QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 25, 2012 -> 05:41 PM) Who do the A's have left? Blevins, Figueroa and Miller. DeLosSantos sent down thanks to his last appearance two nights ago against the Sox. -

Only 25 K's in 62 AB's (4 BB's) so far for Morel this season. -

QUOTE (chw42 @ Apr 25, 2012 -> 05:36 PM) Eric Sogard looks like somebody from elementary school with those glasses. They were just making fun of him. Out of uniform, he looks like the guy who runs your IT department. Or Harry Potter. And he picks Welcome to the Jungle for his walk-up music. Only player in the majors who wears prescription glasses. -

8 in a row for Sox relievers. Would like to see Lillibridge somehow involved. Morel, Escobar/PH (hint) and back to the top of the order. Not exactly smelling like a crooked number inning. -

Why isn't Lillibridge in defensively for Viciedo? Nathan Jones is the next guy in, if it comes to it. -

Shows how much confidence Robin has in Beckham and Lillibridge there. Although using Beckham would have forced more defensive realignments and brought Lillibridge in defensively, too. -

Jesus. We have nobody off the bench who can actually hit a fastball. -

When the last time Alex Rios was intentionally walked? C'mon Fukudome/Lillibridge.... Viciedo the choice over Lillibridge and Beckham. 29 K's for Dunn now this year. -

This should be interesting. Ohman against Jermile Weeks (switch hitter), Sogard (L) and Reddick (L). Seth Smith the only PHer available to Melvin. Unless Santiago's in for the save with a Rios single. PR? Lillibridge? -

5 K's in a row for Sox relievers. Jordan Oh, Boy! It's OBERTO coming into the game. -

No Luke Hughes or CoCo Crisp available today. Seth Smith, Mr. Walk, is their only bench player available. Thornton continues the string, 4 K's in a row by Addison and Matt against their line-up. Nice run going. -

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 25, 2012 -> 05:11 PM) He's like 23 and probably just hasn't had a ton of work on it. But what's the excuse for a guy with a 666 career minor league OPS not to be able to do it? His bat was never going to get him to the majors, he SHOULD have learned how to do some of the fundamentals in order to stick as a utility player with the big league club. Just no excuses why our minor league instructors wouldn't have him constantly working on his bunting with his lack of pop. -

Our hitters have been lacing the ball on the infield in key situations and just have nothing to show for it. Fukudome slashed the ball at the left side in the Baltimore game, too. -

Escobar to bunt...and, bad execution yet again, lol. Jesus Christ...what's the point of having these bench players who can't get a decent bunt down? -

Great try by the A's but Morel manages to get the infield single. Morel at least hustled to 1B there. -

Suzuki's a good fastball hitter inside and Reed wasn't afraid to challenge him there. Great to see him recover from the walk and balk and not give in to the hitter. Now we have to score....because Thornton against the A's or Jesse Crain are a bit scary in a tie game on the road. -

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Apr 25, 2012 -> 04:52 PM) The biggest issue with Rios has been that he's passive and doesn't care, so I don't see why you'd be thrilled that he didn't care he was pulled. Not didn't care, but seemed to be supportive or at least not visibly upset or demonstrative about the decision. In the second half of 2011, if that happened with Ozzie and the way the team was going, that would have tipped the clubhouse into the abyss probably. -

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 25, 2012 -> 04:51 PM) Does this give Freddy some job security? He looks cooked. Yeah, he's been horrible so far this year. Hughes is only throwing 89-91 MPH. Kuroda's been another version of Irabu or Kei Igawa. -

Passes Kaline and Big Cat Galaragga, 48th place on the All-Time list. Addison Reed for the bottom of the 9th against Reddick, Cespedes, etc. Santiago if we can somehow score here. -

Thank god, Ventura gets bailed out by the best pure hitter in the American League. 400 HR's. As does Chris Sale, thank you very much, EL CAPITAN. First blown save for Balfour. Too bad Paulie didn't get to face Grant yesterday after Dunn. -

Greg wants Ventura fired, maybe. So the Yankees have CC, Nova, Hughes, Kuroda, Garcia and maybe Pettite. No Pineda until mid 2013 probably. -

QUOTE (South Side Fireworks Man @ Apr 25, 2012 -> 04:38 PM) Horrible managing by Ventura. Absolutely horrible. If Morel executes there, which a major league player should be expected to...then we're all saying how smart it was to trust the game to our great bullpen and nobody's complaining so much. Pineda out for the full season and longer. Tore his freaking labrum on the last pitch of his final rehab outing. Worst possible injury for a pitcher these days. Gavin Floyd to NY? Of course, they also have Pettite in reserve, but Nova's their best starter now. -

QUOTE (Greg Hibbard @ Apr 25, 2012 -> 04:38 PM) Don't forget to vote corpseball in 2012, guys. "out early, out often" You jinxed the four game winning streak, lol. No more positive threads this season, please.
