It's not really something I do, but does being a member of a fraternity count?... A lot of people on this board seem to hate fraternities. I will say, most assuredly, I am not the type you're thinking of and I hate those "frat" guys too.

Guys who wear suits that look like this... It's bad enough that you wear baggy clothing every normal day of the week, but when it comes time for something formal and you still decide to look like a d-bag, that really pisses me off. Also, I don't hate the type of person I'm about to talk about b/c I have cousins, some friends, etc that do this. Rather, I just don't understand them... guys that spend 30 minutes on their hair before they go out at night. Honestly, girls aren't going to "get" with you b/c your hair looks like you stuck your finger in an electrical outlet. Just go natural, or combing your hair is fine if it takes about 1 minute.

Official Recruiting Thread II
dasox24 replied to greasywheels121's topic in A and J's Olde Tyme Sports Pub
As long as we win football games, I really don't care what grades the players are making. It's not hurting my overall school's reputation as an academic institution. And if it is, it's a minimal effect at best. And as long as I'm graduating from the University of Tennessee Business School with a degree in Logistics, one of the Top 10 Logistics programs of any school, public or private, I'm pretty happy. Yeah, the Big 10 has higher standards, but as football fans, wouldn't you rather put out a better team? Honestly, if your team could be like Florida or Ohio St right now, who are you taking? I think that's a pretty easy answer. Rock, your answer doesn't count, lol Btw, Illinois better not steal Stokes from me... -
QUOTE (LosMediasBlancas @ Jan 26, 2009 -> 07:12 PM) Hey, if anyone experienced what I went through and still made it to work, theyr'e a much bigger man than me. By the way, have been in and out of the bathroom since 2am with food poisoning, just got up now. Would have gone to urgent care if I didn't think I was gonna s*** my pants on the way there. What's safe to eat? I've been washing down unsalted crackers with ginger ale, but all that came up about 45 mins. ago. Any other suggestions? Popsicles... They don't really fill you up, but at least they're flavored. Other than water and crackers, I don't really know what to tell you.

Anyone know much about NO2 as a supplement? I have 2 friends who take it and they're trying to convince me to as well, but I can't find any real info on the stuff since most of the sites talking about it are trying to sell it, so of course they're going to make it sound awesome.

QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Jan 26, 2009 -> 09:29 PM) People who walk god ass slow to class with two or three other slow walkers and block me from walking around them Oh man, that's the worst. That happened to me today actually and I was running late to class, so it frustrated the hell out of me. Granted, if I hadn't been running late, it wouldn't have mattered, but still...

QUOTE (mreye @ Jan 26, 2009 -> 10:11 AM) I hate people that, when I'm holding the door open for them, put their hand on it to "hold" it open. Apparently they think I'm only tricking them and plan to slam it shut on them just as they walk into the doorway! That's a good one! I absolutely hate that. In regards to driving, I hate people that don't wave when I let them in my lane. Is it that hard to show some courtesy, especially when I saved you from being the jackass who held up everyone in the other lane b/c you couldn't get over? I hate soxtalk b/c I'm so addicted that it takes away from my school work... Maybe that shouldn't be in green

My Top 3 were Miguel Cabrera, Hanley Ramirez, and Tim Lincecum. Lincecum was really tempting to pick, but I'm not sure I want to take a pitcher if I have to take one player to build a team around. I feel like they're too unpredictable with arm injuries more likely than a position player getting hurt severely. One pitch and next thing you know the guy is having Tommy John surgery and won't be back to full strength for like 2 years, maybe never.

Bada Bing! Bada boom! So about that girl I drunk wrote about the other night... things are looking good. Her ex was harassing her a bit at the bar tonight and she was a a little upset, so I got a buddy to talk to the guy and I don't know what he said, but her ex left immediately. I love having badass friends. Anyway, she definitely likes me. Now it's just a matter of continuing things. I don't mean to sound childish or homo, but she kissed me tonight and I felt on top of the world. Her mom was in town, actually, so when I walked her back to her apartment, I met the mother and she was cool too. Her mom is one of those who will go out to the bars and drink, so she's totally cool. Hopefully I passed the parent test... lol Jimbo, this was really for you, buddy. Since you took the time to reply to my last drunk-ass post about this girl, I thought I'd give an update.

Official 2008-2009 College Basketball Thread

And Tennessee might not make the Tournament. Literally, the dumbest f***ing team I've ever seen. But, that's what happens when they don't really practice and all the players smoke tons of weed. -
I like the movie The Fast and the Furious (the 1st one). I know it's over-the-top, has bad acting, and I hate the cars they drive, but for some reason I just like the movie. It's odd b/c I'm not into racing cars or anything like that at all.

QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jan 23, 2009 -> 02:12 PM) Add me to the list of people who despise CSI and any other crime shows. THEY DON'T HAVE MAGICAL COMPUTERS WITH EVERY POSSIBLE PIECE OF DATA KNOWN TO MAN! THEY DON'T f***ING EXIST! I'm looking at you Horacio, you f***ing f***. If you hate Horacio, then you'll love this video... Oh, and in response to your question earlier, I'm a Jack Daniels guy. Gentleman Jack specifically if I feel like spending a little extra. But that's only on special occasions.

QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Jan 23, 2009 -> 03:09 PM) Anyone notice this? Interesting observation... The 1st time I saw that picture I was so focused on the asterisk-looking spots I didn't even notice that there is what looks to be a Dharma logo on the computer.

I put sprinkles on my ice cream. People always make fun of me for that.

QUOTE (lostfan @ Jan 23, 2009 -> 01:05 PM) Well, I figure my hands touch all kinds of nasty stuff all day (my keyboard, doorknobs, money, the phone, etc.) so at any given time they're probably full of whatever contamination. I wash my cock when I take showers and the only time it ever comes out to get a chance to get dirty is when I pee, and my hands touch it - obviously not counting getting laid, etc. I'm sure that my hands probably contaminate my cock more than vice versa. I should start a movement to have guys washing their junk instead of their hands when they come out of the bathroom (excluding times when they accidentally pee on their hands), it just makes more sense. This is how I feel too. Glad to know I'm not alone. Now, not washing your hands after taking a dump is another story...

QUOTE (The Gooch @ Jan 23, 2009 -> 12:01 AM) I worked at a McAlisters for over 2 years, I know all about sweet tea and I drank it every shift I work. I think its delicious and I wish we would get some McAlisters up here. McAlister's is great. I love their food. Just had a Bacon Spud there a few days ago. And their sweet tea is probably the best anyone makes from what everyone says. I really wish I liked sweet tea b/c everyone seems to think it's so great. Oh, and I hate Vodka (unless it's in a bloody mary). I think it tastes like whatever rubbing alcohol would taste like. I'm a whiskey man.

QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jan 23, 2009 -> 01:08 AM) I don't hate all boots, but I absolutely can't stand Uggs. I've never seen any of the Matrix films in their entirety. I hate ranch, but I like Ranch Cooler Doritos. I think most English music is crap and laugh when people get emotional over it. I HATE flip flops and will NEVER wear them. I also don't like salad at all. Uggs are the worst. Almost all girls seem to love them and think they're "so cute," but I've yet to find a guy who thinks they look attractive.

I hate ketchup and sweet tea. And in the South, not liking sweet tea is a sin. Everybody drinks that stuff. Of course, there's no such thing as sweet tea in the North, so none of you know what I'm talking about.

QUOTE (kapkomet @ Jan 22, 2009 -> 05:21 PM) The Goal. Good book. Yeah, I really didn't think I'd like it at all but it's pretty good so far. I was pleasantly surprised. I guess there's a reason millions of copies have been sold, lol.

I'm kind of jumping in here on this conversation, but in regards to textbooks, I don't have a problem with the big, stereotypical texts as long as they're supplemented with some extra, more in-depth type reading. I know the kids would hate it and half probably wouldn't do it, but if you can give them some sort of biographical or non-fictional novel that is interesting to read about, I think that would be a great idea. Not sure this would be easy to do, but in a subject like History or Science, I think it would. There definitely have to be some interesting non-fictional stuff about scientific discoveries or something that would interest students more than the typical stuff you learn. (Now, I know I'm in college and we're talking about secondary education mainly, but...) For instance, in my Operations Management class I'm in right now, we have a bulky, boring textbook that sucks to read, but everybody before me has read it and it obviously has to have some good stuff in it. However, we also have a fictional novel that we're supposed to also be reading throughout the semester that deals with a plant manager trying to make the plant more efficient and stop it from losing money. And if he doesn't, the company will close it. I've only read the 1st chapter but I'm interested in it, and it's a good way of explaining such things as the Theory of Constraints without having to read it in textbook form.

QUOTE (shipps @ Jan 21, 2009 -> 10:08 PM) A small thing like stealing your roomates string cheese can turn into an all out sack punching brawl... and then you will get over it and cuddle later that night. I know you're kidding, but honestly that's what I love about being a guy - the ability to get over fights/differences so quickly. We don't hold grudges. I had a huge fight (yelling, no fists - but I almost hit him) with one my roommates one night last week and a few hours later we were watching TV in his room together.
