  1. QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ May 4, 2011 -> 01:31 PM) you can send this one to Copperstown another intentional walk that does nothing but give up another run anyone think a legitimate bench coach may help this team Copperstown, Beardstown or Cooperstown, this is one game that will drive the youth of today away from the game of baseball in droves if anyone in the world is actually forced to watch it again.
  2. QUOTE (Soxfest @ May 4, 2011 -> 01:31 PM) Danks will be 0-5 by May 4th. If this hold up I would of lost any bet on that. It's their secret internal strategy to keep the amount on his contract extension below $100 million for Danks. Give me Danny Wright or James Baldwin over Danks, they knew how to win. LOL
  3. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ May 4, 2011 -> 01:30 PM) I'm so pissed that I bought tix for the Angels series in Anaheim. Think I'll wear a paper sack that reads "All In" By that time, they might have you committed to the looney bin. Only 1-9 left to go on this road trip and we reach 5-26, and reverse last year's run. YAY!!!!! 4-17, 4-17, 4-17....how is it possible with a $128 million dollar payroll in the American League Central?
  4. QUOTE (fathom @ May 4, 2011 -> 01:27 PM) I can't believe Ozzie pitched to Kubel. I guess only Rongey and Cowley will defend him still. PERFECT. HAHA!!! Ozzie, you're deliberately trying to lose this game and bring the Twins back to life. Sped up his bat by throwing him a slider. UGH.
  5. Complete lack of focus. Players' fault, they're professionals. Or the coaching staff? Tosoni poised to make Ozzie look stupid. Not that doing that's very hard recently.
  6. Yet another mental mistake. CUE "crooked number." Is Harrelson around to witness this debacle/fiasco? He's got to be going absolutely crazy about right now.
  7. Between Pierre getting picked off (DJ still claiming a balk), Quentin on the DP, Vizquel here (missed hit and run sign?)...we obviously can really afford to just give up outs (in addition to the bunting) all over the basepaths. UGH. More CS than steals, too. Ridonkulous.
  8. QUOTE (bucket-of-suck @ May 4, 2011 -> 01:15 PM) 2011 Sox BABIP is insanely low. Are you Nick Swisher's agent?
  9. The battle of worst possible MLB offensive ineptitude. Quite a different feel from the "pitching dominant" Game 163/Blackout.
  10. QUOTE (WCSox @ May 4, 2011 -> 01:05 PM) Only PK and Castro are that old. AJP is 34. The vast majority of our lineup and rotation are in the prime of their careers. Pierre is also clearly past his prime, especially with all that wear and tear on his body from the stolen bases and clearly has lost 2-3 steps in a decade. Dunn's also on the downside of his prime seasons, although still relatively young. And we have to assume Teahen and Beckham still have primes in front of them.
  11. QUOTE (fathom @ May 4, 2011 -> 01:07 PM) AJP with 3 extra base hits and 3 walks in his first 100 ABs. Viciedo has 4 walks in 101 AB's. Is it too late to convert him to catcher? With that frame and throwing arm, worth a thought.
  12. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ May 4, 2011 -> 01:05 PM) AJP DP coming in t-minus 5, 4, 3... No, that's Thome/Kotsay/Erstad/Mackowiak. Don't hex him.
  13. Your 2011 Chicago White Sox. All In to break various records of ineptitude. 18 stolen bases, 18 caught stealing. Now that's REALLY hard to do.
  14. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ May 4, 2011 -> 12:56 PM) How about when proven talent turns 35? So you'd fire Bill Smith as Twins' GM before KW? Just curious. Because they went all internal to replace Guerrier/Rauch/Fuentes/Guerrier, took a big risk with Nishioka's contract, didn't have any back-up plan for Casilla/Tolbert at SS, etc.
  15. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 4, 2011 -> 12:57 PM) That was easy. Cuddyer and Tosoni Baloney really really suck. Kudos for Kubel being retired, though.
  16. Now Christine O'Reilly is changing the "All In" marketing slogan to imply it refers to White Sox fans donating $10 to endow grant programs through Sox Charities. Okay. That's one spin on it, I guess.
  17. Couldn't find anything about Martin being fired mid-game. Martin's sparring opponents as a manager also included two traveling secretaries (Minnesota's Howard Fox and Texas' Burt Hawkins) in a fight outside of Howard Wong's in Bloomington, Minnesota; Jack Sears, a fan outside Tiger Stadium; a Chicago cab driver who preferred soccer to baseball; sportswriter Ray Hagar, in a Reno indoor arena bar; marshmallow salesman Joseph Cooper; two bar patrons, in Anaheim and in Baltimore; and two bouncers in an Arlington topless bar. wikipedia.com
  18. TRADE RIOS NOW!!! Funny to see how many Twins' fans wanted him (Liriano) traded after the no-hitter. Interesting reaction, showing their impatience. I guess we'd say the same thing if Edwin Jackson's next outing produced the same result, assuming we'd lost another 3-4 in a row.
  19. Las Vegas odds on when Rios reaches .200 batting average? ALEXEI, that might be YOUR last radio ad as well. An ugly an effort as your defensive play this year. That was the result after how many takes? YAY, I'll take it if that's what it takes to "reverse" jinx Sox players. Pierre, you suck, suck, suck!!! Will that make him stop sucking?
  20. QUOTE (BigEdWalsh @ May 4, 2011 -> 01:42 PM) I wonder if a manager has ever been fired while his team had a game in progress? Ted Turner with the Braves?
  21. Fathom's double play prediction is still alive if we can actually score and get the game into extra innings. Or one of AJ's "passed balls" to allow a runner to 1st and four outs in an inning to occur. Except that's unlikely to happen with Butera. Even if he can't hit one-half his weight. Did they really just have a horrible "Ed Farmer voiceover" commercial which had "fairweather fans" in it??? The marketing department must be really oblivious if they let that one get by. Think it was 5th 3rd Bank. You would think they wouldn't want to insult anyone who'd go out to a game from here on out. While they're at it, they should discount season tickets next year by at least 10-15% for 2012.
  22. QUOTE (Cali @ May 4, 2011 -> 01:09 PM) The Sox stink at drafting so I don't get the complaints about trading away prospects all that much.... besides Gio no many former Sox prospects are amounting to any major success in the bigs (Jury's still out on Hudson as of right now) McCarthy's pitching quite well for the A's this year. Do we face him on this road trip? Richard was solid for the Padres.
  23. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ May 4, 2011 -> 01:31 PM) nice job pitching around that stellar defense Ummm....with this line-up, Kris Honel might be able to get a quality start for the Sox. Or at least one of either Broadway/McCulloch.
  24. QUOTE (fathom @ May 4, 2011 -> 01:29 PM) Juan Pierre is a great guy and have never heard anything bad about him....but someone get him a drug test, as Steve Howe seemed more coherent than Pierre does this year. 2001=Jose Canseco 2011=White Sox bring back Daryl Strawberry and Dwight Gooden? Heck, might as well stick Bonds and Sosa out there to draw some media interest and random/casual "walk up" fans to the park.
  25. QUOTE (fathom @ May 4, 2011 -> 01:28 PM) Times like this you have to be thrilled that Pierre is one of the most durable players in baseball. I almost wish they had Kotsay or Erstad to "light a fire" under this team, haha. Because it's certainly not coming from Ozzie. You almost think stadium vendors who are envisioning months of lost revenue are more upset about this start than our manager.
