EDIT: .302/.371/367/.738 Oh, and I hope Prancer has something left. I don't like him in CF AT ALL though, I know that. Same here. Though, no matter how he performs, he always has one big thing going for him: his wife. -

QUOTE (knightni @ May 1, 2009 -> 03:31 PM) Mark Titus - of Club Trillion blog fame - is told by the NBA to withdraw his name from the draft because they believe that he will make a "mockery" of the process. http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/basketball/bl...rn=ncaab,160332 That's ridiculous. Let the kid have his fun... Plenty of other no-names enter every year for the hell of it. Btw, I haven't read his blog since like March, and I completely missed the Evan Turner entry. Had me cracking up. Check it out if you haven't visited his blog since basketball season, like me. -
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 1, 2009 -> 08:26 AM) So are you saying it was all a dream or that reality was altered back to "normal"? Ha, wouldn't that be something? Like the movie "North," which was probably the worst ending ever.

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Apr 30, 2009 -> 10:03 PM) I think what he meant to say is that usually when teams trade their next years first, its because they believe they are on the brink of contending. Therefore their 1st is most likely going to be a late round pick, so they are getting a guy in the 2nd they want. McDaniels traded the Broncos pick which could be a very high pick. That's what surprised me the most about that trade. I couldn't believe they traded their own pick rather than the Bears'. I guess McDaniels is that confident (cocky?) in his team that he thinks they'll end up with a better record than the Bears. My brother-in-law, who's a huge Broncos fan, is so pissed right now about what's happened to his team over the last month or so. And I don't blame him. -

I noticed that Derek Pegues (FS/CB) from Mississippi St is trying out for the Bears this weekend. I love it. At one point (after his JR year) he was a projected 2nd/3rd round pick, but a bad 40-time and 2 arrests (got in a fight with an off-duty cop = terrible decision) during his time at State killed his draft status. Still, he's a playmaker and was a darn good FS in the SEC. I really hope that guy gets a FA contract. Definitely worth a shot. -

What a time to have Final Exams, huh? I missed the entire game tonight b/c I've been studying for my 8am exam in a few hours. I followed on Gamecast, but it wasn't the same. FML... Btw, this has to be the best 1st round playoff series ever. Simply amazing. -

I'm not a huge UFC fan, but I do enjoy watching the fights every time I see one. However, I must say that the UFC video game is fantastic. I played it for the 1st time yesterday and it's awesome. Yeah, I'm not bringing too much to this thread, but just thought I'd share...

QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Apr 29, 2009 -> 10:44 PM) They pull these out like once or twice a season it seems like. Cut no corners, just an all answer episode. I still am not a fan of the overall story line(just doesn't hold my interest like it used to) but it was a solid episode tonight none the less. I feel the same way. But, I won't stop watching until it's over like some people I know. I feel bad b/c I feel like Lost is losing it's audience. But, I've invested a lot of time over the last few years keeping up with every episode, so while it may not grip me like it used to, I'll be watching until the end.

I would just like to say that this is the most active I've seen the minor league board in a couple years, and I love it. So many years I've followed the minors and sometimes you'd get 2 or 3 replies in a gameday thread. Now, we're going 2-3 pages some days. I guess that's bound to happen, though, when KW finally restocks the minors.

QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Apr 29, 2009 -> 01:28 AM) I've lost pretty much all respect for KG. Boston has made him a big-headed piece of s***. http://d.yimg.com/a/p/sp/getty/7b/fullj.1d...lls_celtics.jpg http://a.espncdn.com/media/apphoto/660123b...7784935a4ab.jpg What a b****. Yeah, I didn't realize the extent of how annoying KG is until watching this series. He and Paul Pierce have been really pissing me off. Every time the cameras show Pierce, he's b****ing/whining/complaining to the refs about something. And every time they show KG, he's barking or yelling or some other annoying bulls*** no one wants to see. f*** Boston. I hate all their fans and all their sports teams. Living with a guy from Boston last year really pushed my hatred for that city's sports fans over the top. -

QUOTE (SoxFan101 @ Apr 27, 2009 -> 12:53 AM) Really? I used to think he knew his stuff, but every time they put him on the air with, I think his name is Todd McShay, Mel Kiper comes off looking like an idiot imo. But in terms of football my favorite two guys are Jaws and cant remember the other guy, the one who along with jaws always is breaking down the film and showing how plays developed. I'm of the opposite opinion. I think McShay is terrible. I literally did as well as him projecting the draft and this is his full time job. The guy has no idea what he's talking about. He makes Kiper (who I've never been a big fan of) look 10x better than he used to. Anyway, thank god I have the NFL Network b/c I really enjoyed their draft coverage. I didn't watch 1 second of ESPN this whole draft. Btw, count me in as one of those who is a firm believer that it all starts in the trenches. I'd rather have a great D-line than a great defensive backfield. -
Comments like that make me so angry at Ozzie. I mean, hopefully he's just saying that so Anderson won't get too comfortable with the starting job, but I don't think we have to worry about that. Anderson might have taken that approach 3 years ago, but he's matured a lot and I don't think he takes being a major league starter for granted. It might be nice if Ozzie would compliment the guy once in a while. He deserves it the way he's been playing since Wise got hurt.

QUOTE (daa84 @ Apr 26, 2009 -> 07:33 AM) they announced him as a DT....interesting....I really really thought DE was our biggest need.... I imagine this guy will fill the Idonije role of playing inside and outside as his contract is up after this year I agree completely. We definitely needed to address the DL (DE and DT), and it looks like we got a guy who could potentially play either position, which makes me believe he'll also be a pretty valuable special teams player with that versatility. And you know that interested the Bears considering the emphasis they put on guys who can also contribute on special teams. -

QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 25, 2009 -> 08:28 PM) Some team could get a steal with Michael Johnson still on the board. At the very least, he'll be great for helping to block kicks. If Michael Johnson is still there at #68, I'd love to pick him up. He'd be a great value in the 3rd round. And if our "biggest free agent" (aka Marinelli) is as good as Angelo and Lovie think, he'll be able to turn Johnson into a pretty good player. Though, while I'd love picking up M. Johnson, I prefer Rashad Johnson. I think he'd have a better chance at making an immediate impact than the other Johnson would with Brown/Ogunleye/Anderson/Idonije all vying for playing time at DE. My Top 4 Big Board to start the 3rd round would consist of: Rashad Johnson - S - Alabama Michael Johnson - DE - GT Jamon Meredith - OT - South Carolina DJ Moore - CB - Vanderbilt I would be very happy with any of these guys at 68. -

QUOTE (MurcieOne @ Apr 25, 2009 -> 06:35 PM) Our draft was a month ago. I am completely content. Yeah, I didn't say I was angry with the trade itself - just the fact that I won't get to see us pick anyone today. The NFL Draft is one of my favorite days of the year, and it's just a little disappointing (b/c of how much I love the draft and how long I've been waiting for this day) having to wait another whole day to see us pick. -

QUOTE (shipps @ Apr 25, 2009 -> 07:08 PM) f***ing Bears... I have waited anxiously for 4 and a half hours for the 49th pick and now they trade it to the Hawks. Exactly how I feel... So anti-climatic. I had an inkling they would do something like this, but it still pisses me off that I've watched the draft all day and I won't even get to see the Bears pick until tomorrow. I really wish the 3rd round was still on Day 1. I'd still have something to look forward to tonight. -

QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 25, 2009 -> 05:37 PM) Arizona has been said to want a RB with the 32nd pick. That would be a hell of a pick up for Arizona if they got Wells. Kind of like when the Bears really needed a TE and no one ever thought Olsen would fall that far, so we were able to get great value at that spot.
