  1. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 4, 2011 -> 08:14 PM) Flipper down left field line to win a game vs Angels. The funny thing is that there's a puzzle of US Cellular that they sell that is from this game. Against K-Rod, right? For some reason, I remember it being to RF. Who knows.
  2. Did that just happen? Hmmmmm. Ozzie's a genius, Ozzie's a genius. Enshrine him in the manager's wing of the Hall of Fame.
  3. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Jul 4, 2011 -> 08:07 PM) So what is the chance that Viciedo gets flipped for a leadoff hitter like Reyes. Where would he play? I doubt they'd move Ramirez to 2B. And taking on another huge salary hit, no way? Remember, Juan Pierre is now back in "good graces" compared to Dunn and Rios.
  4. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 4, 2011 -> 08:06 PM) He's going to be a hell of a player Hafner's been hurt, Sizemore's nothing like the player he was before the injuries and Choo's out for 6-8 weeks. You'd have to say the White Sox have been amazingly fortunate to be in the position we're currently in...at least until we face our own division.
  5. Carlos Santana with his 13th homer of the season. Uh-oh. 3 run lead for CLE now, at least.
  6. 4 outs away from Soria. Maybe that's what we need to wake us up, since we've sleepwalked through this entire game. But what are the odds of beating him twice in one season? BTW, how the hell does Travis Hafner have a 972 OPS? Make that 979, another hit.
  7. How can Jorge Posada at his age recover to be hitting with a 735 OPS and .234 average and a much younger Dunn can't? The Grandy-Man Can. 4-3 Indians....Tex, A-Rod, Cano and Swisher will give them a chance to tie with 4 outs left for CLE to get.
  8. Jeter with a 642 OPS and 0 for 3 tonight. That would be one of the better hitters in our line-up.
  9. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 4, 2011 -> 07:43 PM) Rios is hitting .220. Ramirez is hitting .275. One's worth trashing, the other's acceptable. And Alexei actually hit that ball hard, it was just right at someone. It wasn't a K or lazy infield fly pop-up.
  10. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 4, 2011 -> 07:36 PM) Did he really say that? I think it's just a SoxTalk 'urban legend' that sounds so plausible it has become fact.
  11. QUOTE (JoshPR @ Jul 4, 2011 -> 07:33 PM) I do't give a hoot about 2008 or last year, what have you done for me lately? That's what counts, yes rios has sucked but Lexi hadn't been far behind 25 MLB GM's would claim Alexei Ramirez were he to be placed on waivers. 0 would claim Alex Rios.
  12. Lilly only 3 steals behind Jean Pierre now. I think they're going to have to find a new #2 hitter soon.
  13. QUOTE (JoshPR @ Jul 4, 2011 -> 07:21 PM) You guys give rios s***, but look at Lexi, he gets allergy with men on base Because Alexei was the best defender in baseball at the most important position on the field last year, and he was our best clutch hitter in 2008 until he got tired at the end of the season. Ramirez has never equalled his rookie year offensively, but a 750 OPS is nothing to sneeze at. Rios is at 600. That's a big difference. And he hasn't played well for nearly a full-season. Alexei has been one of our 3 best hitters the first three months of 2011. And Rios has made about 5X as much money as Alexei from 2009-2011.
  14. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Jul 4, 2011 -> 07:19 PM) mark's been getting hurt w/2 outs I think he was more hurt seeing the line-up card behind him with Dunn at 3rd and Rios 6th. Rios hasn't been an RBI guy for this team for 6 months, which was, not coincidentally, the last time Dunn was decent.
  15. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 4, 2011 -> 07:17 PM) We have the good part of the order coming up next inning, so hopefully we cut into the lead some more. Except Lillibridge has now forgotten he was good for a couple of months, too. It's funny, the first or second time you ACTUALLY wish that Pierre was in the line-up because he's been hot and Ozzie benches him. Infuriating.
  16. Just go with DeAza and Pierre in the OF for two weeks and see if that sparks the team. DL Teahen or Omar. DL Rios for his "bad toe." Whatever it takes. They're just giving the fans nothing to cheer for at home this season. They would get more entertainment if there was no game and they simple stuck Transformers 3 on the jumbotron accompanied by the exploding scoreboard.
  17. Fans deservedly booing the Sox for only scoring one run there against a AAA pitcher.
  18. Either a GS or a K here from Ramirez. Quentin apparently has "stars" instead of a "dotted i" on the back of his jersey. Wonder who did that? Equipment manager or MLB orders?
  19. Quentin, an All-Star outfielder advances these runners to 2nd and 3rd (at least.)
