QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Nov 22, 2008 -> 03:33 AM) in HRONOE OD ghead s, inbvest in conbdoms...cuz they workl., well, someone had a good night... I'm pretty f***in drunk myself. went to the bars tonight and a fight broke out, which got the cops involved. Never a good sign as an underage kid in a 21 & up bar as they've been known to sometimes start Id'ing kids when that sort of thing happens. But whatever, we had a great time

I'm partial to picking good 'ol America, and having bourbon/whiskey shots as the drink of choice. Maybe Jack Daniels or Maker's Mark... You could always make mixed drinks or whiskey sours if you're looking for something a little easier to take than shots.

QUOTE (Heads22 @ Nov 21, 2008 -> 10:45 AM) "Yeah, for about the last 90 minutes of the night, you sat at the bar just judging the world apparently, not saying a thing." Gotta love nights like that...

QUOTE (DukeNukeEm @ Nov 20, 2008 -> 04:59 PM) I pregamed for the pregame. I really dont know where I went or how I got home. I know how that goes. A couple weeks ago my fraternity had the Ying Yang Twins playing for us, and I started drinking way too early. So, I ended up puking outside the venue we had them at, and had to be taken home. Never made it inside. I don't remember any of it, but I regret it terribly. I supposedly missed an awesome night and an amazing concert.

I like how everyone talks about how much Vista sucks, but I actually prefer it to XP. Makes things so much simpler and quicker for me. I've had zero problems with Vista. Oh, and I love my HP laptop.

Any Texas fans on here? What do yo think of Muschamp working out a deal to be the next Head Coach after Mack Brown retires? I really liked him at first, but in all seriousness, is the Texas defense really that better this year? They still seem to be giving up a lot of points to good teams. -
I love my double cheeseburgers at McDonald's. Unfortunately, they're about to be replaced on the Dollar Menu at all McDonald's in favor of the new McDouble, which is two pieces of meat with one piece of cheese. It'll save them money. The double cheeseburger will now be $1.19. And the Value Menu's everywhere are becoming terrible b/c of the poor economy, I guess. I used to thrive off of dollar menu's, but now they don't really offer that much great stuff. I remember when a Medium Fry at McDonald's was $1, but now the Small is $1.

QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Nov 18, 2008 -> 12:04 AM) I can't tie a tie to save my life. God this is frustrating. I think a lot of people have trouble tying ties. I can definitely see how it would be frustrating, especially if it comes out looking sloppy. I'm always tying them for my buddies, but that's mainly because they all think I can tie a tie better than anyone. They'll do it in a hurry, but if they're going to something important, they normally ask me to do it. But, I became good (and fast) at it having tied one every day for school for 4 years.

QUOTE (DrunkBomber @ Nov 16, 2008 -> 12:21 PM) cocaine and hookers Sounds like you went on one hell of a bender... Unfortunately, I'm sure there were people out there who used their stimulus checks for those exact things. As for me, I didn't get a stimulus check. But, I was visiting my friend in Ohio when he got his, so I convinced him to buy a new pair of Ray-Bans with some of it. He saved the rest.

So I went to Tennessee's season opener tonight against UT-Chattanooga, and we looked great. I know it was a weak opponent, but this team can put up points in a hurry. We scored 9 points in less than 30 seconds at one point. The defense is a bit weak as they tend to reach a lot, which will hurt against a good opponent. But, this is the most athletic team I've seen since I've been here. And we finally have a legit PG for Pearl's system. Ramar Smith just didn't fit right. Bobby Maze, who looks identical to Dee Brown, can hit a shot if he's open, but he mainly pushed the floor and played solid defense. More importantly, we saw the potential of Scotty Hopson. He just dominated one stretch in the 2nd half. Our freshman class is nasty. -
So not a good week for dogs, I guess. The dog of one of the guys I live with got hit by a car and died this morning. Hit and run so we don't know who did it. But, I've known that dog since my friend got him and not even 24 hours ago I was playing with him. Just doesn't feel right. He wasn't even 3 yet... I know he's not even my own dog, but I was still pretty attached having taken part in caring for him the last 2 years. I loved that dog. My favorite memories of him are when I'd be sitting in my room and my door would open, but instead of seeing someone walk in, I'd see a little dog head poke around to look in my room and then walk out, lol. It always caught me off-guard, even though he did it all the time.

QUOTE (zenryan @ Nov 9, 2008 -> 10:14 PM) I'm questioning the heart of those players. Your coach just got fired, its homecoming and they come out with a game like that? As a fan of a team going through a transition, the quicker the Fulmer players are gone the better once the new coach comes in. You're probably right. The seniors especially are pitiful. They show no emotion whatsoever and have greatly underachieved... I'll say this: The only reason I enjoyed the game whatsoever was b/c I got to sit in our Chancellor's skybox, meet/greet some big-time alumni, and I ate ridiculously well... e.g. steak and a bunch of other awesome food. Those people sure know how to do it. But, I would rather sit in the stands for a big-time game over being in a skybox any day of the week. The atmosphere just isn't the same. -

What the hell has happened to Tennessee football... Anybody still questioning whether Phil should have been fired or not? -
QUOTE (scenario @ Nov 9, 2008 -> 08:53 PM) I believe Slayer is an in-house Sox-talk nickname. His team mates call him Gordo. Essentially this. It's just a Soxtalk thing that was started b/c he supposedly "slayed a lot of pussy in college"... (sorry if that sounds crude)

Good stuff. Our system was pretty damn barren last off-season, and while it's still not great, you can definitely see we're beginning to build it back up. This past year's draft really turned out some guys who had very good 1st seasons as professionals.

So 2 potential coaching candidates in Knoxville today/this weekend... Lane Kiffin and Jon Gruden. The Gruden visit has been planned awhile, though, so I wouldn't read too much into it. His wife is a former cheerleader and there's a big cheerleader reunion for Homecoming this weekend. However, doesn't hurt to have him up here. Kiffin supposedly playing golf with some big time alumni today... though you know how those rumors go. Who knows if it's true... -
QUOTE (knightni @ Nov 5, 2008 -> 10:11 PM) The site is out of California and hosted in Texas. Oh, you know what I mean... It may be hosted in Texas and run by a guy in California (Jason) but it's a Chicago-based message board. Talkbulls.com, talkbears.com, soxtalk.com... Don't try to pull that bulls***. They're all Chicago-based teams.

QUOTE (Steff @ Nov 5, 2008 -> 08:08 PM) No you're not, but your mocking them for getting emotional and crying. Are you surprised - with all the effort and work several Dem's put into this election - that you're getting this response? I guess I shouldn't be surprised... Especially on a Chicago-based message board where, of course, the majority of posters are democrats.

QUOTE (bmags @ Nov 5, 2008 -> 06:34 PM) I'm not even saying conservative DEMOCRATS, i'm saying it may be people without party, from the private sector. Gotcha. That's probably a smart route to take.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Nov 5, 2008 -> 05:44 PM) Damn those emotional people who truly care about the direction this country is taking. That's not really what I was saying, but okay... Take my words out of context. It's not like I'm saying "f*** those people!"

QUOTE (bmags @ Nov 5, 2008 -> 06:23 PM) I think you are more likely to see conservatives in his cabinet, but I just kind of doubt that members of the republican party would join the cabinet. Obviously people like Chuck Hagel might work, but for the most part I think people would find that disloyal to their party. So in terms of economics, you might fight conservatives in there, but I don't know if they will be conservatives OF the republican party. That's pretty much what I was getting at, which makes sense.
-
So, I'm really hoping we see a decent number of conservative types apart of Obama's cabinet. Same for if a Republican wins president in the future regarding liberals. I like the idea of Presidents having a good mix of both viewpoints rather than only his party's. I really don't know much about Obama's possible choices. Is it looking like my hope for a somewhat bi-partisan cabinet is feasible?
