maybe we'll all recognize him by the paper bag over his head. -
I'm planning on getting one of these (probably after another paycheck or two); might have a dedication to my grandmother and my aunt, will have to think about what I want inscribed on it. The plaza is going to look awesome when it's ready!

Isn't Spring Training wonderful???!!!

Not big into reality TV (although I used to love THE MOLE back in the day). Gene Simmons Family Jewels is ok, and I also really like Top Chef. As far as guilty pleasures go, yes I enjoy Project Runway... go ahead and give me 40 lashes with a wet noodle... I don't care!

The best pitched inning in Sox history/Your thoughts
zimne piwo replied to StatManDu's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Just loaded the DVD player and watched "Inning #6" again last night, let's just say that despite how great the first two ALDS games were, that was the defining moment where I first thought "hey, we're going to win this whole thing!!!" Let's not forget that El Duque didn't stop there and pitched two more fantastic innings after that!!! -
QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Mar 16, 2007 -> 07:32 PM) I would prefer to sent Uribe before Judge Judy than that circus of a judicial system in the Dominican. She's the BOSS, applesauce!

Just Saw the Most Kickass Sox Montage on Comcast

QUOTE(LVSoxFan @ Mar 16, 2007 -> 08:14 PM) Anybody see it? It was set to "We Are One Tonight" by Switchfoot. Excellent. Gave me goosebumps, even after watching the 2005 DVDs hundreds of times. I'm thinking this song could be our "Don't Stop Believin'" for '07--it worked. Sorry I mean WGN. It was WGN today, right? Whatever--it was right after Hawk & DJ wrapped it up. Yep, that was the same video tribute WGN did after we won it all... was really sweet seeing it again! -
Anyone else catch the replay of the 2005 post-season highlight video (with "We Are One Tonight" by Switchfoot) after Hawk and DJ's post-game show? Sure was nice seeing that again, and a perfect way to cap off another victory over the sCrUBS!

Meanwhile, today's final: Sox 12, Texas 8.

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Mar 9, 2007 -> 11:50 AM) It's almost too easy. As much as Phillips doesn't know what he's talking about for the most part, he gained a lot of respect with me when he was basically the only media member to admit he was wrong about the Sox in 05. Seems to me like he might be getting a little more practice in admitting he's wrong.

QUOTE(Heads22 @ Mar 10, 2007 -> 04:05 PM) Oneli in. Any better today than Wednesday vs. KC? Was there in person for that horrendous 9th inning (after we had tied it at 5).

Ron Artest at it again.....

Ron Artest a thug... big surprise!!!!! -
Once again, the media lives up to its reputation for making more mountains out of molehills than the Wonderbra.

Official ST Game Thread Sox vs Cubs, 3/4/07
zimne piwo replied to WinningUgly85's topic in 2007 Season in Review
QUOTE(DrunkBomber @ Mar 4, 2007 -> 10:53 PM) Man, I lurked into their game thread too, I completely forgot how ridiculous they are over there. Blaming the strike zone, wind amongst other things. They went from World Series champs to bums over the course of a spring training game. I love the rivalry. No lie, it's the Laff-O-Lympics over there. Ever notice how they LOVE bringing that up, but then they NEVER say anything about Scott Podsednik knocking Barrett on his ass right after that? -

Hey if you're really in the mood for some pure comedy gold, check out today's game thread over at northsidebaseball.com. The Cubbie Blue faithful are nothing short of hysterical over there, and yes they're actually referring to Soriano as "FONZIE"!!!!! Have fun lurking over there, and be sure to say hello to Potsie and Ralph Malph for me! -
Guillen responds to McCarthy's comments
zimne piwo replied to Flash Tizzle's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Mar 3, 2007 -> 09:30 PM) The rumor was, KW was trying to nail McCarthy's girlfriend and they fought over it. It started on a Cubs blog, and a minor one at that. No go. It's probably not true and there's nothing at all to suggest it is. And I always thought Cub fans didn't care about the Sox... -
QUOTE(Chi Town Sox @ Mar 3, 2007 -> 03:48 PM) http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/news;_ylt=AhrW...p&type=lgns Chicago ace Carlos Zambrano struck out four and gave up one hit in two scoreless innings. He also made a couple of big predictions for himself and the Cubs. "I believe this year I will win the Cy Young and I will enjoy that," Zambrano said. "Besides that, we will win the World Series. I guarantee you that." Zambrano then backed off the last part a bit, saying he was almost sure the Cubs would win the World Series. Hardy HAR HAR HAR Sounds to me like Zambozo and Miss Cleo ought to get together and go bowling sometime.
