I absolutely love Smoak, so that's who I picked. I really don't think Posey or Skipworth will be around when we pick, but if they are, then those are two guys that we'd have to seriously look at.

QUOTE (JPN366 @ May 21, 2008 -> 06:10 AM) Can you elaborate? Just referring to what Bureau has told us about all these Latin American players that were not as good as our scouts (i.e. Dave Wilder) said they were, as well as them being much older than our scouts said they were.

Yes, thank you guys

Arizona signee Emmanuel Negedu has asked Lute Olsen to release him from his LOI. Olsen visited Negedu to convince him otherwise, but Negedu says he won't be attending Arizona no matter what... The 2 schools Negedu is looking at now are Tennessee and Indiana. -
Tennessee currently... Rest of my immediate and extended family was all born and/or raised in the Chicago area.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Apr 19, 2008 -> 01:46 AM) Baldwin's lines in the movie...pure gold. Oh, absolutely. I think I was the only person in the theater laughing at those lines, but maybe thats b/c I watch Law & Order a lot and have a great appreciation for those "Jerry Orbach-like," cheesy one-liners. I thought it was great how they were making fun of them. But yeah, after seeing FSM, I'd say it was better than Knocked Up but Superbad was slightly better than FSM. That said, they're all funny movies. I just went from 6 to midnight...

2,322 songs... All of which I like and will listen to at any time. I personally don't like it when people brag about how many songs they have, but don't know a bunch of them b/c they just download entire soundtracks. Like my roommate who has about 6,000 songs but if you look at his "play count," there are probably about 2,000 that he has never played.

QUOTE (ChiSox35 @ May 5, 2008 -> 06:52 PM) Even so, how many here were expecting anything other than a K from Jim at this point in time. Not I... Once Quentin got out, I knew we were going to end the inning with no runs. You know it's bad when you can come to expect that. -

QUOTE (Jimbo's Drinker @ May 3, 2008 -> 10:06 AM) How is Woolridge, we just got his brother. Well, I couldn't tell you much since I haven't seen him play before. But, from all I've read on Rivals he's very long and athletic, and is his best creating shots off the dribble. He's definitely a fast, open court game type of kid who (like most high schoolers) needs to get stronger. If Royce is much like his brother, you got a very good player. -

Well, Bruce Pearl kicked Ramar Smith and Duke Crews off the team today. Not sure why yet, but I'm sure it's drug-test failure related. This hurts as both Sophomores were former 5-star recruits that may not have exactly lived up to their potential yet, but showed flashes and would have been a big help to next year's team. Oh well, Scotty Hopson, Renaldo Woolridge, and Daniel West are gonna have some big shoes to fill as freshman next year. And what the hell is wrong with so many big time student athletes that they can't give up smoking some weed, and risk getting kicked off the team? It's just not worth it. -
Retherford has done nothing but hit since we signed him as a UDFA less than a year ago. I understand he may not have great potential, but you can't argue with his production so far.

I was so happy to see BA get that game-winner. He's been through a lot in his young career, but he has stuck with it, and now it's paying off for him. Just wish he would get some more PT. Though it's hard with Quentin playing as well as he has, and Swisher and Dye in the other OF positions.

Gotta go with the Natty Light... That's the beer of choice for the most part around here, especially if there's a keg.
