QUOTE (YASNY @ Apr 1, 2011 -> 01:15 PM) I posted the following on facebook and I think I have really pissed off a Chicago based cousin of mine. "Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. Albert Einstein ... He must have had Cub fans in mind." They're a touchy bunch. Not surprised, but then again what can you expect from a team with a fanbase that loves to talk smack despite not winning jack s*** in over 100 years? If I learned nothing else, it's that Cub fans sure love to throw stones despite living in undoubtedly the BIGGEST glass house in all of professional sports.

While I know this thread primarily deals with current movies, if you're a fan of classic drive-in schlock from the 70s, you may want to check out "Bonnie's Kids". This was recently issued on DVD by Dark Sky Films using the original camera negative and it's a blast! The scene before the opening credits runs close to 13 minutes and it is a MINDBLOWER! The rest of the film is just as fun and twisted! They sure don't make movies like this anymore... highly recommended! http://www.amazon.com/Bonnies-Kids-Special...7471&sr=8-1

Best coaster hands down was the Texas Giant at Six Flags Over Texas. Unfortunately they're doing a major overhaul on it and it won't be open again until next year. I'm hoping they're not going to make any drastic changes to it. I also loved the Riverside Cyclone at (what is now) Six Flags New England but they really f***ed up the first drop. In the meantime I'm a big fan of quite a few coasters; my most recent favorites are the Manta and the Kraken at Sea World Orlando and Speed... the Ride at the Sahara in Vegas.

Did you hear Monica Lewinsky is a candidate to replace Lou Piniella as Cubs manager? They know she'll blow a few but she won't choke on the big ones!

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jul 9, 2010 -> 10:18 AM) I despise that clown. And in any game thread (or any thread for that matter) pertaining to the White Sox, he posts "have I ever mentioned how much I really, really, REALLY hate the White Sox???" ad nauseam. You should check out their archived 2005 post-season threads... yes buddy you've told us over a hundred times, now how 'bout a nice hot cup of shut the f*** up???

QUOTE (knightni @ Jun 28, 2010 -> 10:40 PM) OkGo is selling their newest album for $1 online starting at midnight tonight, eastern time. keyword - SKYISFALLING 24hrs only! http://bit.ly/OKGoCD I wasn't happy with the style change this album, but they write good pop rock songs. I'm actually digging this album. The Prince "Around The World In A Day" inspiration is clearly evident here, and the videos are kick-ass as always. You want a real CRAPFEST, check out the new KEANE cd, NIGHT TRAIN. Eight (well, actually seven) songs, three halfway decent, three are utterly unlistenable (including two featuring "rapper" K-Naan... sample rap: "baby you are just beautiful, from crown to your cuticles"!!! Another song has a horn riff that was clearly ripped off from ROCKY, the third is a cheesy "it's a small world after all" type number with some Japanese guest artist). If you enjoyed HOPES AND FEARS or UNDER THE IRON SEA you'll shake your head in disbelief (hell this is even a Major step down from PERFECT SYMMETRY, and that's saying something!)... Mother of God this is pathetic!

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jul 4, 2010 -> 10:47 PM) Have you guys seen the gamethreads at northsidebaseball.com the last couple weeks? They're averaging like 50 replies per thread. lol. Talk about giving up. I usually don't advise anyone to check out that s***hole, but it has provided some very entertaining reading over the past couple of weeks. I also noticed that one clown who uses up all the bandwidth with his ridiculous stats and his "The Cubs are 6-5 when the Santa Ana Winds blow on a Tuesday Evening" crap is still being his usual nimrod self.

QUOTE (GoodAsGould @ Jun 26, 2010 -> 10:31 AM) Zambrano has exploded a few times but Milton Bradley has gone up to the announcer box because of a negative comment and Artest well I dont really have to explain but he is responsible for one of the most embarassing moments in basketball history. Point taken, but IMHO it's like comparing horse s*** with cow s***. I really don't care how you analyze it, at the end of the day it's all s***.

There's always this gem from NCAA football: http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/player/profile?playerId=148900

Not a fan of Vienna hot dogs... especially that thick casing that's like chewing through an inner tube. I also don't need all that garbage on my hot dog (if I really wanted all that I'd order a salad). Give me a ballpark frank any day with mustard, ketchup and onions and I'm happy (I'm happy with a regular hot dog bun but REALLY happy if you give me a poppy seed bun!). Definitely not a Cub fan, that goes without saying though. CANNOT STAND Old Style beer

I like the White Sox, Don't throw beer at outfielders, Cub fans kiss my ass.

"Be the Master of your Domain" Can't believe no one else has said that yet!

I'm a Steve Dahl fan, but his status comment after the Cubs completed their sweep earlier today was pretty lame: The Cubs are in 1st and the Sox are dropping faster than Michael Jackson's pants at a Cub Scout meeting. Needless to say he fired up a lot of Cubbie sheep and got quite a few responses from them. Of course ol' Stevo jumped the gun a bit since the Sox were able to salvage the finale at Comerica and are still only two games out of first. Haven't we learned anything about making knee-jerk reaction comments???

One of the stupidest Facebook groups I've come across is "The 2005 World Series Was A Fluke". Game, set, match... I WIN.

Cubs fans and Sox fans... not so different?

QUOTE (lostfan @ Jun 15, 2009 -> 08:04 AM) Cubs fans' favorite talking point is how Sox fans are all violent white trash and they love to bring up the Ligue incident. They love to ignore that they do things like this JUST as often, it doesn't get publicized. And in the same breath, they love to tell us to "stop living in the past" regarding 2005. Which only goes to show that if Cub fans are good at one thing, it's talking out of both sides of their mouths! -
Any word on when this will be open? I'm SO there!!!! Another one I'd love to try (if I ever make it to Melbourne, Australia) is called THE EDGE and it's in the Eureka Tower, about 300 meters up. This one is a glass box that starts off inside the building and is projected outward about 3 meters. The glass starts out frosted, then once the box is locked into place the glass becomes clear, accompanied by shattering glass sound effects (talk about diabolical!!!).

Gotta go with Pepperoni and Black Olives (and also a nice dusting of Parmesan!).

I guess Buehrle-Mon must now do Carousel or be a Runner.

Come on people, it's not the first time BK has tried something like these. Sometime 10 or so years ago they did "Burger Buddies" that came three to a package, and not long after that (or maybe it was the other way around) they did "Burger Bundles", which were two of these small burgers conjoined like Siamese twins.

Ok I've been out of state for a while, but did they ever rescind that tax in Chicago on soda pop that dilweed Kozubowski pushed though not long before he got sent down the river for embezzlement, racketeering and ghost payrolling?
