Pretty crazy it is going to be Cle/Detroit and possibly KC/NYY left.
-
MJ Melendez with a pretty unreal catch for him...and pressure really mounting on Baltimore offense.
-
Poor Mattress Mack lol Motown Magic Cleveland vs. Toronto 2016 last ALCS without Astros.
-
Plus he refused to ever pitch more than one inning last year for SD.
-
47 straight playoff wins for Houston when they had been leading in the 8th...
-
$95 million for a fading Hader was always going to be a massive mistake...and now they can't afford to keep Bregman Tucker Altuve and Alvarez together.
-
Maybe the the Twins if they move on from Santana and aren't sure about Luke K or Kiriloff at 1B.
-
Profar was signed for just $1 million and will be a downballot NL MVP candidate. Or someone one like Donovan Solano that has the flexibility to play every infield position for $1 million as well.

They cerainly cared about clearing the team of "bad influences" though. In a vacuum, something has to emerge to fill it. And they still care a lot about marketing aka selling tickets to a rapidly shrinking fanbase.

Maybe not…but eventually SOME of these position players will be foundation pieces. Montgomery and Quero, to name two. Then you still have Fletcher Lee Vargas Sosa Ramos Colas Baldwin DeLoach Elko Julks that need proper leadership/instruction. Maybe it will end up being Sheets and Benintendi, if they do actually move on from Andrew Vaughn.

Manning and Mize looked like they would be the future stars of the rotation…

Aka Miss Georgia 2015…and her sister, “Oh, this Gordon Beckham kid again,” Brittany thought. She had never met the guy, but she had heard a lot about him. She grew up in Georgia, the daughter of 15-year MLB veteran Scott Fletcher. Beckham lived close by in the Atlanta area. Some of Brittany’s friends dated some of his friends in college, and on a couple of occasions, people suggested they should meet. Brittany, who graduated from Auburn, never thought too much of it. Besides, she had always promised herself she’d never marry a baseball player. But she ended up on the South Side of Chicago that night, watching a game featuring the new kid they had started calling “Bacon,” the one who walked up to The Outfield’s “Your Love”— Josie’s on a vacation far away! — and was also supposed to be the future of the franchise. And then, in the sixth inning, the strangest thing happened. All the lights went out. “I’ve been to a million games,” Brittany said. “It was crazy because I’ve never had that happen before.” The game was delayed, and players retreated to the clubhouse. With some time to spare, Beckham decided to text Brittany. I’d love to meet you after the game. Play resumed after 21 minutes, and the White Sox finally beat the Red Sox 8-2 late into the night. After the game, Brittany went down and met Beckham, and then they got a drink at a local pub. As Brittany tells it, they dated on and off, then they got married, and now here they are. But consider Gordon Beckham in that moment: 24 years old, blond hair, chiseled jaw, wealthy, on the highway to stardom in one of baseball’s greatest cities. Beckham hit .270 as a rookie in 2009. He hit 14 home runs and had a .347 on-base percentage, showing all the signs of a player who would grow into his role as a star. “I played great my rookie year,” he said. He didn’t know he would never hit .270 again. https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/930676/2019/04/18/the-curious-case-of-gordon-beckham/ 2019: “The other night, Brittany and Gordon were talking, and Brittany made a remark: You know what? We’re pretty strong. And that’s really what all this is about. The story isn’t over. Who knows how Beckham will finish this season. Who knows how he will finish his career. Who knows what he and Brittany will be doing in another 20 years. Sometimes, whether you’re old or young, and even if you don’t realize it, the middle of the arc of our lives is the best: when you get to live your own story and make your own choices and find the courage and wisdom to know yourself. “You get older,” Beckham said a couple of weeks ago, “and you understand that opinions are kind of fickle in a way. I realize I needed to be OK with myself before I could be OK with anything else. I just had to kind of get better at being me.”

Getz isn’t tied to the Vaughn draft selection…but they did go out of their way to focus on him as a leader after the deadline, at least guys such as Scott Merkin covering the team on a daily basis. If you trade Vaughn do you want Benintendi to basically be the face of the team when he won’t be on the next playoff squad? (It probably has to come from Smith and/or Schultz leading the future rotation.) I suggested someone like Jose Iglesias to set the tone on the infield as the vocal leader of the team…it’s definitely not going to be coming from Amaya or Baldwin. Then at least you have a captain/role model to drive expectations for Sosa Vargas Ramos Montgomery, to set the tone for how to play the game the right way…and a replacement of sorts for Hispanic players to gravitate towards,

Bummer and Jesse Chavez show....trying to keep it a game through the middle innings.

Jose Iglesias as player manager Sizemore bench coach Let the best man win. -
It's all about Witt Salvy Pasquantino Ragans trade and signing Lugo and Wacha.
-
Four home teams losing today? 88% odds go to Game 1 winner in best 2/3 series, obvious exception 2020White Sox. Thanks Dallas. Brewers 1-10 last 11 post season games.
-
10 straight post season losses for Baltimore dating back to 2014. Twins' like curse. Eflin with a ton of pressure on him tmrw vs. Seth Lugo.
-
LHP Sam Long was once in the White Sox organization...of course he was. Granted minor league FA from Kannapolis after 2019 season. Signed to Sacramento/SFG.
-
Pulled Ragans after just 80...that's craziness. Win the game you're playing first. Left calf camps apparently.
-
Unfortunately no more Kimbrel left to collapse...typical KC run scored there like 2014-15.. Should have gone after Pasquantino after the long lay off. Witt is just too good. Just might see Cease and Zack Eflin going "head to head" GM 2...what could have been for Elias.
-
Astros must be ruing that Jake Rogers trade about right now...boring game suddenly got compelling.
