  2. Guess it's an ideal day to bet because you lose or win automatically depending upon one's perspective.
  3. The pitching story is quite different...with the exception of Fedde. And the irony there is our biggest strength as an org is supposed to be Katz and Bannister.
  4. balls on the infield scored runners from second Twins in the same inning or game the blown lead records and ZERO late comebacks when trailing after 6/7/8 are almost unreal entities...like SD in extra innings last year going against their RS/RA oh for the days of Adam Engel and Moncada tagups against Buxton, definitely the Twins...
  5. DeJong with Royals Romy? Burger? Anderson? Duke Ellis? Can probably backdate to the point nobody was really in charge last year and Hahn had a TA trade ready and got overruled by KW/JR.
  6. Amazingly Grandal is still hanging in there with a 675ish ops in part time duty...Pirate.
  7. Or Colas Quero and Ramos w/ Robert...Rebuilding the Cuban Connection. Do they look still have Yosimar Cousin?
  8. Not many relievers are over the 1 mark unless they're getting multiple innings.
  9. Tigers are sky high...now leading KC and the Twins by 1/2 and 1 1/2. 28-11 run now behind dominant pitching. Skubal would go again Sunday if necessary, he's clearly your AL Cy Young. Has gone from just 80 innings in 2023 to nearing 200 this season. And to think they were considering trading him at the deadline... Royals have lost seven in a row, 7-16 and Minnesota on a 11-22 run so both teams in full collapse mode as Seattle desperately tries to join the fray.
  10. Well yeah Trevor May struck the perfect tone there...sounded more like a fan than a "privileged" former player.
  11. Well unless it's the Mariners somehow. We could still save the Royals/Twins from one of the better September choke jobs. Detroit if they do make it to playoffs the most likely team to spend more going into the offseason. Not even sure it matters buried behind all four organizations at this point.
  12. Swisher would be a lot more fun...someone Sox fans already hate. Smardzija. Lynn Pham Middleton AJ Burger not enough.
  13. The jury is still out on Kopech and Robert with other organizations. They're still in the prime of their careers age-wise. Giolito wasn't a failure...he just broke down and still has a shot to return. He was already a mess mechanically when they first acquired him before recording two close to dominant seasons. Rodon has righted the ship in NY....although has to be considered a slight disappointment. Burger is nearing a 30 homer season. Anderson Moncada Eloy Madrigal Vaughn have to be considered the biggest mysteries when all is said and done.
  14. According to multiple reports, the Oakland A's are preparing for Thursday's finale at the Oakland Coliseum by beefing up security and urging players and staff to not interact with fans out of fear of violence. USA Today reports that manager Mark Kotsay was urged to scrap his plan to address fans postgame and to instead retreat to the clubhouse. Outfielder JJ Bleday told ESPN that players were advised by the team to "get on out of there," instead of gathering for postgame photos on the field. This, of course, does not sit well with an already spurned fan base. A's fan group "Last Dive Bar" issued a response to the reports via social media on Saturday. Fisher's letter was met with similar responses from fans on social media. "I’ve seen AI responses with more sincerity," one fan wrote. "Absolutely insulting to the fanbase," another added. Former MLB pitcher Trevor May, who played his final season in 2023 with the A's, issued a similar sentiment.
  15. Most worthless investment in team history. Obviously a low bar to clear. Actually, it might be Leury. Or Benintendi.
  16. Pretty sure DeJong had the best or second best OPS on the team, him or Pham.

  18. And the A's have a really solid young offensive core that's marketable...only shortcoming is pitching.
  19. With Clevinger and soon Moncada out...there's not really much besides Benintendi's seemingly indifference and contract. But he has been their best hitter the last six weeks. Vargas and Robert I guess. Everyone pretty much tired of Sheets and Vaughn.
  20. That type of scandal would be one of the few pushing JR to sell. Or maybe not. Like Wal Mart making bets on health outcomes of its workers.
  21. Vaguely remember...now it would be Netflix Stars
  22. https://www.baseball-reference.com/draft/index.fcgi?team_ID=CHW&draft_round=2&draft_type=junreg&query_type=franch_round Steele Walker Petricka Trayce Thompson Eric Johnson the highlights Adams Hansen Kelley some of the bigger pitching disappointments Still have Grant Taylor and Palette to dream on...just a little.
