  1. Eloy L.Sosa then Shewmake Benintendi S.Wilson all on the next to last (147th page) fwar rankings. Maldonado very last.
  2. Far removed from the majors at that.
  3. Was more excited for Sox baseball just listening to Benetti on the Oregon/Oregon State call.
  4. Getz dating and marrying a Playboy Playmate is seemingly likelier than that...
  5. *The White Sox now have to go 9-5 the rest of the season to avoid setting the modern MLB record for losses in a season. *Alyssa Bergamini handled Gene Honda’s duties tonight, making her the first woman to handle public address duties in White Sox history. She’ll be in the chair through the weekend. 18 shutouts so far.... soxmachine.com game notes/write up
  6. 19 18 10 victories....2013-2016....total of 47 victories over 3 years
  7. https://www.yardbarker.com/mlb/articles/the_best_hitting_mlb_pitchers_of_all_time/s1__32336279#slide_6 Pretty sure all of these pitchers are better than the White Sox average hitting numbers. SOX before tonight: .221 BA .250 GETZ BA .278 OBP .309 GETZ .338 SLG .307 GETZ .616 OPS .616 OPS Almost EXACTLY at Chris Getz's all-time career OPS, actually. He has built almost a mirror image of himself and Josh (very much NOT Jesse) Barfield as hitters.
  8. Can they release him with an injury without an issue with the MLBPA...if he's already on the IL? Can't believe after all this time they're just going to waive/DFA, it's like Gavin Sheets on the pitching side...although far less noticeable.
  9. But the Sox are missing Witt (MVP1A), Perez (who Maldonado was SUPPOSED to be), Pasquantino, Massey, Fermin, Renfroe, etc. Most importantly, four starters with 125-148 OPS+ numbers in Lugo (FA), Ragans (A.Chapman trade, two previous TJS), Singer (draft) and Wacha (FA) With Crochet gone, the White Sox don't have anything approaching that MLB talent level, just Smith and Schultz and Grant Taylor fever dreams.
  10. Angels have 5-10X the offense of the White Sox and something approximating a young core of solid position players. That's not even getting into offense, bullpen, defense/fundamentals/execution. The only advantage might be in some of the starting pitching matchups, but Crochet is always limited to 4 innings, leaving 5 innings for the renowned Sox bullpen to cover.
  11. The ONLY thing he can really tout at this point is Crochet, Smith, Schultz and the possibility of Taylor's greatness emerging to form a monster/once a decade pitching foundation. That will last until Crochet is inevitably traded and someone else in the rotation gets hurt. Cannon and Martin's "success" won't satisfy anyone. Certainly not the marketing department. Thorpe is iffy at best...and Vargas to tout???? Yikes. Yikes. Yikes. Meanwhile Dylan Cease was part of a key shutout of the Giants in a "must win" game down the stretch run against Brandon Webb.
  12. https://sports.yahoo.com/mlb-team-helmets-to-feature-ads-during-postseason-through-2027-122445732.html White Sox zeroing in on worst record ever....story #2, using Reinsdorf's statement verbatim so far but not sure how long than can/will last as the record gets closer and closer.
  13. Burger nearing Triple Crown numbers...😀
  14. Okay hardly paid attention to anything but CHA starting pitching and Montgomery's struggles.
  15. Declan Cronin was definitely one. Cubs' lefty Horn? Justin Anderson, Joe Barlow, Jake Cousins, Chad Kuhl and Jake Woodford; 98% sure 3 of those guys caught on with other teams. Duke Ellis and Romy. Erick Hernandez will probably be an All Star.
  16. Most disappointing list of AFL position prospects since.... the very beginning itself of the AFL?
  17. Unfortunately the best leader of all those vets was arguably Pillar...just not for the White Sox.
  18. https://www.baseball-almanac.com/managers/manager_losses_top_100.shtml Look at all the Hall of Famers on that list. Bochy Mauch Baker Piniella Showalter Francona....at least 4 if not 5 more that aren't in yet.
  19. And because Lee was just as bad as 2025 Maldonado and Vargas offensively last year.
  20. https://www.thebaseballcube.com/content/player/216308/ .889 career ops in MiLB is broken
  21. Benintendi and Robert 661 and 660 ops...all u need to know. Pham and DeBong the only two over 700 while Sox this year. Beckham career 667 Getz a hefty 616
  22. The difference is over Fedde, yes? Hard to call that wasted, based on his 2024 Sox fWAR and bWAR. Wasted asset, of course, it certainly looks that way right now.
  23. Beane was also a top draft pick who was once considered the best prep player in the country. Getz always a complementary type of player who didn't stand out in any way.
