    LOST!!!!

Btw, one of my roommates flipped the power breaker during Lost to f*** with all the rest of us b/c he doesn't like Lost. Luckily, we only missed a few seconds b/c I sprinted my ass to the breaker to flip it back on... or else there may have been a brawl, lol

    LOST!!!!

QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Jan 21, 2009 -> 11:56 PM) Also, Mrs. Hawking is Daniel's Mom. Book It. I agree completely. It has to be or else Faraday telling Desmond to "find my mother" wouldn't be significant.

    LOST!!!!

QUOTE (ScottPodRulez22 @ Jan 21, 2009 -> 11:35 PM) Who else was happy when neil got rocked? I was. All my buddies and I were like "Sit the f*** down!" You could just tell that guy was gonna get offed; I just didn't expect it to be by a flaming arrow.
  4. Since it's your birthday, maybe you'll hop on the "i am drunk" thread late tonight and post something I can give you advice on this time, haha
  5. QUOTE (Cerbaho-WG @ Jan 21, 2009 -> 03:22 PM) "A very questionable draft this year after Gordon Beckham won't do much to boost their system." ...Man, Keith Law is an idiot. Yes, he is. I guess guys like Jordan Danks, Dexter Carter, Daniel Hudson, Brent Morel, and Steven Upchurch were garbage last year. Not to mention someone like Tyler Kuhn destroying rookie league (though he is old for that level).
  6. QUOTE (juddling @ Jan 21, 2009 -> 12:31 AM) Sportscaster of the year?? That's awesome... I love the little league baseball part
  7. There are two reasons I'm excited about College Baseball starting. 1) I'm interested to see the turn-around Tennessee can make. We were pretty bad last year, but a lot of people around here are saying the team is going to be a lot better, so we'll see. If anything, I always enjoy going to a Friday afternoon game when I get out of class. Always a nice, relaxing way to start the weekend... 2) I can't wait to see what Matt Packer (P) from Virginia can do. He led the nation in ERA last year and is a name to look out for. I also may have some interest in the guy since he's a friend of mine, lol.
  8. QUOTE (Disco72 @ Jan 20, 2009 -> 10:49 AM) The hardest thing most people have with swimming is the breathing which takes them out of rhythm. Don't be afraid to use a snorkel or throw some fins on to keep you moving. It's better than thrashing around and spending 90% of your time sitting on the wall resting (this isn't directed at you, Rock, just the notion that people are afraid to look dumb in the pool). That's funny that you mention that b/c just today I was at the gym, and I ran into a girl who said she wanted to finish her workout with by swimming laps but was nervous about looking dumb b/c she's not a great swimmer. I feel the same way, though, so I can understand it. I'm not a fast swimmer, so I think I'll look stupid, especially when I lose rhythm with my breathing and have to stop for air.
  9. QUOTE (Steff @ Jan 20, 2009 -> 04:44 PM) Try Facebook or MySpace..? That's what I'd say too. Through Facebook I got back in touch with my two best friends from when I lived in Ohio, and when I went back there this summer for a wedding, I was able to see them again. We went out to the bars at Ohio St and had a great time. It was almost like it hadn't been 7 years since I saw them last. Without Facebook, I doubt I would have seen them.

    Loft Bed Shelf

QUOTE (Texsox @ Jan 20, 2009 -> 08:46 AM) They have a strict no hole bigger than a pin rule or else I'd have him do that. Ah, is he living in university housing (dorm)? If so, that makes sense they'd have that rule. I know my dorm did... So yeah, I guess making your own shelf isn't really possible. My experience with lofts have been in my fraternity house, where it doesn't matter what we do to the walls.
  11. QUOTE (Jimbo's Drinker @ Jan 19, 2009 -> 05:59 PM) Bears need a pass rush first and foremost. Yes, they do. I don't think it's a coincidence that our DB's looked great back in 2005/2006 when the Bears had a really good pass rush. If you're giving a QB 6-7 seconds to throw the ball, it's nearly impossible for a DB to stay with his man for that long when the WR has all the advantage of knowing exactly where he's going and when he's cutting.

    Loft Bed Shelf

The best and cheapest way is to make it yourself. That's what I did and you can make it the size you need to. Last year, I took a piece of wood and drilled it into the wall. This year, my loft actually has the shelf drilled into it, so either way is good.
  13. I love Anquan Boldin, but one thing that scares me about him is that he's only played a full season twice in his 6 year career. He's had seasons of 12, 12, and 10 games played, and he's about to be 30. That's a lot of missed games, especially if the injury issues creep up in the playoffs when he'd be needed most. Not sure he's worth a 1st rounder this year. There's just too many other needs for the Bears. WR is not the reason we missed the playoffs. Our defense is.

    LOST!!!!

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jan 19, 2009 -> 02:30 PM) I've been watching random episodes from the last 2 seasons to get me geared up. The Constant (the one where Desmond keeps flashing from the "present" to the past) is awesome. So was Further Instructions (Locke and the sweat lodge) and I can't remember the name of it but the one with Desmond when he meets the old woman and decides to throw the ring in the river. I still say the season 3 finale was the best 2 hours of television. Possibly ever. Oh man, I know. I just got goosebumps thinking of how that episode ended... I love how in-depth Lost is. My brother was in the Marine Corps the last 4 years, so he never really had an opportunity to get into Lost being on ship for months or out in the field training. So he's trying to catch up for the new season, and he keeps telling me about stuff that I forgot. In about 10 years, it's going to be awesome re-watching the show in it's entirety b/c I'm sure they'll be so much extra stuff to pick up on and things I forget about.
  15. I don't have a set routine, but I do workout 4-5 days/week. I just go whenever my buddy who lives across the hall can do with me. That way I've got a partner. I hate going to the gym alone. Monday is biceps and triceps. Tuesday shoulders and back. Wednesday chest and traps. Thursday legs. Friday is a medley of different things

    I confess to you

I feel you on this one. I keep so much stuff around and I'm not sure why. Like, I got some chocolates in my stocking for Christmas and I kept the box they came in (even though I ate them all) because the box looked cool. As for t-shirts, don't even get me started. I literally have at least 20 at home in a box somewhere. Not to mention the others that just sit in my room here at school. I really need to give them to goodwill, but when I sort through, I always end up being like "well, I might still wear this..." I keep receipts too until I've checked them with my bank account to make sure the correct amount was withdrawn. Then I shred them. Not sure how I got so anal about receipts, but that's just how it is.

    LOST!!!!

    I can't believe it's finally almost here...
  18. Regarding the WR position in the NFL Draft... Other than QB, WR is the hardest position to predict success at. I can't figure out why that is, but it's just that way. They also tend to take long to develop. So, for all you Bears fans who want a WR in the 1st round, it would honestly be smarter to take a WR in the 2nd or 3rd. The team isn't in position to take a WR in Round 1 and wait on that guy to develop. Honestly, I'm kind of in the "best player available" boat as long as we address some issues in free agency (DE or OL, if not both), so if that happens to be someone like James Laurinaitis at LB, I wouldn't hesitate to take him. There's really no reason for him to fall so far, but if teams want to get nit-picky and pass on a superb talent like his, I'd take him. If the Bears moved Urlacher to SLB and put Laurinaitis at MLB, our LB's would be phenomenal.
  19. QUOTE (Jimbo's Drinker @ Jan 18, 2009 -> 03:32 AM) ahhh, never fear my young warrior. You established eye contact and did not embarass yourself with the girl. If you have a mutual friend, find a way to get her info and make your move. Just cause she is rich does not mean she is not human, she is just as vulnerable and confused as the rest of the masses. I should start a column on this site, Dear Jimbo...haha Thanks... I know the girl (though I only met her about 2 weeks ago), so getting her info isn't an issue. She just broke up with her boyfriend last weekend, so I'm not sure making any move right now is a great idea. I'm just going to do the whole "hanging out with mutual friends and flirting" thing for a bit. I definitely did not embarrass myself with the girl, which is good. Actually, she's who got me so f'd up. She made me do some jello shots with her that she made, which were essentially pure Everclear, and that's what put me over the top. I could have taken a shot of Everclear and it would have been the same thing I think, lol. But people last night were really surprised I was as drunk as I was b/c no one could tell, which is a trait of mine I love. I would hate to one of those people who you can just tell are drunk the second you see them.
  20. QUOTE (lostfan @ Jan 18, 2009 -> 06:35 PM) He's an asshole and he dresses like homeless person but I have to admit he's probably the best coach since Bill Walsh. No argument there. Agree 100% on all accounts.
  21. QUOTE (knightni @ Jan 18, 2009 -> 11:08 AM) HHGregg may move into Illinois before the end of 2010. So I really had no idea what HHGregg was (except for seeing it briefly mentioned previously on this site)... Well, I just hopped on their website and found out they have 2 locations here in Knoxville, which surprised the heck out of me. I think I may have to go in to one to see what they're all about. Oh, and on the HHGregg website, it said they'll accept old Circuit City gift cards (for up to 20% of the total purchase), which is pretty cool. Not awesome if you have like a $100 gift card and want to buy something that's $100 b/c all you get towards the purchase is $20 off, but better than nothing.
  22. Haha, I saw this yesterday during class and the two guys sitting next to me thought it was hilarious. I f'n hate Bill Belichick and he did throw a "hissy fit" after that game, so I'm glad this was on jeopardy. Belichick is a jackass.
  23. Oh what the f***! I am so pissed right now... So it was one of my best friends' 21st birthdays tonight as well as this very cool, attractive girl tonight. So, they had a joint birthday party. Well, my stupid ass got too drunk to make it to the bars with them (I am not 21, but have a legit fake ID that never gets turned down). I thought I was going to puke for the last 2 hours or so, though I finally feel fine now, but I knew if I had gone out that I would have actually puked, so I couldn't leave this apartment where we pre-gamed. Anyway, this girl (who's birthday it is) and I were definitely hitting it off well tonight. We talked for a little bit (definitely very flirty) and she kept giving me these looks when we'd make eye contact across the room. Never thought I had a chance with her since her dad owns like 10 car dealerships across the southeast and her grandmother married into the Vanderbilt family, so she has more money than anyone could know what to do with... But yeah, I got a buddy to give me a ride home, so I completely blew it on going out to the bars to celebrate with either this girl or my friend, so I really f***ed up on this one. Of course now that I finally don't feel sick anymore (just very drunk), I am a good 15 minute walk from the bars and am in no way driving to get back out that way. f***!!!
  24. I guess I'm the only person who who honestly liked Circuit City. They always have better movie deals than Best Buy, and I bought my last 2 laptops from there. I couldn't care less about layout or in-store customer service as long as they had good deals on stuff. I've always just gone in, got what I needed, and left.
  25. QUOTE (JPN366 @ Jan 16, 2009 -> 02:12 PM) When I graduated high school, I was barely 18 and most everybody else was 17. Only a handful of the kids were older than me. 19 I can understand, but if you're a 20 year old college freshman, then you were either held back a grade or two, or took some time off after high school. I'm one of the youngest of all the people in my grade, and I turned 18 one week after we graduated (and we graduated the 1st week of May - 1st school in the country). Most turn 19 during Freshman year, so being 20 would mean he was held back a year at worst.
