  1. f*** Well, Hamilton put on one hell of a show. I just wish he could have finished it off. Congrats to him for just being able to be in this situation.
  2. Little late to this discussion, but I was still mesmerized by Josh Hamilton's performance. Simply amazing... This guy is one of my favorite players in baseball right now, and watching him do what is just did is unbelievable... What if we had picked up Hamilton this off-season? Our OF would be sick.
  3. McDonalds Custodial Training video... Completely ridiculous.
  4. QUOTE (DrunkBomber @ Jul 12, 2008 -> 09:47 AM) Then I would buy a fleet of H1 Hummers and me and my friends would drive around and go to gas stations and fill them up all the time and laugh at everyone struggling with gas prices and possibly even have gasoline fights Zoolander style. That's awesome. One of maybe 5 message board posts that has ever made me literally laugh out loud... Just envisioning that is hilarious. Oh, and back to topic of this thread. If I won the lottery, I'd buy a used 2006 Chevy Tahoe since that is my favorite car of all time, but don't like the post-2006 look. Kinda crazy, right? Everyone thinks I'm nuts when I say I'd buy a Tahoe and not some ridiculous sports car or something, but truthfully, I've wanted a Tahoe since I was 14 and that's all I'd want. I'd give a bunch to my family members and buy a house. Save/Invest the rest...
  5. I'm a little late here I know, but... Wow! What a great play by Alexei! That was one helluva way to end the game.

    Whiffle Ball

    QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 11, 2008 -> 01:32 PM) A lot of times we'd use a tennis ball so that you could chuck the s*** out of it. Oh yeah, we always used a tennis ball for those purposes.
  7. I would take Favre in an instant. If we had Favre in '05-'06, we would have won that Super Bowl... Not saying that really matters for the upcoming season, but the point is, with a good QB, this Bears team would be really good.
  8. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Jul 11, 2008 -> 11:35 AM) http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story...mp;lid=tab3pos1 Didnt know where to put this, but it's a really nice article and a good read about a guy who's dream was only to play minor league ball and how he got there. Its long, but worth it. That is a pretty good story. I can't believe that other manager recognized him - a guy who he last saw 12 years ago and didn't even make the team, plus he had a wig on.

    Whiffle Ball

    QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Jul 11, 2008 -> 10:34 AM) Anyone play "Running bases". If nothing else teaches you how to execute a rundown. If you're talking about what we called "pickle," then yes. That game was awesome. I dominated... How about Smear the Queer? We used to play that a bit, but I never realized how politically incorrect that name is. haha Seriously though, I love what this thread has turned into. Brings back a lot of great memories. I'm only 20 but I played all these games (ghosts in the graveyard, kick the can, etc.), but I feel like kids even a few years younger than me did not. Truthfully, I feel really fortunate to have those experiences b/c I don't think kids play these games anymore. Or maybe I just don't know it b/c I live in an older neighborhood now and there are about zero kids.
  10. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jul 10, 2008 -> 04:37 AM) Just for Row: What the f***??? That's all I can say to that...
  11. Didn't get a stimulus check, but my friend got his and he was considering just putting it in his savings, so I had to convince him to spend some of it since that's why it was given out. He bought a new pair of Ray-Bans.
  12. QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ Jul 8, 2008 -> 05:51 PM) Some of you may be interested in browsing this website. http://www.ssa.gov/cgi-bin/popularnames.cgi You're not cool unless your name is in the 100's. That website is pretty cool. I've been having a lot of fun with it. My name was 72nd in 1988 but has since shot up to 40 in 2007. Interesting... I guess parents are starting to realize if they want a badass for a son, they should name him "Evan."
  13. This was quite possibly the shortest game thread ever... Anyway, glad we could take at least 1 from the A's.
  14. QUOTE (joejoedairy @ Jul 5, 2008 -> 03:58 PM) Is McCann the braves cather's brother or is it just a coincidence? Just a coincidence
  15. I love America... Watching those fireworks and hearing "God Bless America" on the radio made me feel, once again, how lucky I am to be from the most badass country in the world!
  16. Happy Birthday guys! I must say, the 4th is a pretty badass birthday to have.
  17. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jul 4, 2008 -> 12:10 AM) http://www.drankbeverage.com/ It's that Purple Drank!
  18. That would be amazing. Is this legit or what? I mean, if a guy can get his Mustang 110 miles/gallon, then could all cars get that? Like, for example, if I buy a Chevy Tahoe, could I get the engine reconfigured to get 100 miles/gal? Any engineers or car guys out there that know if this is really feasible? Also, it would seem to really hurt profits for oil companies, so in turn, would they then jack up the price to, like, $10/gallon?
  19. QUOTE (TCQ @ Jul 2, 2008 -> 01:01 PM) Im not trying to flame but that is the worst ice cream metaphor i have ever read, i award you no points and may god have mercy on your soul. I kinda liked it...
  20. A little late to the party, but I'm really glad we signed Upchurch as well! Lock up Danks too and we got ourselves a very nice draft class.

    Films Thread

    QUOTE (EvilJester99 @ Jun 30, 2008 -> 01:49 PM) I see they have a trailer of the new Bond movie coming out.... http://www.moviefone.com/movie/quantum-of-...7212x1200228195 Hmm, not sure what I think of that preview. One thing's for sure, if it's as good as Casino Royal, then I'll love it.
  22. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jun 29, 2008 -> 11:16 PM) I could quite easily see Beckham as the 3Bman of the future, though I guess I never really saw how strong his arm was during the CWS. I also don't see Josh Fields in the organization past this calendar year, assuming the Sox can get some solid value out of him. Yeah, I've wondered this myself recently. If Richar or Getz can hold down 2nd pretty well and Ramirez keeps playing like he has, could Beckham handle the hot corner? I think it depends on his offensive ability actually. If he doesn't hit as well as projected and is average offensively for a 2B (which would be considered below-average for a 3B), then I don't think they'd play him there. But, if he could at least put up Crede-like #'s, I think he could definitely play 3rd. I don't think Fields will be around either, but I just couldn't come up with a much better 3B currently in the system (CJ Retherford? Lot of work to do to be considered a future MLB starter)...
