As long as we don't bring back Broadway, McCulloch or Anderson Gomes, I'm "all in" on bringing back Poreda. Who knows, maybe Santos could teach him to throw one of his offspeed pitches. It's so crazy how a career SS can pick up 4 quality major league pitches and someone like Thornton and Poreda can barely throw 2, guys that have been pitching for 12-15 years.

Buried Alive is starting to sound like a movie that's going to be made this offseason about the career of LeBron James and/or Tiger Woods. Can't remember two global icons in sports cratering like that in tandem. By the way, has anyone YET to see "MIDNIGHT in Paris" or "The Tree of Life"? Would love to hear your appraisals. Anyone excited about Green Lantern?

At least he has a really cool name. Sounds like a former Roman emperor. Why not? Give Cooper and our AA coaching staff a shot at him? They have usually produced good results, when they've had some actual talent to work with, like in 2009. With Santos Rodriguez and this dude, hopefully one of them can break through. Heck, maybe they should just bring him to Chicago and have him observe Buehrle, Danks, Thornton and Sale for a couple of weeks, sort of an "internship," so to speak.

When you look at the list of players that other teams would actually want...well, it's not so easy to imagine trading any of them. Sure, we can dump Jackson, but that's a recipe for Lucas Harrell without a reliable Peavy. As much as many would desire it, Pierre's not going anywhere...I can't imagine what would have to happen with him this year for Viciedo or Lillibridge to take over his starting role. Then we're all conditioned to the idea that Danks isn't going to stick around....that same game KW played in 06-07 with Garland/Javy/Contreras/Garcia to force those pitchers to (hopefully) sign slightly below market contracts or find themselves dealt away.

Was Crisp safe? Guess it doesn't matter. Hopefully this will help Santos for the future. Ozzie said he was "anxious" and was blaming that on his lack of experience...trying to make nearly every pitch (particularly his slider/curve) perfect...and literally trying to throw every fastball as hard as he possibly can. As we all know, every hitter can rip a 94-96 MPH fastball if they're waiting for it and ahead in the count, especially since Sergio's doesn't have a huge amount of movement. Sergio and Jackson are very similar pitchers in the sense that if they have their offspeed stuff going and can get ahead in counts, they're absolutely dominant. Just haven't seen that much recently with either of those guys compared to the first 6 or so weeks. Please Juan Pierre, if you're going to be in the line-up, at least don't ever try to bunt again unless it's for a hit.

As most people are saying about Super 8, the first half is a solid A or A- movie. The second half is a bit of a disappointment, but just the first half makes it worth watching. Have seen X-Men: First Class twice and it really stands up as an excellent film. You can argue about the questionable marketing strategies behind both, but both films should stand up pretty well at the box office over the summer due to stronger word of mouth....along with Bridesmaids.

Watch Rios' left shoulder as well. He has it tucked in more, it's at a closed angle compared to the past. That and the hand positioning are the two noticeable changes in his mechanics over the past 7-10 days.

Well....I guess the Lillibridge catch sort of cancels out the loss from last night. Baseball, an amazing game. Good job by Crain to come back from down in the count and man up instead of putting runners on 1st and 2nd with only 1 out.
